This was a weekend filled with gf distractions. She came into town again and I got some time to myself on Saturday but that was it. Basically I had time to log on, do escort, and craft some food for Beerman. Other than that I got nothing accomplished in game.
As for other game news though, Sush got his W Legs last night ... thus pushing me that much further into the depression of not having that item that I wish I could have more than just about any other item in the game. Don't get me wrong, its not the best piece of gear in the game, but its that piece of gear that I feel I need to truly make my RDM GOOD. Yes, its only movement speed +12% and some other basically worthless stats, but its just that item that I hold near and dear to my heart for some ungodly reason. We all have those items right? What's yours you 3 people that read my blog? (Interactive blog today, isn't that awesome!)
As for Sunday, yeaaaaaaaaaah, I got a new toy, Rockband 2. I have a feeling I'm going to be draining some of my FFXI time into that game which in turn should hopefully bring my spirits back up about FFXI. Just in the first day that I've had the game, I already feel that I'm getting better on the drums and the guitar, but the damn vocals I still suck at because I can't remember words for the life of me. Singing is so hard for me because I don't know HALF of the songs in that game so I'm sitting there humming like a retard. For the guitar and drums its really easy for me to pick up the rhythm and be able to hit the notes ... I know, a white guy with rhythm doesn't sound right does it? I still have some work to do on my comfort level of guitar because hitting that 5th button for hard is well, hard.
Tonight I have a lot of stuff to do around my house because I didn't get ANYTHING done around my house because my gf was in town. I have the lawn to mow, bathroom to clean, my room to clean including doing laundry, and more video games to play! Hopefully the rest of the night I can get some exp in and maaaaaaaaaybe finish off my THF tonight or even just work towards finishing it off because I really want to move on to another job already.

Getting Bored
Last night was kind of uneventful. After volleyball I went and duo'd with Khrone in Altepa again. He got his SAM to 37 and I got my THF to 46. I guess that leaves us with going out to the bird camp in the past to rock out some hard core exp. Hopefully I can snag Swifman and his friends to come out and have some fun with us because he was out there last night with Sinles and Arbil and he got 5 levels on his DRG.
I am kind of at a loss at what else to talk about. I mean there is stuff I'd like to do in game like camp some NMs, join an end game LS, exp more, but my drive is dying out. The only thing really keeping me rolling right now is friends (and my brother) asking me to go do stuff with them. Sush keeps inviting me to his LS, Khrone keeps asking me to help PL him or get avatars or something, and then Swifman asking to go level with him or join his HNM shell. All those things are really what's keepin me chuggin along right now. I don't really have that self drive that I used to, which may be because of the jobs that I'm playing or maybe I'm just burned out from all the exp that I've gotten lately and I need a change of pace. That's probably partially why I have been starting all my AF earlier than I originally planned.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about quitting but I'm just talking about motivation to get stuff accomplished in game. I really want Maat's cap, but its just such a struggle to keep exping EVERY night and at such great lengths. I'd love to actually do some other stuff like assaults or nyzule isle or even limbus. Heck, even just go do some ENMs for gil because you can never have too much gil. The more I think about it the more I realize that end game wasn't just about getting gil and items, but it was about doing all that with your friends and having fun with it. Ok, I guess I will just stop there because this therapy session needs to end. haha
Tonight I hope to get my Quicksand Caves coffer key and then the AF weapon fight that I have in the Cloister of Tremors done. After I get the coffer key I will have all the keys I need for my DRG AF, so I guess that means I'm doing DRG first. Maybe with some spare time I have I will go get DRG to 50 so I can actually GET the AF started and finished on DRG.

I Bring the Pain
Last night Khrone and I did a little duoing out in Eastern Altepa before we went to do some Avatar fights with Arckk. While we were out there I got to show Khrone what kind of damage a real THF can do on those pets. I was starting off just doing SATA on him because Screamin would pull hate pretty easily with me loading him up with enmity gear. I would do about 200 or so damage per SATA which isn't too bad since the pets only have about 400-500 HP. Once I showed him what a SATA + Viper Bite looked like he was quite shocked. After the 320ish damage from that I asked him to do a little parsing. I think we were about 3 mobs into parsing and he said I was doing about 75% of the damage because he couldn't swing fast enough and WS fast enough. What was really funny is that I basically just SATA'd and that was it too. He was the only one doing any real melee damage. On actual mobs he would probably destroy me though. lol
When Arckk got back on we went and killed Shiva and Ifrit which were both pretty easy except for Ifrit's 2hr which actually did 1300+ damage on Screamin to which I was VERY shocked. Granted that was more Arckk's fault because he didn't have Barfira up at that point. Oh well, he only lost like 200 exp and he's only about 400 from recapping exp again anyways.
