This will be a very short post as I really didn't get that much done this weekend since it was my birthday.
I beat Maat on BST which actually came down a lot closer than I expected. I had to take Maat down below 20% which most people say he gives up at 30% so it was getting scary because my pet just died and Maat and his pet were wrecking me. Luckily I only had to land 2 more hits after my pet died and I won. Simple fight though where I just followed the wiki. Go in with the HQ spider thing, Lifedrinker Lars or whatever, and just sent him in. I took out the pet (dragonfly) pretty easily and then started with a WS on Maat then Snarl. Then just regular melee/Sic-ing my pet. Actually, I don't even remember if I Sic'd my pet. lol
Then I did SAM last night and it was scary close. It should've been over in about 45 seconds but when I looked back at the log I realized why it wasn't. Apparently I missed my 2nd WS which was the most important because that was supposed to be the start of a SC. I was going to rock out Light and then finish him off with an extra Gekko. Well, Maat had other plans by dodging my 2nd WS and screwing up my nice large SC that was going to kill him. Luckily my Third Eye was a champ and absorbed like 6 hits after I put it back up and was able to just melee him down. This was an unlucky fight for me as I even have merits into GK because I whiffed that WS but lucky because I was still able to take him down.
That's about it besides more Testimony hunting so I can clear out inventory space to actually level my RNG. Hopefully tonight I will get round 2 on DRG and MNK and maybe Repose my way to a WHM victory as well. Here's to having a few more Maat fights done by tomorrow.

Rift

3 about sums it up to what happened with a lot of people in LolFail, a huge break in friendly relations. Its actually funny because I have almost come to expect this now. I haven't been in an LS that hasn't ended in a flaming ball poo poo cah cah just like this one, and of course there is always the iteration afterwards. As much as people don't want to say it or admit it, this LS is basically and off shoot of one from way back before I even got onto Hades. I guess it was originated by Hiox (I think that was his name), and then got turned into DramatisPersonae led by Driz/Gwen (hubby/wife combo) and a shell which I was apart of. After them it kept the same name and was turned over to Babybear which didn't last long because everyone had their own opinion on what was going on which ended up driving BB to just quiting and the shell falling apart. Due to that falling apart Vaniel started picking up people into MyFirstDay which didn't last long either because people accused him of stealing which was always complete and utter BS because he never had a reason to steal anything in the game because his gear never changed at all ... EVER. So Van gave up everything to Drayco and Cedrick who then started AstrumNovae. (on a side note, I'm pretty sure there was an iteration of OrganizedChaos in there too) Then Dray and Ced accused each other of stealing and Ced booted Dray who had basically the entire bank of well over 10M. That basically led to the downfall of that one which lead nicely into LolFail because Sush was in AN but got booted earlier so he said fork it and moved on and made his own. So there I was in LolFail with some of the same people I was in DP with way back in the day. Seriously, people just keep flowing right into the next iteration. Relentless which is now run by Zalorolo, Shiiga, Hybridkiller, and Caol, but again, basically same group as LolFail with a few changes mostly in who's running it.
At least I can honestly say the only thing I'm going to miss are the payouts. It was by far my biggest source of income and since I feel that I'm basically done with sky now, especially since I got lucky and got N Hands last night because our buyer fell asleep while we were killing, I don't really feel that I will ever need to find another sky shell considering the only thing I would ever want from sky now for Treu is W Hands, but Haidate would be uber for Screamin.... There will always be a big need for gil which is becoming increasingly aparent to me because in order to really do much more with my SAM outside of merits I will need oodles of gil. My one ring really need to be upgraded because I'm still just WSing in my Jaeger Ring which is really sad. Also, when I cap my GK merits I can swap out Potent Belt for a Warwolf Belt and get 2 more STR there. Another upgrade I could do is Alky gloves for a lot more STR but I'm content with my Hachiman for now. There are just so many upgrades that I really could and should do but I really don't want to bust my load on this if I don't haaave to. Honestly I'd rather save myself from buying the big ticket items and save gil for Morrigan set.
Last night I also came to the realization that I needed to fix my macros for SAM again because what I was doing just wasn't working and I was occasionally WSing without having my STR gear on. After thinking long and hard about it I finally discovered a way to make my macros work better for me. It may not be the most appropriate of ways, but I'm actually very pleased with how well it worked out. I actually tried them out during a Kirin last night and the were splendid. While I am on that note, that Kirin was parse and the winner was Kyrja followed by Khrone followed by me. Khrone didn't beat me by much and Kyrja didn't beat him by much, but they were cheating and using food and I was just doin it all natural. Man, my SAM could be super uber if I really wanted it to... ok, already talked about this. I do feel that I am having more fun playing with SAM though than I was just sitting on BRD or my crappy BLM waiting to see stuff happen. There was also a god fight that Thebossman, who just joined the shell, was the top parser and I wasn't too far behind him. In his defense he did tank a little bit in that fight and I think I only missed 1 WS and crit'd 2. His DRK is REALLY well geared and I wish I had half the stuff he did.
Anyways, this has turned into a long winded post again ... whoops. Tonight I will be running around with Khrone again and then back home to play volleyball then back out to his house. I think tonight I will take off from sky to merit some more. My thoughts are still to keep meriting this week still and then swap over to MNK starting at some point this weekend. Getting back to Maat's Cap again because Brian asked so politely. :P

