Single Digits!

First and foremost, 8 levels left on RNG and I'm done!!! This is really the kicker of the weekend because otherwise I was in a really bad mood because I missed out on my RDM AFv2 Hat and possibly BLM AFv2 Hat.

Anyways, I got a lot of SMN burning in this weekend which means much progress on merits and exp. Obviously I'm really close to Maat's Cap now and REALLY need to start concentrating on my fights. I got DRG fight done this weekend and could probably do BLM, SMN, and MNK without much problem now. That still only takes me to 10/15 fights done so I have my work cut out for me.

The highlight piece of gear I got, and Khrone actually, was Yinyang Robe. That really boosts my SMN because now I am more confident on what I can do with it. Maat should be pretty easy now because I can have over 1100 MP as an Elvaan on SMN, but will probably only be around 980 or so since my SJ gets nixed during the fight. In all that should still be pretty easy for my fight though as long as I don't get unlucky with his Astral Flow. Also in SMN news I got the Temenos item for AF+1 which will be great for AF+1 hands to give me an extra avatar perpetuation cost -1.

I'm thinking tonight if I have some free time I'll be doing my BLM and MNK Maat fights and then hopefully getting into a burn party for more merits/exp. My jobs are really coming along with these SMN burns because even when I'm not leeching exp, I'm still getting good merit points that I'm currently lacking.

No QotD here because it would be large amounts or profanity from me finding out I could've gotten RDM hat Sunday night...

DRG Exp Is Done

As is obvious by the title, I finished off my last little bit of exp on DRG in campaign. It was kind of a pain because of course when I really wanted a battle it took 15 min before I gave up and went to a random one which ended after me getting 500 exp. Then the next new battle took about 20 min but was enough for me to go about 1k into 66.

After that I told Swifman I'd go hang out with him for a bit and realized he's a really good tank. We did Ramuh and he went PLD/RDM and he was doing awesome. At one point he dropped down to about 20HP after Ramuh's 2hr but brought himself back up with a little of my help. I don't think he could've solo'd it but he definitely did a great job. Oh, and I went on my 72SMN just to play around with my summons. It was fun actually doing something on SMN and realizing that my summoning skill is only about 150 below where it should be. lol Still, I got my MP over 1,000 and I made some new macros for SMN. The big thing is that I need to get some real gear for my SMN and then make some real macros instead of just simple ones where I summon them and swap staves.

Anyways, that was all I got done last night which isn't really that big of a deal for me considering my gf stayed over way longer than I expected and the Campaign Battles took longer. It was cool to be able to do a random event with Swifman though since I don't really get to do much with friends anymore if it doesn't include exp of some form.

Tonight I'm hoping to have DRG done, and I mean done. I plan on getting the Testimony, killing Maat, and selling all my DRG gear that doesn't cross over to another job. If I have extra time tonight maybe I'll try to sneak myself into a SMN burn party or get another Maat fight done. Beating Maat on one of my 75 jobs should be pretty easy and require almost no skill what-so-ever. WAR, BLM, RDM, and SAM should be cake because it isn't that hard to beat him at level 66 so at 75 with merits and good gear it should be a laugh. I heard BLM is basically 4 nukes and its over.

Learning To Play DRG

People don't understand how to play jobs anymore. They think that joining a TP burn party is just that, you join, you swing, you use your TP, and repeat. If that is your philosophy, just quit the game now because you're ruining it for me.

Now I know as a DRG you do massive amounts of damage on Colibri and its really hard for a NIN to tank against you without hate help from someone like a THF. This is where my latest party with DRG was set up well, but executed poorly. The THF was SATAing a BLU/THF... /headdesk. The BLU was dropping huge damage SA'd spells at the beginning of fights.... /slap. And I was the only one sitting there holding back on my damage so the NIN could be the one tanking.

Dear THF, you're a moron. You are level 60+ and I understand you just love SATA, but with Assassin you can now seperate SA and TA and still drop good amounts of hate on the tank, GO YOU. I had to sadly explain this to the guy so he would actually do it correctly. It turns out that I didn't have e nough time to explain how DEX and AGI work with SA and TA though.

Dear BLU, you were better than the THF because you at least knew he was wrong but its partly your fault too because you can just as easily TA the NIN for more hate which you NEVER DID. Yes, I know the NIN has Yonin now for extra enmity, but on Colibri he has Provoke and ... Provoke unless he wants to get his face blown up by spells. My rule of thumb is wait for at least a second Provoke before you do big damage or you start wasting the healer's MP. That is, wait for the second Provoke if you don't have a means of mittigating the hate you just got.

Dear other DRG, don't use High Jump to build TP to WS and then not have Super Jump ready to shed more hate, your face will get eaten especially because you were /WAR and couldn't even take 1 hit.

