#7

Job #7 to 75 is now done. I finished MNK in an about 2k exp campaign battle which left me with about 1.8k buffer. This is something I will have to fix eventually but its a great feeling to be able to throw on that extra 10% haste and the brutal earring. My damage output in campaign should really be able to jump up now and get me more exp to get a buffer with. Campaign will now be strictly for getting a buffer as I can now go merit on 7 different 75 jobs. Well, really 5 because WAR is pretty much retired and SMN would be kinda hard to get a real merit party with unless I was doing a pet burn.

Now that I have MNK technically out of the way I am looking at merits. My top merits in basically the order I want to get them in:
1) Minuet (5/5)
2) Madrigal (5/5)
3) Troubador (5/5)
4) GK (8/8)
5) H2H (6/8)
6) Archery (6/8)
7) Overwhelm (5/5)
8) Meditate (5/5)
9) Shikikoyo (1/5)
10) Blade Bash (1/5)
11) Phalanx 2 (5/5)
12) STR (5/5)

Those are my top 12 I suppose. A few are interchangeable on how I feel at the specific time. Like I may switch around Meditate and Overwhelm or maybe move Troubador to #1, but for the most part that is the job order I want to work on. H2H and Archery are in the air too on where they go but I figured I'd throw them in while I was working on combat skills.

Well, I guess I should mention why Archery is even in there. RNG is my next job to 75. Yeah, I know, its like I have a death wish or something. Again, to be more productive and helpful to HNM I want to have another good DD that is widely used and RNG fits that bill for things like Ixion and Odin. I mean can you really say an LS has too many RNG, its like you can never have enough BLM or BRD. RNG is going to be a pain with literally shooting my gil away but I have quite a bit of gil right now so I don't feel too bad about spending some. The biggest problem I'm going to have of course is skilling up while level syncing. My archery as it is is under leveled so I definitely will not be using any expensive arrows until that is fully skilled up.

And I got totally sidetracked for like 2 or 3 hours and here I am trying to figure out where I left off. How about I just stop then for today instead, sounds good.

Slaughterhouse

One really big update and another semi cool one. Big one: Congratulations to Khrone on getting his Adamantoise Egg and in turn finishing his Black Belt!!! That is huge because that really boosts his MNK and can really help him out in salvage... and yes he's a bastard for having a salvage group.

Semi cool update: Slaughterhouse is a pimpin Campaign Op. Not only can you get a basically guaranteed 361 exp from it, you can also get anyone else in your part 361 exp also. I've gotten about 8 or 9k exp from doing that Campaign Op from Treu, Screamin, and Khrone now. That has been a quarter of me getting from 74 to 75 and all faster than doing campaign battles! Sadly that still means I can only do this once a week and use my 7 ops tags all at once. On the plus side it is faster than just sitting around hoping for a party and constantly doing campaign battles and averaging like 2 or 3k an hour. The only plus side to the campaign battles is that I can make a little bit of gil and get merits on Screamin at the same time.

Thinking of Screamin, I need to make a little bit of a plan on what I want to do with his merits now. I have been getting more for him but don't really have anything that is jumping out at me to merit on him. What are some good things to merit on PLD or MNK? (as those are the two jobs I use the most for him) I already capped Chivalry for him which is very nice because a 10 minute recast on that is very helpful especially when PLing or doing campaign battles because a PLD can run out of MP pretty quickly against some of those mobs. Well, ideas are welcome!

Quick update, I also spent my first chunk of points on a pair of Herme's Sandals! 15 points for about 900k ain't too shabby especially when I'm using MNK right now and the movement speed +12% is very nice for getting around.

Spending Points

I actually spent points in HellsBells last night! It was craziness! Too bad it wasn't on a RDM Hat, but instead on a RNG belt. But hey, that is one great belt and I can level into it too. So it does feel good to finally get some good gear from HB instead of just showing up and hoping for a free drop or something.