A New View on Things
I guess I'll just go chronologically through the weekend as I normally do.
Friday I got some merits and then went to a birthday party. After the birthday party I went out to a bar and saw a kid I hadn't seen since like 9th grade. He told me about this band that was playing at Cebar's in Euclid, Sumrada. What he didn't know is that I have known that family for basically my entire life and they are actually cousins of one of my best friends growing up ... small world.
Saturday I woke up and promptly begain meriting again with Mactatus and it seems every party I am in with him at the bird camps does about 20k/hr. I mean we were TEARING through mobs like they were Easy Prey. At the end of the day I was sitting at 4/5 Store TP so I decided to upgrade my gear a little more and got 2 pieces of Hachiman gear. The hands will be a permanent addition and the feet are going to be for WSing now until I can get a pair of rutters. Which by the way, I did have a rutter run with Mac and Dray helping out, Mac tanking and Dray for the TH3, but sadly they didn't drop. It was a rather easy fight for Mac so hopefully I can get another air tank and get it to drop this next time.
After gaming I went to the bar to see Sumrada play and had a fun night. Afterwards I went home and Khrone was supposed to just stay at my house but he ended up stopping at someone else's house after the bar. I was then later woken up by my brother I live with to here that Khrone tried driving home (about a 30 min drive) and fell asleep at the wheel. He rolled his Jeep on the freeway and somehow walked away without even literally a scratch. When I heard that he rolled his Jeep I don't think I have ever frozen up like that before. I mean I was literally in a daze and broke out in a cold sweat, it was almost like I had a near death experience. Luckily he is fine and today he said he wasn't even really sore but his Jeep was totalled. Since we work together I have become his personal PL, I mean driver, since we work at the same place anyways. So this week I dunno my availability for anything since I will be spending my time working around his schedule too.
Sunday was just spent meriting again as I want to horde as much as I could to finally finish Store TP to 5/5, which I did, and be able to move on to something that will help me do more damage on my WS, like GK skill which is now level 3 as well. I think I will spend the time to get GK 8/8 and Overwhelm at 3/5 and then get back to Maat's Cap jobs. Those are the biggest 2 increases in damage and accuracy before it gets kind of retarded to upgrade anymore. As it stands to just get to that point I will need 27 merits which is quite a daunting task. I think I may call it quits for meriting after this week unless I get those 27 merits first. Samurai is a fun job and I can start doing some great damage on it but I don't really feel the need to completely cap merits on it and pimp it all out. Besides, I honestly want to get back to MNK and working towards Maat's Cap.
Some sad news this weekend, LolFail has ceased to be a sky shell. Sush decided he was done with sky and handed over the reigns of sky to Zalorolo who has seemingly picked up Hybrid as the 2nd in command. From what I understand it wasn't a pretty split because Sush did take the bank for the week which A LOT of people were angry about and he supposedly took the pop items and sold them as well for himself to keep. The word on the street is that Sush did walk away with about 6M in pop items and gil items from the week. As for the other pop items that Hulc had I don't know what happened to those. I don't feel the need to state my opinion because its mine and I like to stay unbiased either way. I know Sush wants me to roll with them for low man sky to just strictly get gil which I am perfectly ok with because gil has always been the problem with me in my career in FFXI. On the other hand I feel that the other friends I have made through LolFail would be mad at me for going with him to do that. It seems that I am damned if I do, damned if I don't because I know I could do better for my char if I went with Sush, but do better for more people if I went with Relentless (the new sky shell). Since I don't really have to decide either way for now I will just soak up the extra time I have with Khrone and try to either help him get more stuff done, like missions and assaults, or merit and exp to go for Maat's Cap. As for if either group needs/wants me to help out I am more than willing to, like how Sush and I duo'd a Despot this weekend and made a quick and easy 225k a piece. Or if Khrone wants to get back to sky to finish off his pieces of gear and maybe get me an Osode in the process I'm down for that as well. Time will tell to see where I end up. Although, sea does sound nice because I could get my enfeebling cape that I am aching to get. Ok, this post has gone on long enough...
Tonight I will be moving my PC to Khrone's house because it seems I'll be staying there for the next few nights at least. Khrone and I have found a new toy to play with though so that will probably take up some of our time tonight playing with that. He will probably be doing a lot of car searching since he is still carless and I will probably be doing a lot of exping, hehe. Hopefully I can get my old PC working again as well because I think the power supply died on me and it has taken me literally months to do anything about it. So I'll have my work cut out for me tonight.

SAM FTW
My trek to 75 on another job is done. Samurai is now 75! It was a long and kinda fun journey that is finally over. There were many ups and downs in exp but I don't think anything was worse than 74. I literally went from about 5k into 74, all the way to 75 just in campaign battles. It was painful but I was able to do it. Once I broke into 75 I decided to splurge and buy myself a bunch of the other gear that a 75 SAM should have: Wyvern Helm, Brutal Earring, and my long awaited Hagun.
Once I dinged into 75 I was excited to buffer and merit on it but sadly I wasn't allowed to since I had 0 merits. Since then I got a quite different merit party which did about 30k in about 2 hours. It was 3xBLU, RDM, BRD, and me as SAM/DNC leaving up Aspir Samba. This party was actually really fun and got me a 20k buffer on SAM and 2 more merits to play with. My merits for SAM are now up to 2 GK and 2 Store TP. Once I finish Store TP merits I need to work on Overwhelm and GK skill because I will have my 6-hit set up so more damage and accuracy is what needs to be worked on next. I would like to keep meriting to have a very respectable SAM before I get back to MNK but I dunno, I could probably try to sneak in both at the same time but I know how doing multiple things at once is such a pain.
My next job will be MNK which means I have to keep my eye out for gear that I should snag to get it to 66. From now on all jobs are just going to 66 because I am quite overloaded on gear right now so I can't handle any more 75s to gear up. As for some of the random gear I still have sitting around from other jobs, I will just keep it for now as long as I can use it in the short term for a next job that I will be leveling. So like I plan on doing DRG after MNK so I will hold on to my Assault Earring for now since I will hopefully be using it in a few weeks.
Ugh, a few weeks per job, that does not sound fun. I still have a very long trip til Maat's Cap but at least I have something to look forward to after all of my hard work.
Something actually Sky related though, I got N Body last night. Kirin was nice enough to drop 2 to us since there were 2 of us hoping for N Bodies. That leaves me at 2 R/EX pieces of gear left that are worth getting in Sky, N Hands and W Hands. After those 2 I will be becoming a strictly part time member or an as needed member as there will be very little that I need from the sky shell besides gil and possibly an Osode that is basically way out of reach right now since there are so many outside farmers that leave me in the dust. I have accepted that there is no way for me to get an Osode in this LS so I will just stick to my plan of weekly payouts and 2 or 3 days a week of sky and then working on my next jobs to 66 or meriting my current jobs a little better.
One thing I do have to learn to do is try to make some gil. I have my RDM/NIN all ready to roll but I have yet to try to use it to do something like Despot. Getting Despot just once will get me some good gil that would easily buy me another nice piece of gear or a cursed item or something along those lines.
Anyways, I need to get back to work because I'm so far behind from going to class the past 2 days. This weekend I will also be visiting my gf for Valentine's Day, so no gaming at all until Sunday. Then Sunday I get to jump right back into a hopeful Dynamis-Beaucedine and then up to sky. Hope we mow through our team we play on Sunday for volleyball so I can get back ASAP to rape some mobs and maybe (year right) get a RDM body. :D .... yeah, I'm dreamin.

Getting Despot just once will get me some good gil that would easily buy me another nice piece of gear or a cursed item or something along those lines.
Anyways, I need to get back to work because I'm so far behind from going to class the past 2 days. This weekend I will also be visiting my gf for Valentine's Day, so no gaming at all until Sunday. Then Sunday I get to jump right back into a hopeful Dynamis-Beaucedine and then up to sky. Hope we mow through our team we play on Sunday for volleyball so I can get back ASAP to rape some mobs and maybe (year right) get a RDM body. :D .... yeah, I'm dreamin.