Dear me, GOOD JOB! You used Jump at will to help do damage and build TP. You came /SAM so you could get to 100% TP with 1 less swing. You gear swap on WS's to boost your damage and make exp flow faster. You learned that using the combination of Third Eye > Penta Thrust > High Jump or Super Jump usually meant you took 0 damage. As it turns out it was good timing between battles too because you could either use High Jump or Super Jump each fight. You also didn't use High Jump > Penta Thrust > getting your face rapped because you were intelligent. You also learned that when you have someon who relies on being behind the mob for big amounts of damage you should stand next to the tank because you will take hate. Here's to you Mr. Smart DRG Man. Ahh, the joys of an 8k/hr party in a 12k/hr camp....

As awesome as that party was they were understanding when I had "something come up" and I had to leave real quick. Funny part was that that "something came up" was a SMN burn party that I could get hella faster exp than I was with them. That was the start of a pretty good SMN burn weekend.

By the end of the weekend I had gotten my THF to 62, my DRG to 65 (in the exp party), and my SMN to 70. My first Predator Claws was also for 1258 on a poor bat in Zeruhn Mines. I know I shouldn't be worrying about my SMN but getting it to 75 is an eventuality anyways. Also, the sooner I get my SMN to 75, the sooner I get to turn these parties into merit parties and put myself into a substantially better position for getting into DF. But I did get 2 more levels on THF which is sorely needed because I really don't WANT to level THF at all. There is a lot of gear that goes into making THF good and I just don't want the hassle of all the swap gear for a few levels. Once I get through THF and get my last level on DRG I will only have RNG. Yeah, I'm PUMPED!!!!!! Just having all the exp done will make me feel great. When I finish all my exp for Maat's Cap I think I will put in my app to DF and while they are talking about not letting me in I can work on fighting Maat. lol 21 LEVELS OR 377K EXP TO GO!!!!!

There's so much I can do after I get done with Maat's Cap its not even funny. For one is stress less about NEEDING exp and HAVING to finish this. I can relax and maybe concentrate on gil making, missions, Campaign, and maybe even finishing off some stuff on Screamineagle. This is such a comforting feeling to be able to see the end and not have any HUGE plans afterwards. Maybe some exp, definitely some merits when I feel like it, possibly crafting, such options!

Oh, and on a quick side note, I did my first Einherjar run in a loooooooooong time with DF this weekend. Someone messed up a pull and linked the last wave of mobs and the boss so we ended up wiping but I'm just happy I got about 1300 points that is going towards my Omega Ring. If they let me in I would love to dual box Screamineagle in there to get him some extra gear as well.

Quote of the Day:
Hmm, lets put it this way, I heard a lot of quotes this weekend and 90% of them are not allowed to be put into print because there doesn't need to be a trail led back to me. Lets just leave it as this was a great weekend. But in the interests of my 1 or 2 readers....

Brick Wall

I was doing so well for so long, but then of course when I start coming really close to my goal I hit a brick wall. In the past week or so I've gotten like 2 levels. 2 levels in a week will just not fly if I'm going to have my cap by the end of the month.

Lately I've been out of town, busy with sports, or with my gf all the time. Disdain is finally coming back and I've had very little time to do stuff with him. Last night I was able to get his DNC into my exp party because it took our BRD way too long to log back on. It was a fun party considering our MNK/WAR was tanking. Not to mention my polearm starting to skill up more and I was able to more consistently drop massive Penta Thrusts on the Colibri. Having Disdain on DNC was a nice addition, considering no BRD or COR, since he could do haste samba, back up cure, and pull.

Other than that though I have had basically no progress in game. No bonecrafting skill ups, no real Maat's Cap progress, no new gear to speak of, no special events I've done, and just being envious of some of my friends because they started doing Salvage. It sucks not having a regular schedule because that means I get excluded from all the events I would like to do. Not being able to be relied on for certain times week in and week out is crushing because that leaves me with just leveling jobs and meriting and making the occasional Dynamis when I can. This blows...

After chatting with Swifman a little bit he's pretty convinced that I could make it into DaFunk without much of a problem as long as I get a some more merits into BLM. Right now I know my jobs are kind of lack luster but that's only because I never had the need to really deck them out. If I am accepted into DaFunk though I know I'm gonna have to drop some gil and upgrade a lot of my gear so I can really contribute to the LS. But this all depends on me FINISHING MAAT'S CAP!!! ARGH!!! Hopefully I can crack down and get this done by the end of the month AT THE LATEST because I would like to move on with this game instead of just exping all the time.

I don't have a Quote of the Day because I'm not in a great mood.

I Just Stole 60

Basically, I thieved myself through the 50s again without swinging a weapon. Thief is now 60 and ready for the 1 night stand to finish it to 66.... hopefully! The great part is that I don't have anything to skill up for THF so it doesn't really matter if I blow it off. I just need to get it to 66 and that's all.