Another big bonus from last night was hitting 74 on MNK. 74 isn't really a landmark or anything, its just that it means I only need 1 more level to finish off exping MNK. I'm about 3k into 74 now and really hoping for an exp party but not having ANY luck at all. The other big boost I got last night was finding out about a Campaign Ops that can get me a little bit of exp but quick exp. Its nothing that makes me go OMG OMG OMG, but I got like 3k exp in about 20 minutes which is awesome. Sadly you can only get 1 tag a day and can only save up to 7 at a time. What makes this really awesome is that you can do this with multiple people at once. So I can go with Treu and Screamin and do Slaughterhouse 3 on one char and Slaughterhouse 2 on the other but get exp for both chars. Basically it means I get double exp for my 2 chars! That means I could get about 4400 exp per week in under an hour which ain't too shabby when you don't have to fight anything at all and I'm getting it on 2 characters at once. Brilliant!

Now the final grind begins with me finishing off my MNK. It is semi exciting now especially because I get a HUGE boost in gear when I hit 75 with Byakko's Haidate and Walahra Turban. It also seems like maybe by the time I hit 75 I'll have my egg for Black Belt too. Then I think I'm really gonna let loose on merit parties and finish off the merits that I'm really hurting for. I have so many merits that I need and it doesn't help that I'm going to have another job at 75 to merit with and get merits for. For MNK alone I'm going to want H2H and a few other random merits. Then for BRD I'm going to want to cap Troubador at least for HNMs like Khim and not to mention doing Minuet and probably Madrigal. That right there is like 40 merits and that still doesn't even cover SAM or RDM or a few more merits I want to throw into Archery for when I start doing RNG. SO MUCH EXP STILL TO DO!!!

I am excited at least to finish off MNK and move on to something else. Meriting will be a good change of pace from Campaign though. Getting on to something different is always good because you get that sense of fulfilment finishing something and moving on to something else. Gimme my gold star!

2/3 BB

I am now 2/3 on Black Belt items, woo hoo! This now puts me at about the same place that my bro is, only needing the egg for a Black Belt. The funny part is, my MNK is only 73.

Speaking of MNK, it is a biznatch to level. I haven't gotten an exp party in about 3 weeks and that party was only because Ofecant let me tag along while he was leveling his RDM. So instead of exp parties, I have been doing Campaign Battles to level up and I actually dinged 73 in a campaign battle. Now I've gotten my last 30k on MNK in campaign and it is really getting old. I just want a few hours of a party just to finish my dag gone MNK off. I'm about 60k from where I want to be on MNK. Once I get there I can shelf MNK and go merit on SAM or BRD or RDM (or MNK). Just getting to 75 is so hard because invites are non-existant for me.

I still haven't decided for sure though if I'm going to take MNK to 75 then merit or if I want to jump right back in to leveling and finish RNG. The benefit of meriting first is that I have less jobs to put merits into, therefore less distractions finishing off what should be finished. The con is that it puts my RNG leveling off for a while so I would still be limited to basically only BRD on some DF events. Some merits would really benefit me, like finish troubador and nightingale for bard or GK, meditate, and overwhelm merits for SAM. But what I actually want to do, I'm not sure. Meriting after I finish MNK makes the most sense because then I won't be stuck doing constant merit parties and I can break it up a bit with leveling RNG. One thing I discovered while leveling for Maat's Cap was definitely taking breaks between doing the same boring thing over and over again. It helps a lot when you can break it up by meriting on SAM, meriting on BRD, exping RNG, then meriting on RNG, meriting on BRD, meriting on RDM, etc. If I was relegated to just meriting on BRD for the rest of eternity I would probably want to just shoot myself. lol

I guess at the rate I'm going that decision is still a few months off though. Getting MNK out of the way will help me feel sooooo much better because I hate being so close to being done with MNK but just can't quite seem to get there.

Another random thought I've been having lately, level BRD on Screamineagle so I can always leech a party off of him. I mean that is a great idea since I would always have a BRD in my party and its not like dual boxing a BRD is all that dificult since you since 3 or 4 songs every 2 and half minutes. Plus it wouldn't be terrible to have a BRD at 75 on a second character, like I did with Disdain before he decided to token his account and then quit. PUNK! :P

Anyways, if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions please let me know. Input is always welcome.

Dunzo with Monkzo

As you can probably guess by the title, I now have MNK at 66!!! It was a painful party to be in last night because the one SAM was a moron and kept screwing up Hybrid's and myself's Howling Fist to SATA Tachi: Yukikaze. This SAM was trying to create a 6-hit set up I think at level 60, it was kind of sad to watch it. He also had no concept of lining up straight across from the tank so Hybrid could SATA the sadly geared NIN tank.