Almost There
Instead of going up to sky, I decided to sit around in campaign trying to get my SAM to 75 while having my flag up. Sadly, NO PARTY INVITES in about 4 hours so it was purely campaigning last night and probably will be tonight. But I am under 15k to 75!!! I also decided that I am not going up to sky tonight until I'm 75. Once I hit 75 and get at least a few thousand exp buffer I can go up then.
It will feel so great to be done with another job as far as exping it to 75. All I would have to do is buffer and merit it which I'm not TOO worried about at this exact moment. I do plan on at least getting a good amount of buffer and merits into it before I start back on MNK so I don't have a lot of gear just laying around that I'm barely using. There is so much good gear that I am going to ding into also: Byakko's Haidate, Walahra Turban, Wyvern Helm (for WSs), and my newly acquired Brutal Earring!!!
Bruta Earring is actually a really funny story which will also lead into the quote of the day. So I got like 25 coins from Mobi for I believe 7k per coin which is what I was hoping to pay for them which brought me 8 coins shy of 75. Last night I asked the LS again if anyone had some more coins and Eltio had 7 which he sold me for 7.5k which was also an acceptable price for me. Now I only needed 1 more coin... AWESOME. Well I had seen somebody selling 4 coins for 8k each and some other guy selling 46 coins for 9.2k each. Wouldn't you know it, the guy selling the coins for 8k each was out of coins and the guy selling the 46 coins had 50 coins for 9.2k each. I kinda flipped my shit and started bitching in the LS which is when I pulled out a word that I hadn't heard in a long time ... thundercunt. Yes, I said the guy that bought the 8k coins and was reselling them for 9.2k was a thundercunt. Needless to say everyone else in the LS was like "WTF Mate?!?!" Anyways, the story gets going from there but much hilarity ensued.
There is one more HUGE thing I need for my SAM ... Hagun. I suppose I could settle for an Onimaru for now but I really just want a Hagun and be done with SAM, except for Rutters which I still have to pop. If I can't find some help tonight, I will make Khrone come tank it for me on his MNK/NIN to give him some practice tanking. So really only 2 big items I am missing for my SAM and it'll be very nice.
In response to Brian: Yes, sea gorgets are the best WS neck piece for SAM but also require a UFO organ which I don't have anyone to really help me get one. Sea gorgets are great for 1 hit WS because they add a straight 5% damage boost, but for multi-hit WS the bonus is definitely isn't there. Also, the sea torque is the best neck piece to TP in as well, but as I do not have a sea LS it is also out of my reach. These would be great pieces of gear to have but as I do not have the time to join a sea LS or have the friends to help me take down a UFO I'm kind of just gonna stay with my PCC/Chiv Chain combo.
Tonight: 75SAM and sky ... maybe snag me an N Body or something.

Tachi: Kasha
Well I have officially gotten Tachi: Kasha and can now solo a Light skillchain. The only thing is so far I have not had the chance to even try it out yet.
Last night I did another level sync party to 68 and it started off not so great. I had to teach the WHM, PLD, and RDM how to do their jobs. It actually got so bad at one point I had to bring Screamineagle out to help with healing and silena since the whm NEVER cast it. After Mobi left the party, new guy in LolFail with a KClub, the party was still chugging along and I was telling the WHM what a regen spell was and when to use it ... ALL THE TIME ON A PLD TANK!!! Then the RDM and WHM were both just cure bombing and taking hate all the time because they didn't know how to let the PLD keep hate by curing himself occasionally. Not to mention when an imp would silence him he wouldn't get a silena at all.
Once I got Screamin out there it got a little better because the PLD could actually use his MP and hold hate better. After a bit a new PLD came out to tank for us that was pretty good. He didn't use his abilities to hold hate as well as a great tank would but he could hold hate well which was a definite bonus because I could actually start using Hasso again after full timing Seigan for most of the party. Then THANKFULLY, the WHM left and we got a new one. This WHM was much better and had some crow gear on to help shed the hate from curing. After that the MNK got replaced and we started really owning. At that point it was already starting to get late but I could see our xp/hr climbing so I didn't want to leave. Finally I got 72 on SAM and halfway to 73 which I was very happy with even though in 1 East Ronfaure [S] party I could've done that in half the time.
There were a few spots where I thought I did a good job. The one time was when the MNK used his 2hr and was smackin the crap out of this Jnun and I was just using Hasso, not even Berserk too, and I was still pulling hate over him. It was a really good ego boost. haha I think that party also made me realize that SAM is seemingly a much better DD than MNK is so I guess I don't have to beat myself up over getting MNK to 75 and instead just to 66.
It is semi relaxing to know that I only have to go to 66 on the rest of my jobs after SAM since I will have all the jobs that I really want at 75 for now. I mean it would be nice to have jobs like DRK, MNK, or WHM at 75 but they aren't a necessity. All in all I will have the jobs I need for Salvage: SAM, RDM, and BRD. That gives me plenty of versatility t0 swap around between DD and support jobs. As I am looking at it right now, it seems Khrone would be our main tank in Salvage. lol
Another problem I have right now is not knowing what GK I should be using until I can even find a Hagun for sale. I am thinking about the latent GK but that is 200k and the other that I was thinking of is 100k. The other option is to go get a Gem of the North and try to get the GK off of Zip which is a pretty good GK. Oh well, it won't really matter until I'm 75 anyways since I will probably be level syncing until then.

Broken Latent
I'm now that much closer to being a full fledged SAM. I am now about 4k exp from 72 and I guess that means I need to drop a ton of gil and get a Hagun. Also, in the exp party I was in last night I got enough skill ups to start my Tachi: Kasha WS quest. After a quick Kirin last night I ended up going to Kuftal Tunnel and breaking the latent so now I just have to do the WSNM which supposedly isn't too hard.
Hopefully tonight I will be able to get Tachi: Kasha and maybe even do a Rutter Sabaton run. Because my volleyball game tonight is at 8 that kind of stops me from getting any exp tonight but at least that should leave enough time to go do Kasha and Rutter runs. We'll see what all I can actually get accomplished tonight.