Another thing I got done this weekend was get DRG to 62 and my Polearm to 192. I still have a lot of work to do on my Polearm skill but I'm happy that I'm making decent progress on my DRG. This is one job I haven't minded taking the slow way because I know in the end it will shine with higher weapon skill and my new found knowledge of how to mitigate hate. Dropping a 600+ weaponskill on a mob and not taking any damage by the time the tank has hate back is great. Third Eye, High Jump, and Super Jump are great abilities to have in your arsenal since you can drop lots of damage, take 0 damage, and then magically have the tank tanking again.

The goal for this week is finishing THF or getting THF mostly finished and more progress on DRG. I'm thinking a minimum of 5 levels by the end of Thursday because on Friday I go out of town for the weekend.

I'm Burning Out

Yeah, I like to use stupid 1-liners to show say what I'm really doing. But I have a feeling once I actually get Maat's Cap it will be rough to think of new ones.

Since it has been a while since I posted I will go back to where I left off, DRG. I believe it was 59 the last time I posted but now it is 61. That happened this past weekend while I was moping around and had no intentions of leaving my house for reasons I will briefly mention at the end of the post. Anyways, I got into more bird parties and got my Polearm up close to 180 which is decent but still not where it needs to be if I want to beat Maat. I still have 5 levels of exp to get my skill up higher and seeing that it is not even capped for level 54 yet I will be able to get it at 200 if not close to 200 by the time I start getting into regular Colibri parties and finish DRG to 66.

Next was BST which I was finally able to finish off SMN burning, hence the title. The purpose of the title is that last night I did 4 burns in a row and was starting to get a little burned out and was not in the mood to have me and another guy pull but me hold all the mobs while he went and joined the burn. For future information, it is rather difficult to recast with over 100 mobs smacking you even if you have Aquaveil up. I was able to hold the mobs pretty well but I did end up having to use Invincible at one point to save my arse.

You may be wondering why I have THF listed in the label also. Well, THF is listed because after I finished BST I switched to THF and got 7 levels going from 50 to 57 in 2 burns. It was great to basically fly through the 50s in a matter of 2 hours. lol I figure by the time I finish DRG to 66 through exp parties I should be able to burn THF to 66 through smn burns. Hopefully I can finish them at the same time and then strictly concentrate on RNG.

One thing I have been thinking about though is that I want to have SMN above 70 before I do Maat on it because I think that trying to do him without using my 2hr could really save me some time from having to wait for my 2hr to reset and do another fight right after it. Not to mention I wouldn't mind trying to snag a Yin Yang Robe before I do the fight to really rock his socks off.

Something I have started to think about is what will I do once I get all my jobs to 66 and get my Maat's Cap. There are a few jobs I wouldn't mind getting to 75 but I'm in no real rush to do any of that. Maybe I will start meriting again and start concentrating on finishing off the jobs that matter to me like RDM or maybe even SAM. I have some STR merits I could really use or plenty of other places I can drop merits. But I have been more thinking about finishing my own MNK off to 75. It could really be a big boost for getting myself into a Salvage group especially when I'm now 1/3 on Black Belt items without spending a dime. Although, another option is trying to join an HNM shell and just help out whenever I can. Its not like I would be around all the time but whenever I get on I could devote my online time to them to get some really nice gear for myself. Plus there is sea I could jump into to get myself really rounded out for some of my jobs like SAM, MNK, or even BLM. Not to mention in sea I could pick up the enfeebling cape.

I dunno, for those that read this blog let me know what you think I should do after Maat's Cap. Level all jobs to 75? Do SCH? Join HNM? Merit? Farm as much gil as I can? Finish Bonecraft to 100 and do subcrafts to 60? I need some help people!

Oh, and I said I was going to mention why I wasn't in a good mood this weekend. Which ironically coincides a little with Lost. On 7/23/09 my car was broken into and my work laptop was stolen. Part of the ID number on the laptop was also 23. Anyways, if you know something about Lost it is one of the "cursed" numbers that Hurley talks about. But I had to have my window replaced on my own dime and luckily work paid for the laptop. Hopefully that will all be finished and taken care of by the end of tomorrow though because I will be getting my car back by the end of the day tomorrow and hopefully all my software will be completely updated on my new laptop. Ok, I'm done writing as this turned into a long post.

Slow And Steady

... is not how I want to be right now. I have been getting a level a night the past 2 nights and that is NOT what I want to be doing. As nice as 1 level a night is, that would take me a month and a half to finish when I really want to be done in about 3 weeks with exp. After finishing exp I expect to take about a week with all the Maat fights.