Its nice doing things with friends again, I like the relaxed atmosphere. Lazy exp with Khrone is nice too because I'm helping him out, but at the same time I'm getting THF to 50 in hopes of my goals. My THF is now 44 by the way, so only 6 more levels before I can be done with THF for a long time. Hopefully I can find some parties that will let my THF be a THF for once.
I know its blasphemous but I am starting to contemplate end game again because I'm seeing all these people that I used to play with in other LSs have all this nice gear and I'm just kinda getting left in the dust in that aspect. I want to have that nice gear to show for all the work that I'm doing too. Its nice to have the versatility that I will eventually have but then again none of my newer jobs to 75 will have any GOOD gear because I haven't spent any time doing end game. I know I shouldn't pick on Khrone, but its so easy because he's my brother, but I look at him and all his talking about wanting to pimp his only 75 job and he's not really doing anything about it. He has a dynamis shell but can't go to most of the events because they are all places that he can't go to since he is still waiting for his Windy clear. But I know that he really should join a sky LS because no matter how long a line is for specific gear there is no way he's going to get it unless he gets in that line. I just don't want to see him waste a lot of time in game like I did the first 2 or 3 years. The other thing is that I could EASILY get him into an LS because I know a few good people out there. Meh, I really am feeling less and less accomplished in game as this is going on. I need to find some way to rekindle my desire to level and get stuff done.
Tonight will hopefully be getting a few more levels on my THF with Khrone on his SAM. Besides that I don't really have anything else to do. Maybe I could go run around and make sure I have all the tuning forks for both myself and Screamin so I don't have to hold people up like I did last night. Hitting a Wall
I don't really know what it is but I don't have that drive to exp like I used to. I knew it was coming but I really hoped I could've hit all jobs to 50 before that happened. Does this mean I am not going to go for Maat's Cap anymore? No. Does this mean I won't be hitting my goals as I hoped? Yes.
This isn't such a bad spot for me to be hitting the perverbial wall because I can go out and do some other stuff like AF quests and coffer hunting. Or I can do avatar fights with Khrone and Arckk like I have been doing and will be doing more of tonight. I do still want to get THF to 50 because then I can at least be skilling up my Marksmanship on coffer mobs and be abusing my own TH2.
The ironic part of doing coffer and AF hunting right now is that the one job that I have 2 keys for is the one that I was going to take slowly to 50 with exp scrolls. This means I will have to find a faster way to get my DRG to 50 than just banking on the scrolls. I could go sit in Gustav Tunnel for an hour or so and get my level and then use the scrolls to start leveling my SMN or WHM or something.
Although with a lot of these AF weapon quests I could go through and DO the quests but not actually get the weapons because they would all be taking up inventory space. But getting these quests out of the way would be a great help. I guess that means I have to lay out a plan so that I can spend the least amount of time actually going around and getting the quests and doing the quests so I won't have to do one and realize that I could've started 3 in the same town.
As it seems right now I only have to do a run to Windy and Sandy to get all of my weapons quests started and then most are just run out, fight, and run back. It really should only take me a night to finish 5 weapons quests, but the 6th will be kind of a pain because I have to wait for a full moon to complete the Ranger one. I guess in my free time after work I will go start my quests and see how many I can finish up real quick.
Tonight will be another night of very little leveling if at all because I have RL stuff again and then I will be doing some more avatar runs with Khrone and Arckk. Hopefully after tonight Arckk will have his Moon Bauble and Khrone will have a coupld whispers towards his Moon Bauble. Once they both have their Baubles we can go knock out Fenrir for them to get the summon and for myself to get the Evoker's Ring. I can't believe I'm about to have the Evoker's Ring and my SMN is only 40. lol Ah well, at least its another thing down the road that I won't have to do.

Holy Friends Batman
I can't believe it! I got a /tell last night on Screamin from Bleemo, one of the old leaders of NitohRyu, and he's back! Not only is Bleemo back, but Xandrah, Aetos, and Klitz are all coming back too! All of these guys were really good players. Xandrah was actually the shell holder of NitohRyu and then the other 3 were all RL friends I believe and the other leaders of the shell.
The only down side of all of this is that only Bleemo and Aetos I guess are actually getting their characters back which means that Klitz and Xandrah are starting anew and haven't yet decided on character names and such yet. I did offer for them to all get a pearl for HacTao, which Xandrah actually remembered the name of, but some of them hadn't even started their characters yet so he said they would hold off on that. Now that I have been thinking about it though, they will probably just go where ever Dragonreborn is because he is another RL friend of theirs that never quit the game. It was just really exciting to see them all again.