SAM WS Gear
Before I jump straight into my WS gear at 75 I just want to mention that since I was snowed in and couldn't come in to work I worked from home. Yes, I actually did get some work done from home but I also got some leveling done while I was home. I didn't get 1 nor 2 levels on SAM, but 3 levels. Technically I got just over 2 levels since I was only about 600 til 69 when I stopped exping on Tuesday, but I can still toot my own horn and say 3 levels yesterday.
Hitting 71 is kind of big because that now opens up some gear and more options for me. One big piece of TP gear for now is my O Hat which is huge for ACC since I'm only using a STR+3 head piece right now. The other option it opens up for me is skilling up my GK high enough to work on Tachi: Kasha. What is really nice about this is that to create darkness I can use Screamineagle and do Swift Blade > Tachi: Gekko so I should be able to cruise to Tachi: Kasha pretty quickly. This also brings me 1 level shy of Hagun which should be a huge upgrade for me since I've been using Soboro since I got back to SAM. lol
SAM WS gear that is reasonable for me will probably go as follows.
Weapon: Hagun
Grip: Pole Grip
Ranged: Tiphia Sting (or Elvaan Sachet)
Head: Wyvern Helm
Neck: Chivalrous Chain (or sea gorgets)
Ear 1/2: Brutal Earring/Storm Loop...../Bushinomimi
Body: Kirin's Osode
Hands: Hachiman Kote (or Myochin Kote+1)
Ring 1/2: Rajas Ring/Flame Ring
Back: Amemet Mantle +1
Waist: Potent Belt (once GK is merited, Warwolf Belt)
Legs: Shura Haidate
Feet: Fourth Schuhs (Askar Gamieras but Rutter Sabatons are best)
There is not much on this list that shouldn't make sense right off the bat because it is basically just overloaded with STR. For the most part, STR is all I really need for my SAM WSs. As for adding up the total gil needed for stuff that wasn't included in my TP gear post, Wyvern Helm (30k), Kirin's Osode (2M or LS points), Hachiman Kote (50k), Flame Ring (500k), Shura Haidate (420k), and Fourth Schuhs (free). Rutter Sabatons I can't include on the gil item list because it is a drop from an NM so the expense would be getting the pop item which can be a wide range for the cost.
Total gil cost for WS gear not including TP gear: 3,000,000
Total gil cost for all SAM gear at 75: 6,981,000
OUCH!!!! If I spent that much on all my SAM gear I would be almost total tapped for gil. This isn't even for the uber gear like Hauby+1 either. There are a few spots that gil could be really cut out but I guess we will just have to see what I really feel like when I hit 75. One big cut could be me getting a Kirin's Osode from LS points which knocks 2M off the list. Another big cut could be getting a Ruby Ring instead of a Flame Ring which would knock off about 470k. Just between those 2 items right there that is almost 2.5M off my WS gear list. Now that I am thinking about it, maybe I should just stick with the Ruby Ring instead of the Flame ring since there is only 1 STR difference.
I guess I should look at realistically what I plan on spending on SAM between both sets of gear: Wyvern Helm (30k), Hachiman Kote (50k), Ruby Ring (30k), Shura Haidate (420k), Hagun(3.1M), Pole Grip(36k), and Brutal Earring(~525k, 7k/coin). Which brings my SAM total to: 4,191,000. That is much more reasonable especially considering 3/4 of that is still just Hagun which is resellable.
Spending all of this gil on my SAM will definitely motivate me to go make more gil for myself because I hate not having at least a couple million gil on me. I am one to save gil and not to take the risks of buying my uber gear then getting bored with it and selling it back. To me that is just a waste of the AH taxes that you are spending on it. Anyways, I know a few things I want to do to get some gil going for myself but we shall have to see how that pans out because I know its going to be a pain to get the right people to go with us.
This evening I am going to try one of my options for gil making before sky and hope that works out for me. Then it'll be up to sky for more Kirins and all that jazz. Tonight will be my last night of gaming until Sunday since I am going to visit my gf this weekend. Hopefully next week I can crank out my last few levels on SAM and then get all my required items for it.

SAM TP Gear
As I didn't get any leveling done on SAM last night I am kinda sad. It was relatively uneventful in sky because now that we don't really want W Legs as much Kirin is poopin them out like its his job. The problem is that he's not shooting out N Bodies which is possibly the 2nd most wanted r/ex item for us in sky now because everyone is getting W Legs. Haidates are coming pretty well too since we did get to sell one this week already.
Anyways, back to what I really want to talk about ... SAM TP build (@75 of course). The gear I use until 75 is rather unimportant because it is all just going to change quickly anyways. I guess I should just list the gear and then explain why I chose this stuff afterwards.

Most of the gear is probably pretty easy to understand. The only gear that I would actually have to get is Hagun(3.1M), Pole Grip(36k), Brutal Earring(~525k, 7k/coin), Dusk Gloves(320k), and trade in my Fuma Kyahan for Fuma Sune-Ate(+200k). So I'm looking somewhere in the range of about 4M to really complete my SAM to the extent that I want it for TP gear, and over 3/4 of it is just Hagun. Guess that means I really need to get back in the swing of doing that ENM.
Now just to clarify something that may be confusing is my hands slot. The purpose for the change in gear once I am 5/5 Store TP is for the 6 hit set up for SAM which is amazing. In order to get enough Store TP to make it possible I either have to go overboard with Store TP or wait until I have it merited. Now, Dusk Gloves are great before having 5/5 Store TP since the Haste will do more than the STP +8. Once capping STP, Haste+3% doesn't even compare to the 1 less swing of your GK that you would do with the Hachiman Kote so I would definitely save money once I have that merited because the Kote are A LOT less expensive. Whew, glad I could get this off of my chest because it was bugging me that I didn't realize I didn't account for the 6-hit setup.
There are 2 items on that list that I would like that I didn't list above, Bushinomimi and Usukane Sune-Ate. Bushi is really so I can round out a STR+2 earring and have the extra GK skill. Also, the Suppa that I have I almost NEVER use anymore because I never melee with 2 weapons anymore so replacing it is no big deal. Then Usukane Sune-Ate would be great because of the Store TP, accuracy, and attack, but I do realize that this is kind of a pipe dream because any group that I join is going to have people looking for those already and I'd much prefer to get morrigan gear over those.
I also excluded some items from this list that I feel just aren't worth it for me to get because it wouldn't be a good use of my time and gil. Some of those items inclue Hauby +1, Justice Torque, and Ace's Helm/Askar Zuccheto. The Askar is the most reasonable piece for me to get but I just don't see it happening because any group I've gone with almost always says free lot on Goliard or Denali but not Askar because the person going on the run wants it for himself. So realistically I would have to wait for one of my own friends to get up that high and go with them ... cough, thanks for leaving Swifman, cough. :P

Tonight I may actually skip sky just so I can level my SAM since I didn't yesterday at all. I would also really like to get some good sleep tonight because I am really tired and I can't handle not sleeping much anymore. Although I do have this funny feeling that I'm going to be suckered into going up because they will probably be short a BRD for Kirin. Guess as always we will have to wait and see...

Most of the gear is probably pretty easy to understand. The only gear that I would actually have to get is Hagun(3.1M), Pole Grip(36k), Brutal Earring(~525k, 7k/coin), Dusk Gloves(320k), and trade in my Fuma Kyahan for Fuma Sune-Ate(+200k). So I'm looking somewhere in the range of about 4M to really complete my SAM to the extent that I want it for TP gear, and over 3/4 of it is just Hagun. Guess that means I really need to get back in the swing of doing that ENM.
Now just to clarify something that may be confusing is my hands slot. The purpose for the change in gear once I am 5/5 Store TP is for the 6 hit set up for SAM which is amazing. In order to get enough Store TP to make it possible I either have to go overboard with Store TP or wait until I have it merited. Now, Dusk Gloves are great before having 5/5 Store TP since the Haste will do more than the STP +8. Once capping STP, Haste+3% doesn't even compare to the 1 less swing of your GK that you would do with the Hachiman Kote so I would definitely save money once I have that merited because the Kote are A LOT less expensive. Whew, glad I could get this off of my chest because it was bugging me that I didn't realize I didn't account for the 6-hit setup.
There are 2 items on that list that I would like that I didn't list above, Bushinomimi and Usukane Sune-Ate. Bushi is really so I can round out a STR+2 earring and have the extra GK skill. Also, the Suppa that I have I almost NEVER use anymore because I never melee with 2 weapons anymore so replacing it is no big deal. Then Usukane Sune-Ate would be great because of the Store TP, accuracy, and attack, but I do realize that this is kind of a pipe dream because any group that I join is going to have people looking for those already and I'd much prefer to get morrigan gear over those.
I also excluded some items from this list that I feel just aren't worth it for me to get because it wouldn't be a good use of my time and gil. Some of those items inclue Hauby +1, Justice Torque, and Ace's Helm/Askar Zuccheto. The Askar is the most reasonable piece for me to get but I just don't see it happening because any group I've gone with almost always says free lot on Goliard or Denali but not Askar because the person going on the run wants it for himself. So realistically I would have to wait for one of my own friends to get up that high and go with them ... cough, thanks for leaving Swifman, cough. :P