What is with people wearing crap gear. I can gear some of these jobs that these people are wearing soooooooo easily and it wouldn't even cost much. A High Breath Mantle is the most important piece of gear a tank can have and it only costs about 8k on Hades. 8k for 50 charges of Enmity+5 and HP+38, WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE?!?!?! This is a no brainer! The friggin NIN last night was wearing a Nomad's Mantle at 61. WHO DOES THAT?!?!?! I'm sitting there thinking "Jesus f&@$ my eye Christ, these guys are retarded!!!" It is just so painful to have all of these people poorly geared when all it takes is just a little bit of research and a little bit of gil. I mean meleeing let alone tanking in your Empress Ring earns you rights to be hung from the gallows until dead. Argh, stupidity frustrates me greatly.

Now that I am done with MNK though I can go about my business with the next job in the queue, DRK. It should be very simple for me to gear it because I don't really need much and I could clean up some space from the gear I'm using for MNK. As of now I still haven't decided exactly how I'm going to gear it but I know depending on where I level it will also depend on what weapon I use. If I level at 50 I will probably use a GS because the GS at 50 is really nice, but if I do East Ron [S] parties I will use a GA because Sturmwind owns at that level. I guess I may just have to carry around 2 weapons then just in case. Scythe probably won't be an issue until I get to close to 60 because then I get Guillotine which is the first good WS for it.

So I also heard from Mac last night. He said he's been busy with moving to Kentucky or something because his ship date got pushed back a month because of something with paperwork. Mac did say that he was definitely going to let me use his char while he's gone though! Too bad he said he'll probably be a ghost for a little while longer because I could really go for some extra progress in Assaults and exp considering I'm moving on to DRK now.

Tonight my gf is coming home for spring break so she'll be around for the next 10 days or so. Guess what that means, limited gaming time. It is gonna be sad not being able to make the progress that I would be hoping to anymore and not being able to collect on gil from sky. We shall have to see how much time I really do spend with her and how much I can actually get accomplished in my drastically reduced playing time. So til whenever I have an actual update again... peace!

MNK Almost Done

I've gotten a few more levels on MNK bringing me up to 64. This leaves me with just 2 more levels to go until I'm done with MNK until I decide to do Maat with it.

There are a few things that I may have to work on before I fight Maat, if ever. One of those things being my H2H skill since it is only about 20 below the cap right now and that is 2 levels under where I need to be before I can fight Maat. It has crossed my mind to try to go skill up on WAR instead because it is at 75 but there is a glaring problem with that, WAR's H2H skill caps at 210 and I'm already at 203. Guess that means I take Screamin out to the tree some time to skill up on Steelshells when that time comes, unless by some miracle I find an actual exp party my level to take me up to 66 so I can skill up the rest of the way.

I think I have decided on my next job to level though. It is another job I would like to eventually get to 75 but not until after I get the cap. There are 2 reasons for not getting it to 75 right away; one, I don't have the gil to gear it well, two, I just don't want to dump the time into getting that to 75 when I could be spending that time getting Maat's Cap. Now that I have built up the anticipation of my 2 or so readers, I've decided on DRK. It was a toss up betwee DRK and DRG anyways and I figured I might as well do the one I will have less fun with. DRG I think I will have some fun with because there is a lot I can do with Jumps and my Wyvern and the damage output I can do with it. So lets put DRK up to the test of damage output at lower levels and see how well it holds up at the bird camp and any other levels thereafter until 66.

Tonight I will be concentrating on MNK and if I can get a good enough party I think I'm gonna blitz for finishing MNK tonight (only about 45k left to go). So here's to hoping that goes well as well as Salvage.

EXP on Crack

All I gotta say is WOW. 6 friggin levels on my MNK on Saturday in basically just 1 party. It was like 160k worth of exp in like 9 hours. I felt like such a loser but it did feel great that I got so much done. What did suck about the whole thing was that I still LOST a rank on ffxiah.com. How does someone go from 55 to 61 and lose a friggin spot in the rankings? I swear, this week I am going to totally crack out on exp and try to blitz all the way to 66 on MNK and try to get another job to 60.