On the plus side, I finally got into a Wajaom Woodlands party so I was able to skill up my Polearm to 160 by the end of the night. Penta Thrust with a capped Polearm skill should be awesome because I was still landing 500+ Pentas but I was averaging about 350 probably. When my skill is capped I will have much better accuracy so I should be able to blow up some mobs really easily and probably pop over 600 damage Penta Thrusts then, which would be awesome.

I have also really been trying to find people to do Astral Flow parties with but the people I know that would do them with me aren't on or are busy when I'm on. It really sucks because I would be basically done with BST in a night then. Ugh, this is just not working out as well as I hoped.

Anyways, tonight I'm going to have basically no time to myself because I am going to dinner at my gf's house, bball, vball, then I'll probably be taking a nap because I'm supposed to be going to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. Call me a loser, whatever, I'm looking forward to it. What I am not looking forward to is waking up really early again because I have a dentist appointment at 8:40 tomorrow morning which means if I'm lucky I'll get up to 6 hours of sleep. Why must RL get in the way of gaming? Can't it just buzz off and let me get Maat's Cap already? I swear I'll pay more attention to RL once I have my blue cap!

Jump, Jump ... High Jump!

Oddly enough, that is also how many Jumps per High Jump you can do before its up again. lol I'm funny, I know. DRG is my new toy to play with. And go figure, a DRG got a quick invite to an E. Ronf. [S] party. Also, ironically enough there was a good surprise when I got there.

I get to the party of a guy who's name sounded familiar. Then I see Kaisr there and was shocked. When I asked who was controlling Kaisr I discovered that the leader's name was familiar because he was one of Kaisr's RL friends. That's when we started talking a lot more about Kaisr coming back and ... astral flow parties. muahaha Yes, I'm an astral flow fiend now because it would greatly help out my Maat's Cap goal and help with finishing some of my jobs to 75. Its great making new friends from the old.

So not only did I make a new friend, but I also got into an awesome party because we were dominating the mobs. We eventually were killing so many mobs around us the group that had the good camp gave up because they could only really pull the mobs in their area and then they were out of mobs. Once we got the good camp we had a chain of over 30 at one point before the pulls got to be too far to keep the chain. I do have to admit though, DRK is a dominating DD at those lower levels even against DRG's piercing bonus. But once we hit 40 no one could keep up with a DRG on hate. The one guy would voke at the start of the fights and then I would do a Double Thrust for 300+ and my wyvern would do a breathe damage for 100ish and hate would basically be locked on to me. Not to mention if I did a crit hit it would be for almost 200. Then when I would crit my Jumps it was retarded!!! I think my highest Jump was 271... 271!!!!!! That's more than most of my WSs during the 60k exp that I got in that party.

But in all, good times last night and a new friend was made. He already has Maat's Cap too, but now his goal is all jobs to 75. Guess we have a basically common goal then, tons of exp. lol

Final Update of the Year

My productivity in game has been a little low lately as my gf has been home and spending a lot of time with me. Most of my other free time has been spent trying to rearrange my room and clean my room and on the rare occasion hang out with some friends.

As far as out of game goes, my Christmas gifts weren't all that because I got like 3 articles of clothing and then some drawers and laundry hampers. That's pretty much why I've been rearranging my room a little because I've been trying to make room for it. I also got a new DVD rack which was really nice because I was completely out of space on my old one. As for what I asked for for Christmas was a lot of movies and I only got 3, Troy(Blu-Ray), Boiler Room(DVD), and a huge box set for I Am Legend(Blu-Ray). My room is pretty much reorganized but still needs to be cleaned (since I didn't get the hot maid I asked for or the hot personal assistant) but I still need to find a better place for my Rock Band 2 drum set.

As for in game, I've done a lot of AF hunting because I haven't really had time to exp at all. I am perfectly ok with not exping because I wanted to have my SAM AF helmet before I got back to SAM since I would probably hit 60 in my next party. My SAM is really exciting because I have a lot of really nice gear for it and at 59 I get my Hauby which will really help out with damage and accuracy since it has DEX and ACC bonuses.

But before even starting on my SAM AF I had to finish my DRG AF which wasn't really all that hard to do. Its nice having a 2nd char because I can basically duo everything now including all the really tough fights. Probably the hardest part of all the AF that I've done thus far has been the Temple of Ugg. coffer that I had to get for my SAM because it was in the hardest to reach spot. I went in with Screamin and found that it was behind 2 locked doors. Luckily 1 key wasn't too hard to get and the 2nd one I could aggro mobs through to open the door. The biggest problem was that Screamin ended up having about 4 mobs beating on him while I had to run and snag my coffer. Luckily the mob by the coffer had just turned away so I could grab it and then invis, run back to screamin and have him tele out. The only way I would be able to do that was Invincible on him and then tele. I ALMOST didn't make it because he had paralyze on him and if that would've stopped him from casting I was toast.