Tonight I may actually skip sky just so I can level my SAM since I didn't yesterday at all. I would also really like to get some good sleep tonight because I am really tired and I can't handle not sleeping much anymore. Although I do have this funny feeling that I'm going to be suckered into going up because they will probably be short a BRD for Kirin. Guess as always we will have to wait and see...

Cap on Hold
Now that I've hit and surpassed my level 66 goal for SAM I am putting Maat's Cap on hold. Guess that means its still blitz to 75 for SAM time. So all free time in FFXI will still remain devoted to SAM and hopefully just exping in the East Ron [S] bird camp since I have discovered that basically no camp can really compare to it pre-merit parties.
I am getting more and more excited about getting SAM to 75 though because it will be exciting to have a job to really be a strong DD as opposed to my kinda gimp WAR. Even when my SAM hits 75 I will still have a lot of work to do on it merit wise though. As of right now I can't put any merits into anything worthwhile for SAM except more STR merits but I swore off STR merits until I got at least a good number of merits into my other jobs that I use more, like BLM, RDM, or BRD. I'll get back to merits later though. For SAM I am really thinking about trying to get an Air Tank now to so I can get me a pair of Rutter Sabatons. This would be a huge upgrade for my SAM because as of right now I'm just weapon skilling in my Fuma Kyahan which is totally worthless. As of right now I don't think there are any other pieces of gear I want because most will become worthless by the time I am not level syncing anymore. I will probably end up level syncing to 37 or to 55 because of the great exp that you can get at the bird camps at those levels, really nothing else can compare. So really the Fourth Haube Set is totally worthless for me since there are better pieces in the 70s with the exception of Rutter Sabatons at 67.
Now getting back to merits, which normally I would just say look at the merits sheet on my google docs but none of you have access besides Khrone and Disdain, I think I will lay out the merits I want.
1) RDM: Ice Magic Accuracy - 5 merits til complete
2) SAM: GK skill - at least a few before moving on to some others
3) SAM: Store TP - 5 which would take me to cap on this
4) SAM: Overwhelm - 3 because after that the increase drops from 5% to 2%
5) SAM: Meditate - 5

New Year, New Updates
I guess this would be Happy New Year since I haven't posted in here since before then. Since New Year's I have gotten deathly ill and gamed a bunch. The deathly ill part really sucked because my fever was between 100.7 and 103 for almost 5 days. I was so sick I couldn't even really game, and that's baaaaaaaaad. Since I've gotten better I've been back at it with my SAM.
My SAM AF is now completed and I have gotten up to 63. SAM is actually pretty fun now because I have a powerful WS. NINs almost have no chance to tank against me now its actually quite funny. The NIN I was with last night was just quite terrible anyways. I don't think he understands that in order to tank he needs more enmity and using an amemet mantle (not even +1) isn't going to gain him enough hate to tank over me or the DRK, he really needed a High Breathe Mantle. SAM is only going to get better as I level because I will only be getting stronger and stronger and then at 65 I can get Gekko and then self-skill chain Fragmentation (insta-hate lol). There are still a few gear upgrades I need to make to my SAM but they are relatively cheap so I'm not worried, its just finding them on the AH.
Some sad news has been brought to my attention, Drackonus was apparently banned for some reason this past week. I have no clue what brought about this turn of events but I was saddened to hear this. Best of luck in the real world now Drack, you will be missed.
As for other news, Khrone finally paid me back in full. This is kind of disconcerting to me because now I don't have that over him anymore ... poopy. It is nice to be paid back in full though since that now puts me over 5M on myself ... w00t. Now I need to start finding those big ticket items I always wanted to spend my gil on, like Morrigan gear, which I have no time to actually go do since my RL schedule is very demanding now. I did get invited to Allegro's (Cedrick) salvage group, but seeing as their run times are 11AM it doesn't so much work out for me unless I came in to work early and took an extended lunch every day.
I think once I finish off my dryadic gear and heca gear I will just call it quits for sky for the most part. That would finish me off for sky gear anyways so the only reason I would be going is for payout which is changing around this week on how to get payout. This means I'll stick around enough for payouts but other than that I think I will stay out of sky unless I'm doing some farming for myself, like a Despot or something. I am pretty sure everyone is out of my way for Dryadic gear now which is really nice, no more having to wait for it to be 5 points ... hazzah!
Well, it seems I have said enough for today. Brian, I got Van's MSN for you, I just have to remember to e-mail it to you tonight with my e-mail address to open your blog to me again. Til tomorrow I suppose.