Here's the thing with getting another job to 60, I need to decide which job. Now I have had those lists of what I wanted to do next but I always change my mind so I guess I have to make a decision soon since I should be at least hitting 66 on MNK this week. The way I look at it I only have 3 choices: DRK, DRG or PLD. Of the 3 I would probably have the most fun with DRG. That being said I don't want to do all the fun jobs first or it would make the tail end of going for the cap that much harder. I think all 3 of these jobs through the E Ron [S] bird camp would be fun though. PLD would be because I get to tank and showing off the tanking skills would of course be fun. DRK would be because that is prime level for using a GA and owning with Sturmwind. Then DRG of course would be fun because of having a piercing weapon. I suppose I will just see how I feel when I finish MNK.

Now what really is gettin me going right now is that I MIGHT, still not sure yet, have access to Mac's account. He was telling me yesterday that he would think about it and let me know today since it is his last day before shipping out. It seems like I am the only person he even remotely trusts with his account. I wouldn't steal anything from his account even though he does have really nice gear, but the thing with me taking stuff off of Screamin is that I know him personally and we used to borrow gear from each other all the time, but as Mac isn't an RL friend I would feel bad about borrowing gear from him. It will suck to lose Mac for a while because between me, him, Khrone and Hybrid we have been getting a lot done over the past week and a half. The big bonus is that I will be able to use Mac as a PL in the past now and get crackin on Screamin's RDM. Depending on the situation I may even swap Screamin and Mac as PLs and help Mac move his BRD along. Here's to hoping Mac trusts me. ^^

Lots Done

I guess I'll just start with all the exp that has been done this week. It hasn't exactly been what I had planned but moving towards Maat's Cap is really the big goal which I have been doing.

Started with a SMN burn party that was nice but its so short because it only lasts 2 pulls and then you need to find a new person to level sync to 13-15 with. Its a great idea but just not legit for a long term party. I suppose I can't really complain though since I did get 4 levels on my SMN in about 2 hours.

On MNK I got some exp in E. Ron [S] parties and am now 55. This is really the job I want to concentrate on this weekend because I set a goal of having it at 66 by Sunday and as of right now I really have no chance to do that unless I exp all day Saturday and Sunday.

Last night we were about ready to do Salvage and then Caol d/c's and couldn't get back online. Although when he d/c'd it was already about 10:20 which made us uber late as it was. Dray was seemingly trying to stick us being late on me, Khrone, and Hybrid. When I joined the party he said something along the lines of "that is why I wanted to change the times and change some people." I took that as a personal assault on myself because I knew starting off Dray didn't think I was reliable. When I have only missed 1 run and that was because Khrone got into a car accident that day and he wasn't sure how bad he was still shaken up by it since he did roll his Jeep. I was just going to do whatever he wanted to do that night because I was, and have been since, my brother's driver since he is still carless and I just wanted to make sure he was all good. Argh, I am just really frustrated right now about this whole thing because people are still looking at our group as an LS instead of friends doing this together. I mean I know there have to be rules but some of them are pushing so hard about how "the shell" is run ... shell? ... its 9 friggin people folks, can't we just come to a consensus on this between us instead of try saying, he's the leader he will tell us how it is? Bleh, ok, feeling better now that I'm finally just saying some of this, even though basically no one reads my blog. lol

Since we ended up not doing Salvage I went up to sky earlier than I expected and we ended up doing a lot of gods and 2 kirins. Overall the night was crappy to the LS but at least semi nice to Khrone who got his D Head ... FINALLY!!! Byakko was also extremely stingy and didn't drop his pants for us (yes I know how that sounds) either time we killed him. What is really cool is that for Haidate right now it is Wardemon -> Buyer -> Screamineagle. :D That means I am ever so close to finishing off Screamin's MNK for as far as I can really take it without doing other events with him. We also found out that the people that asked for payout are getting somewhere around 1.2M gil a piece. I'm uber pumped for that because that puts me right at the point where I could actually afford a Morrigan's Robe just by selling like 2 or 3 pieces of gear!!!! w00t!!!

Back to Screamineagle, I have been able to dual box him in some assaults and actually got him a new assault done last night. Maybe I can rank him up to FL eventually while we're moving Khrone, Hybrid, and the soon to be gone Mac up in the ranks. I also realized, just now actually, that I am totally done with Mamool Ja Training Grounds assaults! Now if I can get this one escort assault won I will be done with the first 4 ranks of assault as well.