Now my next test will be the SAM AF helm fight. That I'm actually kind of excited to do because I want to duo it with MNK/DNC and RDM/WHM. It is supposedly soloable by a MNK/DNC but I figure with my RDM there to help out on cures while Screamin's MNK just destroys the mobs it should be fun. My plan right now is: Phalanx 2 on Screamin with other buffs, run in and get enough TP for Drain Samba 2, use it, then 2hr and take out the BLM and hopefully start on the DRK, take down the DRK, and then have a nice and easy time taking out the SMN. This sounds really easy to me so I'm happy to try it out. Hopefully I can try it out next weekend when I'm back in town. It will probably only be like a 5 or 10 min fight which is kind of funny since the run to the actual fight and prepping will more than likely take longer. Once I get this fight done and get my SAM kabuto I will be ready to go back in full swing with exping SAM. And my goal for SAM is being 66 in 3 weeks which I think is definitely doable even with sky events since I will have weekends free again as I don't plan on going to visit my gf for at least a few weeks.

This next week I will be in Chicago for the first time for New Year's events and to do the whole tourist thing with my gf. Should be pretty fun, hope I don't think too much about ^^ while I'm there. lol

Freakin Power

So I'm getting stuff done in game, working through my AF for DRG, and then BAM, power goes out for the whole friggin night. Not a happy camper.

I did get some stuff done before my power went out though, mostly AF stuff for my DRG. I got up to my AF Helm fight so that will be done this evening when I leave work early. Then I need to go start my AF for SAM becauase I have to get a jump on that because of the stupid "have to wait until JST midnight before you can continue."

Well, super short post because I am already heading out of work today and I haven't really had much to update about in game stuff anyways. PEACE

Silky Smooth

That's about how our evening went. Between me popping 2 coffers for my DRG AF and sky farming everything seemed to go very well minus one or two hiccups.

When I got home I had time to do what I thought was maybe my 2 coffers for DRG. I got the Boyahda Tree coffer with almost no problem because it was in a spot that I ended up not even needing sneak to get to. After that I still had about 30 min before sky so I decided I'd OP out to Yhoator to do the Ifrit's Cauldron coffer. On my way to the OP to warp back to Bastok I ran into Ramoth, an old friend, that just came back to the game I guess after having some REALLY bad medical issues. He said he had some sort of blood problem in his right brain and ended up having to lose almost his whole right brain which left his left side mostly paralyzed. After spending a year in the hospital he has a 22 year old cute live-in girl to help take care of him. She is actually the one that convinced him to start gaming again which is actually good for him because it'll keep his mind going. It was funny to see him wearing the xxKFBxx or whatever shell because I'm pretty sure Drivvt is in that shell too. But it was good to hear that he's doing alright and getting back into the game.

After talking with him I ran up and found the coffer in Ifrit's Cauldron almost right away, the only problem was waiting for the stupid flame spout to go down. Once it went down I quickly popped it and ran up to sky.

In sky we did an AWESOME job of farming. We popped Despot in about 15 minutes of being up there. Right there was a great start to the night. After that we did Steam Cleaner which popped on the last pop of our first detector, which again was awesome. We also found that Faust was up and decided to go knock him out while racing another LS to him. It was not a pretty fight because both LSs wiped and then they gave up and let us take out Faust which when we finally told the PLD how to tank was pretty easy. Then we split up again and went to water and dio but ended up only getting 1 water in the time we were up there but I guess they had also gotten 4 more dios before sky which is REALLY good news. After they popped their water we went over and took out MG which wasn't hard at all. To keep on going with all the good news, we walked out of MG and did Despot again who popped AGAIN in about 15 minutes. Once we finished Despot we were thinking about calling it a night but then someone saw that Zip was up so we went and took him out after a slight mishap with the PLD Flashing the wrong mob and getting a ton of aggro from a bunch of mobs. All in all I think we knocked out EVERY pop mob except BB which we have literally about 10 of anyways. Tonight should be a good night of gods and hopefully another Kirin or 2.

With my free time before sky tonight I'm hoping to get back to PLD because I need to burn through my exp ring for the week. Not to mention I just want to finish my PLD to 50 already so I can get crackin on my last 2 jobs to 50, WHM and SMN. Its a great feeling to be this close to getting to 50 on all of these jobs. So I'm hoping 50PLD by the weekend and then back to my SMN.

On another note, it was good to hear that Hybrid is not going to sell his account and he will be coming back probably in December. It was also nice to see Disdain on again because its been a long time since I've seen him around. Good to see some of the older people back around the game, gets me all nostalgic and stuff.

Nap Time?

I have been sooooooooo tired the past week and looking forward to the weekend to catch up on all of that sleep that I missed out on. Well, I didn't really get to catch up that much because Friday I got stuck doing dry wall and then came home to do my escort and choco race and then some AF stuff, like finishing my BST AF.