Final Update of the Year
My productivity in game has been a little low lately as my gf has been home and spending a lot of time with me. Most of my other free time has been spent trying to rearrange my room and clean my room and on the rare occasion hang out with some friends.
As far as out of game goes, my Christmas gifts weren't all that because I got like 3 articles of clothing and then some drawers and laundry hampers. That's pretty much why I've been rearranging my room a little because I've been trying to make room for it. I also got a new DVD rack which was really nice because I was completely out of space on my old one. As for what I asked for for Christmas was a lot of movies and I only got 3, Troy(Blu-Ray), Boiler Room(DVD), and a huge box set for I Am Legend(Blu-Ray). My room is pretty much reorganized but still needs to be cleaned (since I didn't get the hot maid I asked for or the hot personal assistant) but I still need to find a better place for my Rock Band 2 drum set.
As for in game, I've done a lot of AF hunting because I haven't really had time to exp at all. I am perfectly ok with not exping because I wanted to have my SAM AF helmet before I got back to SAM since I would probably hit 60 in my next party. My SAM is really exciting because I have a lot of really nice gear for it and at 59 I get my Hauby which will really help out with damage and accuracy since it has DEX and ACC bonuses.
But before even starting on my SAM AF I had to finish my DRG AF which wasn't really all that hard to do. Its nice having a 2nd char because I can basically duo everything now including all the really tough fights. Probably the hardest part of all the AF that I've done thus far has been the Temple of Ugg. coffer that I had to get for my SAM because it was in the hardest to reach spot. I went in with Screamin and found that it was behind 2 locked doors. Luckily 1 key wasn't too hard to get and the 2nd one I could aggro mobs through to open the door. The biggest problem was that Screamin ended up having about 4 mobs beating on him while I had to run and snag my coffer. Luckily the mob by the coffer had just turned away so I could grab it and then invis, run back to screamin and have him tele out. The only way I would be able to do that was Invincible on him and then tele. I ALMOST didn't make it because he had paralyze on him and if that would've stopped him from casting I was toast.
Now my next test will be the SAM AF helm fight. That I'm actually kind of excited to do because I want to duo it with MNK/DNC and RDM/WHM. It is supposedly soloable by a MNK/DNC but I figure with my RDM there to help out on cures while Screamin's MNK just destroys the mobs it should be fun. My plan right now is: Phalanx 2 on Screamin with other buffs, run in and get enough TP for Drain Samba 2, use it, then 2hr and take out the BLM and hopefully start on the DRK, take down the DRK, and then have a nice and easy time taking out the SMN. This sounds really easy to me so I'm happy to try it out. Hopefully I can try it out next weekend when I'm back in town. It will probably only be like a 5 or 10 min fight which is kind of funny since the run to the actual fight and prepping will more than likely take longer. Once I get this fight done and get my SAM kabuto I will be ready to go back in full swing with exping SAM. And my goal for SAM is being 66 in 3 weeks which I think is definitely doable even with sky events since I will have weekends free again as I don't plan on going to visit my gf for at least a few weeks.
This next week I will be in Chicago for the first time for New Year's events and to do the whole tourist thing with my gf. Should be pretty fun, hope I don't think too much about ^^ while I'm there. lol

Free Time
It is nice having free time again. I actually get to relax and do as I please. What I have been doing a lot of lately has been SAM leveling which is pretty fun. I realize that I don't have the drive that I used to with leveling but its nice to see me cruising through all of these levels.
My SAM hit 58 last night just before logging off because I was so tired. I am now only 1 level from Hauby, 2 levels from AF helm to help with Meditate (which I don't have yet), 3 levels from Minuet earring, 3 levels from Amemet +1 (which is very welcome upgrade), and I guess 1 or 2 levels from a good weapon skill! So much to come in the next few levels that will really help my SAM do some extra damage and take Enpi and Jinpu out of my arsenal. The thing I dread is after these next few levels I will be hitting the dreaded 60s and not see much as far as upgrades to gear or job abilities or anything really. Sekkanoki at 65 will be pretty hot but other than that I'm just looking forward to the 70s when I get LOTS of upgrades.
There in lies another problem, stop at 66 or go to 75? I'd like to go to 75 but Khrone was saying that I should stop at 66 and keep rolling for Maat's Cap. This is such a struggle for me because as much as I'd love to still go for Maat's Cap I don't really know if I can make it without taking a real break from the LS and completely concentrating on leveling again. It is a real time sink for one of the best overall head pieces in the game but also quite an accomplishment. I think I'd still like to have SAM or MNK at 75 before I go for Maat's Cap again but that is another job to 66 that I could be using that exp on. Argh, I guess it'll be how I feel when I hit 66 and see where I want to go.
Nyzul Isle went better this week, but still not great. We won 2 runs this week with a bad incident that caused us to lose the one time. It was a lesson learned so we will be sure not to wipe on that NM again. The biggest problem was that we were 2/3, as in we only did 3 runs instead of the full 4 again that we were hoping to do. That's 2 weeks in a row now to not have done a full 4 runs which is kind of annoying since I sit on tags to get us going. When we don't use that tag its basically a wasted tag because I could've gone on another boss fight run with another group. Oh well, hopefully next week we can get 4 runs in before I bounce for Chicago. I should be able to get Sunday away from the woman because I will need to finish packing since we leave basically right after I get out of work on Monday. Then after the holidays I think we are going to try and start doing twice a week so we can really get us moving through these floors as we all really want to get to floor 100 ASAP. That way we can go back and start owning the other floors for gear and be working on our new weapon skills. I'm more looking forward to the good gear because the Goliard Hands and Body are really good upgrades for my RDM which are much welcome.
Tonight will be gf time since we're doing dinner and gift exchange tonight. So I doubt there will be an update tomorrow as I won't really have anything to talk about. Til next time.

I should be able to get Sunday away from the woman because I will need to finish packing since we leave basically right after I get out of work on Monday. Then after the holidays I think we are going to try and start doing twice a week so we can really get us moving through these floors as we all really want to get to floor 100 ASAP. That way we can go back and start owning the other floors for gear and be working on our new weapon skills. I'm more looking forward to the good gear because the Goliard Hands and Body are really good upgrades for my RDM which are much welcome.
Tonight will be gf time since we're doing dinner and gift exchange tonight. So I doubt there will be an update tomorrow as I won't really have anything to talk about. Til next time.

Mighty Morphing Power LS
Good news, our LS has changed again! The LS will now be selling every other Haidate to buyers.
This has up sides and down sides. The up side, the people that are looking more for the payout will get exactly that, a bigger payout from us selling the Haidates for 4.75M. The down side, the people that thought they were so close to Haidate have just been bumped down the list by 2x. For example, Khrone was 5th on the list for Haidate so now he is actually 10th. At least he will still be getting his bigger payouts now and maybe our attrition rate for sky will be higher than it seemingly has been because of those bigger payouts. The reasoning behind this change is that newer people were flying up the list for Haidate and not really deserving of it and then leaving the LS once they got it. Thus making it another point to keep people in the LS or those that are just trying to leech out of the LS. I just feel sorry for Hybrid and Khrone because they are going to have to wait longer for their Haidates. There has been more of a push though for more Byakko out put though, like the new goal is 4-6 a week which also means hitting the dio/despot farm hard.
I also got a chance to roll out with Disdain and Khrone to the bird camp in the past. We rolled with 5 people and a PL with 2xDRK, 2xSAM, and DNC plus Screamin as a PL. I almost never ran out of MP because I had just gotten a discounted Vermy from Hybrid (thank you sir) for when I helped him out. We ROCKED that spot and I went from 51-54 on SAM without much of a problem. It was a great party, especially when you are doing 10k+/hr on a level 37-41 job. My only wish is that I could use my Soboro for some fun fun damage and weapon skilling. I also really wish I wasn't main tanking because I was full timing Seigan and Third Eye which meant my damage output wasn't what it could have been, but it was still good damage when I could break out Hasso because someone else pulled a lot of hate.
I don't have much time left in the day, so I'll come to a quite quick ending. Tonight I'll probably be with my gf most of the night if not all of the night so that means I don't even know if I'll get to log on for sky tonight which means they probably won't be able to do Kirin. Well, they might if they have all the right people up there.... /sigh. Anyways, until tomorrow.