As for someone else whom I just found out came back as well was Hayden. He was Screamin's old LS leader for Limbus and I guess they became friends through there. Hehe, its funny that all of these guys were actually friends with Screamin but they all still remember me. Xandrah was actually the one that sent the /tell to Screamin from Bleemo's account since I know they were roommates and then Hayden I knew used to e-mail back and forth Screamin IRL. Its just funny that they sent tells to him literally an hour apart. Wow, that's just really cool that all these people are coming back.
Accomplishments from last night are kind of few and far between because of my damn DVR. I got home at a little after 9 and had to start catching up on the Browns vs. Giants game. Once I caught up it hit about halftime. Instead of waiting for halftime to finish to keep watching the game I decided to catch up on Heroes instead and just let the game continue to get recorded. After I finished watching another good episode of Heroes I started to catch up on the Browns game again ... which they were WINNING! If you have seen any NFL football this season you know that the Browns were on the way down the toilets and the Giants were probably considered the best team in the NFL. I don't know what it was but the Browns finally clicked and DESTROYED the Giants, and yes, destroyed because a 1-3 team beat a 4-0 team by 21 points ... 21 POINTS!
Anyways, after that I tried doing Ramuh with Khrone and we failed miserably the first time, but luckily I timed Ramuh's swings just right and got out alive but no such luck for Khrone and Screamin. After that I decided that doing avatars AT ALL is retarded if you aren't blink tanking because the en-spell damage is rediculous and even for as high as my Enfeebling Magic is I couldn't dispel it. So again I just decided to tell Khrone to tank it on his MNK/NIN and I just sat back with Screamin and myself curing and paralyna-ing. It went pretty smoothly that way except that Khrone really needs to learn to time his shadows better and learn how to cancel his shadows because Ichi will not overwrite Ni, but Ni will overwrite Ichi. I get flustered with all of this little stuff but I have to keep reminding myself that I have been playing for what 4 or 5 years and he has only been actually playing for about 1.
Since we were already in the Tree and I needed a key for my DRG AF we just went back by Aquarius's pop and sat there killing basically everything to get me a key. Once I got my key a JP THF asked if we could help him kill Aquarius which again, was no problem as long as you blink tanked it. Now I'm starting to understand more and more what Screamin always complained about how there is sooooooo much in the game that a NIN can tank but a PLD can't even though when all is said and done a PLD is actually a much better tank. Anyways, the Fransica is an axe I will definitely need once I start leveling RNG again, so I'll definitely be back there. Not to mention that Aquarius dropped over 3k to each person and there were 5 of us there which is a nice chunk of change.

THIEF!!!
After a seemingly very short weekend I came home to leveling THF. No joke, I had my flag up for about 2 seconds and I already had an invite. People apparently are discovering the bird camp in the past and taking full advantage of Level Sync.
The party was WHM, PLD, RNG, RNG, BST, and THF (me) and we did pretty well considering we didn't have a PL. We were still rolling at about 9k/hr with having to go a little slower than I am accustomed to because of waiting for healing magic. It was a good paced but still relaxing party where I could still watch TV while not having to worry about people dying. The only real problem I had with the party was that I couldn't take full advantage of my THF. There was no 1st provoke for me to drop a full SATA so I was doing separated SA and TA attacks but always using WS with my SA for more damage. One time the RNG pulled a lot of hate and the PLD couldn't get it back and I actually got a chance to land a full SATA on him ... no WS ... and it still landed for over 300 damage. Its nice to see the possibility of great damage that I can do with a THF but it was kind of disheartening that I couldn't take advantage of it in the party I was in.
The night was definitely an accomplishment though because I did get 4 levels and got up to 41 on my THF. One of these nights I really should put together my own party and head out there since it really isn't that hard to just grab 1 level 37 person and a party and go rock out in that camp. I honestly could see myself going all the way to the mid 50s on all of my jobs in this camp because it is sooooo easy to exp there and the exp flows so well.
As for goal reaching, I'm not going to even come close to my goal of October 19th for this tier because that's 7 days but I need 38 levels still. That means I need over 5 levels per day to hit that which is VERY unlikely. I did take a few nights off which is really what held me back but I did also get a few coffer keys which makes things easier when I do all my AFs. It has been nice to slow down a bit because the whole reason I was doing this is because I was having fun going at my own pace for everything and pushing myself so hard to keep up with my aggressive goals has been taxing me. So slowing down and enjoying the scenery will do me some good.