I am pleased to announce that my DRG is finally 50! That is why I was able to start on some more AF Friday night because I was actually starting my DRG AF quests to get rid of my keys. Friday I started my AF2 quest which I then completed on Saturday because I had to wait til JP midnight to be able to continue the quest. On Saturday I only did my DRG AF up until the fight because I didn't even have time to finish the friggin fight since I spent most of the day doing dry wall for my brother's garage .... AGAIN! That's why I got very little sleep on Friday night. Saturday night I went to another Halloween party that was pretty fun, especially the good music and all you can drink beer. It was also the first time I have ever played Dodge Ball indoors because a bunch of my friends and I went as Verizon and another group went as the Average Joes from Dodge Ball. Much fun was had by all.

After that I was quite sloshed and ended up getting about 11 hours of sleep on Saturday night which felt FANTASTIC. Too bad getting that much sleep basically ruined my Sunday because I woke up in time to get to the concert I had to go to. The concert was fun and I'll just leave it at that.

Once I got back from the concert Khrone came over and we played some RB2 and ended up unlocking like the gig that lets you beat RB2 I guess. There are still a lot of places that I can't even play at yet but I guess the final gig is open to me now.

Khrone finally went home and I ended up just camping a coffer in Quicksand Caves for my DRG AF. Some butt munch was there popping coffers on THF and then logging until they repopped. It took me 2.5 hours to finally get my DRG AF from there which I won't even use for a looooooong time, but I'm just glad I'm making progress. Hopefully I can finish up the other coffers pretty quickly and then whoop on Dark Spark and get all my AF done for DRG by the end of the week. It will be nice to open up even more space in my MH because I was struggling for space but now I have about 20 open spots and am loving it!

As for sky, we had quite the off night. Sush decided to take a group of our BLMs to try to beat PM6-4 but was unsuccessful quite a few times I guess. So we did Suzaku slightly short handed but didn't really have any problem. That one seal finished off another Kirin set for us so we decided to go kill Kirin. Got there and ended up waiting for about an hour for people to get there because Mact stole one of our WHM to do his Alexander fight to finish ToAU missions. He even had a miss tell that went to the LS saying that he wasn't going to Kirin and he might come up afterwards but ended up not. This is also after the fact that Sush bailed because he was in a bad mood from failing PM6-4. We finally gather together for Kirin, do our practice run, BRDs pop their 2hrs (one of which was me), we sing our songs, and we get ready to fight Kirin... and we're ready ... and we're waiting ... and the 1st party loses their songs .... and the 2nd party loses their songs ... and BOOM there's Kirin! Supposedly fuman had problems with his trade getting interupted so after the 2nd group lost their songs I think just about everyone was thinking that he wasn't going to be popped. Well we were so wrong, because there he was without any BRD 2hrs anymore. By some miracle we beat him with a bunch of people dying but we beat him none-the-less. To top it all off, we got W Legs to drop which Aguaa got for his 2nd char. Guess that means 1 more person out of my way for them.

I wasn't so pleased with how the LS got ran last night because everyone looks towards Sush for leadership and he bailed on us, then Mact bailed on us. Luckily Vib was ready to step up and get people going for everything. None of it ran smoothly, and we had 2 D Hands drop off the one god which someone actually bought from us for 250k ... WASTE OF GIL. Then at the end of the night to top off the bad day as it was, someone dropped the aliance after our last god and we lost a Siren's Hair and the god's seal since people didn't pass and they broke the alliance. Not so pleased about that because that would've finished off another Kirin pop set for us. Let's hope tonight runs a lot smoother than last night because if it doesn't run well I have a feelign some people may leave the LS and there was already a lot of complaining and people whining about points not being updated in over a week.

Tonight will probably be more coffer hunting because I have a dinner and something else to go to so I won't be on until later. It would only give me about 2 full hours to level my PLD which really isn't enough because that 2 hours is from the time I get home to the time sky starts which really means if I got a party RIGHT away when I got home I could get an hour and a half in if I'm lucky, which I haven't been. So this is perfect for being able to just run around and do something productive with short amounts of time. Thankfully I'll have a lot of other jobs to do this with too.

@ 200

200 levels to go!!! I didn't realize until this morning but I guess me hitting 49 on DRG last night but me right at 200 to go til Maat's Cap. Wooooooo hooooooooooooo!