Tonight is going to be a busy night though. After work my friend is gonna cut my hair, then I will probably exp or do assaults, then I have Salvage, then maybe another assault, then we're supposed to be going and doing Promyvion-Dem for Khrone to get him going again in CoP. Yeah, busy friggin night and then I want to just spam the crap outta my MNK so I can get moving quickly to 66. The one thing about my MNK is that it is at a bird camp level which is nice incase the 37 bird camp is full. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it goes this weekend. Til next week.

Sync'd Punching

Not must of an update really, the main thing is I wanted to post a QotD, but I guess since I'm posting I could mention a couple things.

I was happy to have a little free time on Saturday to go level my monk. Sadly I spent most of the time just standing around and then Mac finally said he'd go exp so we went and duo'd (MNK+BRD) on pets in the desert. At one point we were up around 10k/hr. I got my MNK 2 more levels out there and am now 54 and Mac got his BRD from 30 to I believe 33 or 34. That was fun to get some more exp but sad that I still couldn't use some of my really nice gear.

Another sad story is that Sush seems to have really done it to himself now. I guess someone went back through some of our drops and discovered that Sush was stealing from the LS. Supposedly there was a W Legs buyer that "donated 2 pop sets" to get it for free but it more seems that Sush just pocketed the 5M that the guy paid for them. This is just another huge bad mark on Sush's record. It is sad because he was such a great player and then he went behind so many people's backs that trusted him and swiped our gil.

Anyways, I guess I will just get back to leveling and salvage and enough sky to keep up with payout. Leveling is what I'm most looking forward to because that means I will be moving towards Maat's Cap again. My big goal for this week is to try to hit 66 on MNK by Sunday. It is a big goal but you need to push for those goals to be able to push yourself to the next level. I only have about 3 more months of being able to play as much as I do now. Once my gf moves back from school my time will be greatly cut down I'm sure. By that time I hope to be done with Maat's Cap so I can do smaller goals and events like Dynamis twice a week or Limbus twice a week or maybe even Einherjar in there twice a week.

Valkurm Party?!?!

Yeah, I couldn't really believe it myself. I level synced my 50 MNK down to 14 to exp with Hybridkiller, Mactatus, and Khrone. Hybrid invited me because he knows I come with a personal PL. This actually was a much better party than I expected because we were doing about 10k/hr at one point. Then because we were leveling so fast the exp started to really crash towards the end of the night. Overall it was pretty cool and I did get to experience Fields of Valor for the first time. The benefits from FoV are rediculous because they can give you regen or refresh for a whiel. Hearing that makes me want to say, "Back in my day..."

The plus side from that party is that I am now 52 MNK. Knocking out 2 more levels from Maat's Cap feels great I must admit. It was nice to level with people I knew too since I didn't have to worry about retards not knowing their job or screwing things up. What else was really nice was that since I was still staying with Khrone so when he was pulling I could easily tell him if he should pull or not or if he was pulling I could see him running in with the mob. Anyways, more exp on MNK is a plus for me because that brings me that much closer to whooping on the Old Man.

Tuesday we were supposed to have Salvage. I got out to Khrone's place a little later than I expected from my house because I got caught up talking to my brother that I live with normally (not the gimped carless one). I even called ahead and told Khrone that I was going to be about 15 min late since I got stalled. No biggy, or so I figured. When I get to Khrone's place I immediately run up and get on and notice there really aren't that many people there. Then I notice that Drayco is in Ilrusi Atoll doing assaults and I'm thinkin "WTF mate?!" So I throw on the Gigidy pearl and see that only Caol, Hybrid, Khrone, Mac, myself, and Dray were on. Hybrid was already putting together the party in whitegate so I jump in and notice that there are only 5 of us in the party because Dray is in assault. 10:20 or so rolls around and we all notice that dray is no longer online and on his mule in rol-mart .... ok. So maybe he just had a bad night and forgot(?) to say he wasn't coming. Anyways, we were sitting at 5 and then Ratman pops on. We are excited because then we still have a THF that we can run in with. Well, we thought we did at least because then Rat informs us that he doesn't have enough assault points for a salvage permit. At that point we decided we needed to do a little restructuring of when our group would meet. The 5 of us that were there all decided on 9PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and whenever we could on the weekends. Caol even had the times cleared with Zalorolo because it would still cut into sky but he was ok with that since it would only be a little of the beginning. So we all go our seperate ways and last night we log on and put on the Gigidy shell just to see what's up and see that Dray made an LS message of something like "Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8PM, if you can't make it 100% of the time don't come". That's when we started talking between the rest of us and thought that we may move on from "Dray's" Salvage group. Oh, and I guess someone was saying that he's changing how there would have been a priority of like if you have 2/3 of the items we would go for your 3rd item. I dunno, we all talked a little bit and are going to see how Thursday turns out before we make any final decisions. The thing right now is that I can't 100% make 8PM because I have volleyball. I can 90% make 9PM but 8PM is right in the middle of the evening causing a big ole problem with volleyball, like if I have a 7:20 game I'm boned.