On the plus side, I have hit 925 total job levels which is really making me realize I'm getting really close to 1000 levels. That's one hell of a lot of job levels for one character... I have also broken below 200 levels to go til Maat's cap and am now at 196 to go. Doesn't sound like much and I realize that is still quite a lot of exp to get but I'm glad I have broken through another plateau.
Tonight I have some RL stuff again so I guess I will try to exp THF afterwards and maybe try to hit 45 or something if I'm lucky. Maybe tonight I will actually throw to gether my own level 37 party in the past. I could see me grabbing a group of mostly friends and then the 1 random person that is 37 that I can level sync with. haha Not really going to set a goal but I'll just say hope to hit 44 tonight because that will be 3 levels for this evening.

The party was WHM, PLD, RNG, RNG, BST, and THF (me) and we did pretty well considering we didn't have a PL. We were still rolling at about 9k/hr with having to go a little slower than I am accustomed to because of waiting for healing magic. It was a good paced but still relaxing party where I could still watch TV while not having to worry about people dying. The only real problem I had with the party was that I couldn't take full advantage of my THF. There was no 1st provoke for me to drop a full SATA so I was doing separated SA and TA attacks but always using WS with my SA for more damage. One time the RNG pulled a lot of hate and the PLD couldn't get it back and I actually got a chance to land a full SATA on him ... no WS ... and it still landed for over 300 damage. Its nice to see the possibility of great damage that I can do with a THF but it was kind of disheartening that I couldn't take advantage of it in the party I was in.
The night was definitely an accomplishment though because I did get 4 levels and got up to 41 on my THF. One of these nights I really should put together my own party and head out there since it really isn't that hard to just grab 1 level 37 person and a party and go rock out in that camp. I honestly could see myself going all the way to the mid 50s on all of my jobs in this camp because it is sooooo easy to exp there and the exp flows so well.
As for goal reaching, I'm not going to even come close to my goal of October 19th for this tier because that's 7 days but I need 38 levels still. That means I need over 5 levels per day to hit that which is VERY unlikely. I did take a few nights off which is really what held me back but I did also get a few coffer keys which makes things easier when I do all my AFs. It has been nice to slow down a bit because the whole reason I was doing this is because I was having fun going at my own pace for everything and pushing myself so hard to keep up with my aggressive goals has been taxing me. So slowing down and enjoying the scenery will do me some good.
On the plus side, I have hit 925 total job levels which is really making me realize I'm getting really close to 1000 levels. That's one hell of a lot of job levels for one character... I have also broken below 200 levels to go til Maat's cap and am now at 196 to go. Doesn't sound like much and I realize that is still quite a lot of exp to get but I'm glad I have broken through another plateau.

Side tracked
So again, I didn't get any exp in, but I did do some other stuff that took up some time and was semi fun.
I ran out to Ifrit's Cauldron to do Ifrit Prime with Khrone and when we got there I realized Screamin couldn't get in but oh well. While I was waiting for Khrone to get there I got my Cauldron Coffer Key for my DRG AF that I will eventually be getting so that is a plus. Then we went out and did Ifrit, Shiva, and finally Leviathan. For Leviathan Arckk logged on and came and joined us which was fun to have him around again.
After we finished the avatar fights we decided to try our luck on getting Khrone his Carby Mitts. I took him down to get his offering which of course was in the last room possible it to be in. Once we got him the offering Arckk was just waiting for us at the Temple's entrance so he could join us for some fun and excitement. We had some problems pulling a mob through the door to have it open but we got it after about 10 minutes of patience. Once we got up to the room and cleared all the mobs we popped the NM and whooped it. Sadly only the Carby Mitts dropped because I was hoping to snag the Light Elemental Pact that could've dropped.
In all I made some gil for just turning in the whispers on Screamin and myself which is a little cash in my pocket I guess. During these runs I realized that I could be collecting the items for my Evoker's Ring but I'd still need to defeat Fenrir again for the item from there. I'm not really in a huge rush for it but I realize that I will have to be running through these avatars a bunch for Khrone because he wants them all for his SMN that he is leveling.
This weekend I will be going to visit my gf again so that means no FFXI at all until Sunday night. Maybe then I'll decide to throw together an exp party or something. Although I don't know how that would work out since Khrone has my laptop again so I'd be having to break my neck to be looking back and forth from my TV to my monitor again. He better order his laptop today so he doesn't have to borrow mine anymore and I can actually take it out of town with me when I go. Guess that's it for this post, kinda short but not much besides that little stuff.