Last night was another night filled with RL stuff. Got my hair cut right after work and it was a total disaster! The guy obviously in his "20 years of experience" hasn't learned how to cut my hair correctly. I am probably going to have to get it retrimmed because he buzzed the front of my hair and left the top long. At first glance at the barber shop it looked good but when I got home I realized how TERRIBLE it really was. I mean the front part of my hair is maybe 1/3 of an inch long and the hair ontop of my head is about an inch long .... WHO DOES THAT?! Anyways, after that I had to go buy a tuxedo which was actually pretty inexpensive. Then I had enough time after that to run home and grab some toast and test out my knee at volleyball. I only played the last of the 3 games but my knee was feeling pretty good at that point. This morning it isn't feeling tip top shape so I'm thinking the only 1 night a week thing is probably best ... well 1 night a week at most.

Once I finished all of that I got home and watched the rest of the Presidential Debate and then hoped on to get my 2 levels on DRG. I have finally figured out how to spawn the raptor somewhere else ... just keep killing it until it spawns somewhere else. lol But once the raptor was gone I got my DRG rolling through the exp, or at least rolling for as much as I was paying attention. I always seem to get distracted now-a-days and my exp starts to tail off. When I started I was doing about 9k/hr with my ring and at one point I dropped to as low as 3.5k/hr without my ring. Of the whole time I was out there I was probably averaging about 6k/hr, which is still pretty good solo.

I'm definitely looking forward to 51 and the uncapping of exp. It is going to be great to be able to break through that 300 exp at chain 5 cap and see like 500 exp chain 5s ... if I can do it. AU parties I think will roll really well because its like the level 37 Colibri camp without an exp cap. This is just bringing me closer and closer to my goal and I'm getting excited about it.

The only problem I see is that when I actually get my jobs high enough to do end game and get gear for them I won't have any points or anything to actually get gear. Like I said in yesterday's post I am thinking about joining Sush's Sky LS just to start to gain some points and see if I can snag any gear I can from them. The only problem with that is if they fold before I get what I want ... like every other LS I've been in. I have actually also considered joining Swifman's HNM LS to see if I can use my almost complete Kirin pop set there to get myself W Legs ... which would be AMAZING. I don't know how I feel about camping HNMs and stuff though. The only bonus I can see to that is that while camping I can play my PS3 more or my Wii more and actually get more use out of those systems.

For basically the past week I have just been saying no to do stuff with Swifman and I feel bad because of it since he's almost always looking for something to do, even if its just exping his DRK. And since I told him I couldn't do Nyzul Isle with him again last night I decided that tonight when he gets on I'll try to put together a party and go to my favorite level 37 camp. My only problem I can see is that I would really like to have a DNC in the party because I know that Screamin's MP is going to run out pretty quickly so having that extra healing power to back me up could help a lot. I realize that that is one less big DD to have but it is still an attacker with healing skills. I'd rather have lower exp/hr that people dying because I have 0 MP to cure them with. The added bonus of being in the past is that I can give Screamin the extra Sigil refresh which should help a lot.

As for this evening, well, if all goes according to plan my THF will go from 37 to 41 pretty swiftly. If that goes according to plan maybe I can snag another level 37 person to fly through some more exp. I would've liked to have had THF done already because I highly doubt I'm going to hit my goal of all jobs to 50 by Oct 19th. Maybe I will rearrange my goal a little and say all jobs and at least most AF done by end of October. That sounds like a more reasonable goal for where I currently am. My biggest problem spot for AF is going to be Garbage Citadel since you technically need 4 people to basically keep running around through there to get keys and pop coffers. There is the trick where you can go to the past and then run to the one part where coffers are but there are only about 3 of the 7 coffer spots behind that door, but I guess its better than nothing right?

Busy...

RL is killin me! I wasn't able to get online until about 11:30 last night because I just had so much to do in RL and I have a ton more to do today. I still need to go grocery shopping and go find a tuxedo today and then wake up early tomorrow to take my car in to get maintenanced. Besides that I may be able to sneak in some decent leveling later tonight and hopefully hitting 50 tonight on DRG, but I'm not holding my breath.

Last night I did pretty well in my little solo spot in Cape Teriggan. At one point I was holding at about 16k/hr with my ring on. Then of course it tailed off and I kept getting sidetracked watching whatever was on TV so my productivity dwindled down to about 6 or 7k/hr. It was a relaxing pace and no pressure pushing me towards it which was fantastic. I really like how I have these goals to hit but since they are my goals and I'm not sharing them with an LS where I have to be somewhere at a certain time and I can change my goals whenever I want its very care free.

Tonight after I finish all of my RL stuff I would like to hit 50 on DRG but that will all depend on how lucky I am I guess. I will probably just stay in Teriggan for another level with my flag up and hopefully snag a party to help me move along to 50. There is always the possibilty of me setting up my own party but I just haven't had that drive to do it lately. As long as I can keep some progress going whenever I can I will be happy.