Tonight will be 6:30 volleyball, 8PM(?) Salvage, and then 10PM sky. Sounds like I have quite the busy evening laid out for me. We shall have to see how Salvage turns out though because tonight could be make or break.

; ;

I come bearing more bad news, its seems as though Hybridkiller is now also retiring from the game. He is moving out to the middle of no where to move in with his girl friend. As he plays on his PS2 he will probably have problems getting internet to a room he needs it and a TV to play on. The worst part of all of this is he is talking about selling off his characters which honestly I think is a terrible idea because there is always the possibility of him wanting to come back down the road. But that's his call and sadly not mine. He said he would sell them to me if I wanted them but I've vowed never to buy an account because where is the sense of accomplishment there? I accepted Screamineagle because it was given to me by an RL friend but that is the extent of me "buying" an account is paying for a second.

Moving away from the sad stuff ... I did my escort quest on Saturday and used it on my MNK which is now 50, YAY. This weekend was also devoted to at least finishing my DRK and starting my DRG which was also accomplished. My DRK is now 50 and my DRG is now 45.

I just have not been having luck with my pet camp out in Cape Terrigan until later last night. Finally the raptor didn't respawn and then I could just run back and forth between the 2 goblins swiping pets and rocking out some good exp again. It is nice seeing about 6 or 7k solo (with a PL of course) without much trouble. What is also great is watching the damage you can do to a pet.

So I have been using my parser again and I have noticed a few things about DRK and DRG. One is either I know how to play them really well or people don't know how to play their DD jobs well. Also, DRK and DRG are some massive DDs and the DRG's wyvern is SOOOOO underrated. In the time that I was parsing with my DRK I was only outdone once and that was on bats where I couldn't land any of my Absorbs or Drain or Aspir for diddly which actually does take away from a DRK. I was outdone by that MNK by about 2 or 3% in the end which doesn't sound like much but over time it adds up.

Then on DRG, WOW, people underestimate the damage that the wyvern can do. I was in a party out in Western Alepa Desert with an amazing party: NIN, DNC, SCH, DRK, DRG (me), and BRD. This party was occasionally hitting chain 6s and we weren't being PL'd, now THATS a party. I also parsed this party and noticed that alone my DRG was doing about 36% of the overall damage, which isn't too bad since the DRK was only doing about 25%. Then I realized, hey, there's Firewing's damage too..... /jawdrops If I remember correctly, the NIN was doing about 18% and the DNC was doing about 12% and Firewing was doing about 12%... yes, my wyvern was doing about the same amount of damage as the DNC and not too much less than the NIN.... WOW! So if you add in myself with my wyvern, I was doing about 50% of the damage in that party! DRGs fuggin ROCK! Its not even like I was super decked out or had uber gear, its just that my damage output so great. I know I've said it before but all you people who still think DRG can't be a good DD, YOU'RE RETARDED!

Moving backwards a little again to DRK. I was actually surprised at the damage I was putting out on DRK when my Scythe was almost never capped and my weapon skill was basically just an extra swing and didn't do any great damage, which is another reason why that MNK bested me in damage, he had Raging Fists and I had Nightmare Scythe. I'm kind of excited to see what DRK can do with an actually decent weapon skill like possibly Vorpal Scythe or definitely Guillotine. I think I did decide that in order to just keep my weapons up to scratch though I will go with GS for my next weapon as it seems a lot better than any other weapon at 50 and it should basically be a free item for me as its just an Allied Notes weapon from Windy.