Soboro Sukehiro
Well, this week has turned out pretty darn good for me, first Byakko Haidate and now Soboro Sukehiro. I must say I am quite pleased with myself now. My SAM is going to shape out to be pretty fun to level now.
I finally broke down and bought Fuma Kyahan on Tuesday night because there was no way I was going to camp that stupid NM since all I have heard are horror stories, for instance Mactatus being 0/54 on it. Now I have a lot of really good gear for myself between 50 and 75. My list contains Fuma, Soborro, Swift Belt, Rajas Ring, Jaeger Ring, Storm Loop, and now Soboro. That gear right there could basically take me to 75 right now. As for a body piece I have Jujitsu Gi until my Hauby which I can use til end game. The only piece that I am kind of lacking on is a head piece. I plan on buying Valkyrie Mask but someone was trying to up the price on it. Although, last night while we were farming tar in the 40 cap Riverne site we found that the Carmine Dobsonflies were up. So tonight or maybe this weekend some time I'd love to get out there and blow them up as getting a Voyager Sallet would really top off my gear until end game.
That brings me to my actual end game gear in sky. Tonight we will probably be trying to do 2xKirin which means Sush has a good chance of being done with the LS. Which also means I need to try to get my hands on whatever I possibly can. I have decided that Heca isn't nearly a priority for myself as Dryadic gear since I feel that it would take less of an effort to get Heca gear from outside the LS as it would Dryadic. Plus I just feel that I could really deck out my SAM better than I could my WAR. The biggest problem of course lies in the Hagun, which is hands down the expensive part of SAM since it is 3.2M right now. Guess that means I need to keep a group going on ENM runs to try and get it to drop. Can we see that I'm getting ahead of myself since my SAM is only 51 and Hagun is 72 and I'm just as far from Shura gear as well. lol Oh the thrill and excitement of another job to 75.
Tonight I have volleyball so between that and sky I don't think I'll have any time to level my SAM. Then tomorrow night my gf will be home and I will probably be with her all night as the same goes for Saturday because she loves to spend every second with me. Maybe I can get a hiatus from her and be able to exp SAM on Sunday. Hopefully sit in the bird camp for about 5 levels or so to just get myself rolling again. Oh snap, I just remembered I haven't done my AF for SAM yet either ... dammit. Guess that's something else I have to get going on especially since I have to finish my DRG AF before I can do my SAM.
Ok BESIDES, what my future plans are beyond tonight, I still have sky tonight. We have at least 1 Kirin pop set and then depending on what else we can farm or already have we may be able to do some lesser gods and possibly another Kirin. I am just hoping that I will be able to get something tonight to help with my gear selection for end game on MNK and SAM. We shall see what this evening brings I suppose.

YOWSA!!!
I FINALLY had a great night again. My internet stayed on, my power stayed on, my cable stayed on, and I even got a great party! I got 6 total levels last night, 5 on my SAM and 1 on my DRK. There is the most amazing leveling place at lower levels that I have ever been around. At one point I was doing 22k/hr with my ring on, but when my ring wore off I was doing a steady 17k+/hr, not to mention we had a chain 18 at one point. I have decided that I need to stay there as much as possible until I can hit the mid 50s and do the puks or colibri in AU to avoid the exp cap and get some more ISP to go after Khroma Ore, but it would be easier to stick with PLing in that spot because of the lower level mobs to make it easier on the PL.
But I mean I probably got about 40k exp last night in that 1 party because I am about 1k from 52 on SAM now also. Then after me using my exp scrolls on MNK to finish that to 50 I can use them to get my SAM quickly to 52 and then I'd probably just keep using them on BST. Oh this is going gloriously again ... THANKFULLY!
Right now I need to be averaging about 3.5 levels per day which is definitely doable if I can stick with doing that exp in my new camp. :D I mean if I can be doing even just 50k/day there I will be FLYING through levels like its nothing. I also just calculated that if I can average 50k/day I can have Maat's Cap done in 60 days... 2 MONTHS!!! This is not including AF gathering and skilling up from lack of higher level exping, but this would be a HUGE jump in the right direction. I would actually put me about a month ahead of schedule which I should be able to easily catch up in that month with gear and skilling up no problem even with my gf being home for most of December. WOO HOO!!!
Man, this is so exciting I just got completely pumped about leveling again which is great because I was starting to get a little disinterested in it lately from just overall being in a bad mood and not having any luck. Now that I know about this spot I can easily get parties there for that or if I really wanted I could go solo/duo my way even further than that just by level syncing with someone at 41 or 42 and turning it into a great exp spot again! My only reservation about ALWAYS level syncing down there is that there is still an experience cap below 51 so I still have a higher potential exp gain 51+ but I think as long as I could consistently hit good parties there I will stick with it as much as I can. This should also convince Khrone to level more jobs to 37 so he can blitz through that area with me and possibly even get it them to 45 or so by duoing.
Ok, enough excitement for now and I need to get some more work done anyways. Goal for today: I think I will make my goal for today 45 on DRK. Its a lofty goal of 7 levels, but with my DRK being good at this camp from 37 to 41 and then being able to grab Khrone's NIN after that from 37 to 41 I should easily be able to hit 45 just tonight. Here is to hoping!

Baby Steps
Back to the basics, DON'T WATCH TV WHILE GAMING!!! I died like 3 times last night because I kept getting side tracked by watching TV. DAMN YOU CABLE!!! But I did get to see USC lose to Oregon State which definitely made my night even if I didn't make the level that I really hoped for. It was a grand adventure none the less.
I was out there soloing for a looooong time and there were these 2 guys running around by me so they knew I was there. Then about 30 min before I was gonna leave they started a little party and were trying to take my pets. Boy did I get made, so I kept taking the pets and killing them faster than them ... serves them right. Granted I had already gotten 3 levels out there on my SAM which ended about halfway to 47 which I can live with. Leveling out there was cake because I was just owning those pets which was amazing. Whoever says SAM can't tank is full of it because when I can counter, parry, have multiple third eyes activate, and cut the recast of third eye to 30 seconds I think I tank pretty gosh darn well. Granted the counter from seigan doesn't give me TP, but when I hit for 60-70 per hit (sometimes up to 110) it is still a huge boost to my damage output. Plus I get more TP from when I do get hit and if I actually put on some tanking type gear I would be doin pretty darn well I think. Maybe even create an AGI build so I parry more often. But this is just a tangent, back to the matter at hand. Now I NEED to get SAM to 50 on Sunday or I'm gonna have a big hole to dig myself out of all of next week to hit my goal.
I am also hoping that next weekend I will be able to get a big boost from having all of saturday and all of sunday free. By the end of next weekend I NEED to have SAM, DRK, and DRG done and be at least started on THF. Its no small task but if I buckle down and not get distracted like I was this past week I should be able to do it. SAM done by end of the day on Sunday (depending on when I get home), DRK done by Thursday, DRG done by Saturday or Sunday, and then have THF started on Sunday. That sounds like a good 1 week goal.

Lacking progress
First off, Brian made me 2 pretty slick loooking sigs. I dunno how I feel about wearing the AFv2 Hat and Dalmatica in them because it kinda just makes me think about end game which I don't do at all right now. Knowing that, it doesn't take away at all from how cool they look.