I have also been debating more and more joining an end game LS that I can come and go as I want to just start building up some points for when I actually get jobs that can use some of the gear like the 3 Shura pieces I would like from Sky (body, head, and legs), B Haidate, W legs, Kirin's Osode, and other random junk that would be really nice to have from Sky. The biggest problem is that I know it would cut severely into my exp time and I'm not really a fan of that. I have also thought about asking Sush if I could just be a purely part timer, like if I get bored of exp for a night I could run up there and go farm and kill gods with them or something. In my mind that sounds good and they could always use me on whatever job like BRD, BLM, RDM, or WAR ... or I could even go up on Screamin and tank for them if necessary. But this is all just possibility stuff that has crossed my mind and such. This still isn't set in stone but I may ask him about it some time.

I don't really have much else to say so I'll just leave it at hopefully 50 on DRG tonight, but doubtful. Besides that just getting my RL stuff done to get back to finishing DRG.

; ;

I come bearing more bad news, its seems as though Hybridkiller is now also retiring from the game. He is moving out to the middle of no where to move in with his girl friend. As he plays on his PS2 he will probably have problems getting internet to a room he needs it and a TV to play on. The worst part of all of this is he is talking about selling off his characters which honestly I think is a terrible idea because there is always the possibility of him wanting to come back down the road. But that's his call and sadly not mine. He said he would sell them to me if I wanted them but I've vowed never to buy an account because where is the sense of accomplishment there? I accepted Screamineagle because it was given to me by an RL friend but that is the extent of me "buying" an account is paying for a second.

Moving away from the sad stuff ... I did my escort quest on Saturday and used it on my MNK which is now 50, YAY. This weekend was also devoted to at least finishing my DRK and starting my DRG which was also accomplished. My DRK is now 50 and my DRG is now 45.

I just have not been having luck with my pet camp out in Cape Terrigan until later last night. Finally the raptor didn't respawn and then I could just run back and forth between the 2 goblins swiping pets and rocking out some good exp again. It is nice seeing about 6 or 7k solo (with a PL of course) without much trouble. What is also great is watching the damage you can do to a pet.

So I have been using my parser again and I have noticed a few things about DRK and DRG. One is either I know how to play them really well or people don't know how to play their DD jobs well. Also, DRK and DRG are some massive DDs and the DRG's wyvern is SOOOOO underrated. In the time that I was parsing with my DRK I was only outdone once and that was on bats where I couldn't land any of my Absorbs or Drain or Aspir for diddly which actually does take away from a DRK. I was outdone by that MNK by about 2 or 3% in the end which doesn't sound like much but over time it adds up.

Then on DRG, WOW, people underestimate the damage that the wyvern can do. I was in a party out in Western Alepa Desert with an amazing party: NIN, DNC, SCH, DRK, DRG (me), and BRD. This party was occasionally hitting chain 6s and we weren't being PL'd, now THATS a party. I also parsed this party and noticed that alone my DRG was doing about 36% of the overall damage, which isn't too bad since the DRK was only doing about 25%. Then I realized, hey, there's Firewing's damage too..... /jawdrops If I remember correctly, the NIN was doing about 18% and the DNC was doing about 12% and Firewing was doing about 12%... yes, my wyvern was doing about the same amount of damage as the DNC and not too much less than the NIN.... WOW! So if you add in myself with my wyvern, I was doing about 50% of the damage in that party! DRGs fuggin ROCK! Its not even like I was super decked out or had uber gear, its just that my damage output so great. I know I've said it before but all you people who still think DRG can't be a good DD, YOU'RE RETARDED!

Moving backwards a little again to DRK. I was actually surprised at the damage I was putting out on DRK when my Scythe was almost never capped and my weapon skill was basically just an extra swing and didn't do any great damage, which is another reason why that MNK bested me in damage, he had Raging Fists and I had Nightmare Scythe. I'm kind of excited to see what DRK can do with an actually decent weapon skill like possibly Vorpal Scythe or definitely Guillotine. I think I did decide that in order to just keep my weapons up to scratch though I will go with GS for my next weapon as it seems a lot better than any other weapon at 50 and it should basically be a free item for me as its just an Allied Notes weapon from Windy.

As for RL, I saw a different physical therapist today since my regular one is out of town this week and he gave me some new tips on what I should be doing to hasten my return to athletics. He is actually more of a sports therapist which is actually right up my alley since that is EXACTLY what I need my leg for. He told me about using one of those thin straps for tendons as it helps relieve the strain on it and he told me to specifically ice under my knee cap. This is because the actual inflamation that I have is under my knee cap so when I ice it I should use an ice cube for 2 minutes while pushing on the top of my knee cap to raise it to more directly apply the cold. Outside of that I need to just constantly stretch basically. I'm pumped because this is giving me hope that I could be back to volleyball within a month. :D

Goal for tonight: As I don't really feel the push anymore and I have some RL stuff to do I will just say DRG to 47 or maaaaaybe 48 depending on how lucky I am with my solo camp.