I did get some things done in game last night, but again not nearly what I hoped. I started and finished my AF weapon quest for SAM which is good because then I could sell my other GKT and just use my AF weapon until 50. After that I went for a choco ride and got my exp scroll to push my MNK closer to 50 which it is now just a little over 3k to 50. The choco race actually ended in Bastok so I figured I should at least go flag my AF weapon quest for MNK since I was there already. After that I had to run off somewhere.
When I came back there was some drama going on at my house and I was just trying to stay quiet in my room while it all went down. Then while it was going down Swifman asked me if I wanted to go try out some Nyzul Isle with him and some of his LS and I finally broke down and went. We were trying to go from 51-55 and ended up failing because someone read the directions wrong on the second last floor which we could've easily won after then, but oh well. I also ended up getting the BLM staff which is pretty cool. If at all possible I would LOVE to get the mythic weapon for BLM because it is just OMFGWTFBBQ good, but I know I never will. :P I probably should've just passed on it now that I think about it because there's no way in Hades that I will have a chance of completing it and as for the WS ... I'm never gonna use it on BLM ... oh well.
After that I decided to get my butt back to SAM and I ended up only getting 1 level on it which brings me to 43. I decided since I did so well at 44 in Cape Terrigan I was gonna try to go there at 43 on my SAM. So I have myself and Screamin sitting in Bastok ready to tele out to Altepa and then make the walk to Cape Terrigan through Kuftal and then rape some rabbits. And if all goes according to plan I should be able to hit 48 just tonight out there. If I can break out 5 levels tonight it will put me more on track to where I need to be, but still leaves me behind on where I want to be. We can't have everything we hope though right?
Goal for tonight: SAM at 48

Life blows
Seriously, can't things just go well for once. I haven't really had amazing news in over a week. The last like 10 days have been total crap for me. I'm falling behind on my Maat's Cap goals because of people that are incapable of playing their jobs well (like my NIN last night). My internet died on me when I was actually in a good party. My power was out for like 3 days. My power went out again 2 nights ago and I think somehow fried something on my PS3 because it has decided to stop outputting sound ... AT ALL. Crap upon crap keeps building up and its just really starting to get to me.
When I was on MNK I felt like I was moving so fast in CN just soloing but now when I was there on SAM I felt like I was moving so slowly even though I think I'm doing more DPS. What the deuce is going on?! This crap needs to stop happening to me and let me have something good happen to me for once in a while.
I only got 2 friggin levels on my SAM which is crap considering I was online for like 5 hours last night. That's me averaging like what, 2k/hr? Then I got into this one party with 2xBST/NIN, NIN, SAM(me), SCH, and BLM and the NIN couldn't hold hate for shit. I mean 2 swings by me and I was tanking, which I got sick of holding back and just kept unleashing on it and then tanking. The NIN didn't have a High Breath Mantle which is what 6k?!?! As a tank, any tank, especially a NIN tank, you need to have this item, its the only way you are going to hold hate off of a good DD. I think last night I also proved that a SAM can tank at about 42 because I was tanking 50% of the time and was holding the links when we got them.
This is all just so infuriating because I feel that I should be doing so much better in game and yet I'm not. Then on top of that the RL crap that keeps building up. Argh, I need a vacation from life for a while just to ease my nerves.
Goal for tonight: AF weapon for SAM and level 44 on SAM (which only puts be about 3 levels behind where I am supposed to be)...

When I was on MNK I felt like I was moving so fast in CN just soloing but now when I was there on SAM I felt like I was moving so slowly even though I think I'm doing more DPS. What the deuce is going on?! This crap needs to stop happening to me and let me have something good happen to me for once in a while.
I only got 2 friggin levels on my SAM which is crap considering I was online for like 5 hours last night. That's me averaging like what, 2k/hr? Then I got into this one party with 2xBST/NIN, NIN, SAM(me), SCH, and BLM and the NIN couldn't hold hate for shit. I mean 2 swings by me and I was tanking, which I got sick of holding back and just kept unleashing on it and then tanking. The NIN didn't have a High Breath Mantle which is what 6k?!?! As a tank, any tank, especially a NIN tank, you need to have this item, its the only way you are going to hold hate off of a good DD. I think last night I also proved that a SAM can tank at about 42 because I was tanking 50% of the time and was holding the links when we got them.
This is all just so infuriating because I feel that I should be doing so much better in game and yet I'm not. Then on top of that the RL crap that keeps building up. Argh, I need a vacation from life for a while just to ease my nerves.
Goal for tonight: AF weapon for SAM and level 44 on SAM (which only puts be about 3 levels behind where I am supposed to be)...

That is how Raging Fists is. I took a closer look at it because Khrone and I couldn't remember what the actual animation was like. Now we know again.
This weekend I moved my gf back down to school so now I have oodles of free time on my hands since I can't do any sports now either. That means when I came back from the weekend I watched some TV and gamed the whole night.
I started off at the Cape Terrigan OP by walking all the way out there because I can't warp out there until 50 which makes it a worthless OP for me. But having to walk out there was well worth it because with my ring I was averaging about 10k/hr and then at about level 46 I was averaging about 8k/hr without the ring. I was really cruising out there until the end of the night. I started to get pretty tired and sloppy with pulling and kept having to have Screamin kill the goblins which spawned my pets which kept slowing me down. But I did get all the way up to 48 last night! That is one level further than I needed to go to keep up with my goal.
Tonight I should easily be able to hit 50 on my MNK. And after that I will switch to SAM and try to get as much exp as possible. I need to buy some extra gear to finish off gearing my SAM but it should be pretty easy to pick it up as I think I only need a GKT and the Tilt belt for ACC. Maybe grab a bow from my mule so I can pull with the bow instead of having to pull with provoke like I was for MNK when Chi Blast was down. I am now debating how I should go on SAM too ... /DRG or just /WAR. I am probably leaning towards /WAR still just for Berserk, but Jump and Attack Bonus could be better overall. Its gonna be about how I feel I guess because at this level it seems like there isn't a clear cut better sub job. Although at 50 its definitely going to be /WAR for Double Attack though, because between that and Berserk it is definitely better.
So tonight could be an exciting night of MNK and SAM fun! It all depends on how fast I can make it through the last 2 levels of MNK. Then I need to find a party on SAM otherwise I'll be in possibly CN soloing crawlers like I was on MNK for those 3 levels from 41 to 44 while waiting for a party. I can definitely see getting 2 levels on MNK and 2 levels on SAM tonight though. 4 easy levels is quite easy. I just may have to take the hit of level syncing down to a level I'm not very fond of, but I refuse to go anything under 34/35 just because it makes my uber gear crap (P Charm and O Kote).
So the hopeful goal of tonight will be MNK to 50 and SAM to 42 and finishing my AF quest for the SAM AF weapon. Quite doable and would total me 2 levels ahead of my overall goal for this tier, which is amazing!