As for RL, I saw a different physical therapist today since my regular one is out of town this week and he gave me some new tips on what I should be doing to hasten my return to athletics. He is actually more of a sports therapist which is actually right up my alley since that is EXACTLY what I need my leg for. He told me about using one of those thin straps for tendons as it helps relieve the strain on it and he told me to specifically ice under my knee cap. This is because the actual inflamation that I have is under my knee cap so when I ice it I should use an ice cube for 2 minutes while pushing on the top of my knee cap to raise it to more directly apply the cold. Outside of that I need to just constantly stretch basically. I'm pumped because this is giving me hope that I could be back to volleyball within a month. :D

Goal for tonight: As I don't really feel the push anymore and I have some RL stuff to do I will just say DRG to 47 or maaaaaybe 48 depending on how lucky I am with my solo camp.

Furious

I haven't even had my cable for a week and it has already died on me once. Not just died on me at a random time, but died on my while I was in a good exp party AND right in the middle of the Heroes season premier! So I had to quickly call Khrone to get a number to actually call and yell at at Time Warner. After about 20 minutes I remembered my TV in my front room was still hooked up to our antenna so I quickly ran in there and watched the rest of the 2nd hour. GOOD SHOW! After that I did some Wii Fit and then some Wii Sports and then sleep by like 12:30. Luckily I woke up to a dead silent room because my POWER WENT OUT! I'm really having a great week...

As far as my progress last night, I only got 1 level. I did alright soloing in Gustav tunnel but its tough because you have to wait for the goblin to come close and turn away before you can pull it. Then I got a party out in Quicksand Caves with Papao and Barathorn. We were doing pretty well then BAM! that's when my cable went out. I was definitely not so happy because I was going to easily finish off my MNK and then I probably could've finished gearing up SAM and then gotten my AF weapon done, but nooooooo. So tonight I have to play catch up because now I've fallen behind. I am still having a goal of end of night Thursday to finish my MNK and SAM to 50. It just seems a better idea to me to just leave MNK there rather than try to work my way through about 5k of exp and then move away from it when I can easily get that 5k in exp scrolls in the next 3 weeks or just leave it there until I get back to it for my tier 3 goal.

Well, I think just convinced myself I'm going to stop MNK now and move on to SAM tonight. Hopefully I can hit about 44 or 45 tonight and then easily finish my SAM to 48 out in Cape Terrigan tomorrow. That would only leave me with needing 2 levels on Thursday which would be CAKE, even for soloing. Which would leave me to gearing up DRK... Wow, DRK by this weekend is scary but exciting. lol I can't wait to just keep swapping jobs because this is just so much fun to do. ^^

Goal for tonight (baring a catastrophe like last night): SAM to 44 and finishing my AF weapon quest for SAM as I'll be using that til 50.

PunchKickPunchPunchKick

That is how Raging Fists is. I took a closer look at it because Khrone and I couldn't remember what the actual animation was like. Now we know again.

This weekend I moved my gf back down to school so now I have oodles of free time on my hands since I can't do any sports now either. That means when I came back from the weekend I watched some TV and gamed the whole night.

I started off at the Cape Terrigan OP by walking all the way out there because I can't warp out there until 50 which makes it a worthless OP for me. But having to walk out there was well worth it because with my ring I was averaging about 10k/hr and then at about level 46 I was averaging about 8k/hr without the ring. I was really cruising out there until the end of the night. I started to get pretty tired and sloppy with pulling and kept having to have Screamin kill the goblins which spawned my pets which kept slowing me down. But I did get all the way up to 48 last night! That is one level further than I needed to go to keep up with my goal.

Tonight I should easily be able to hit 50 on my MNK. And after that I will switch to SAM and try to get as much exp as possible. I need to buy some extra gear to finish off gearing my SAM but it should be pretty easy to pick it up as I think I only need a GKT and the Tilt belt for ACC. Maybe grab a bow from my mule so I can pull with the bow instead of having to pull with provoke like I was for MNK when Chi Blast was down. I am now debating how I should go on SAM too ... /DRG or just /WAR. I am probably leaning towards /WAR still just for Berserk, but Jump and Attack Bonus could be better overall. Its gonna be about how I feel I guess because at this level it seems like there isn't a clear cut better sub job. Although at 50 its definitely going to be /WAR for Double Attack though, because between that and Berserk it is definitely better.

So tonight could be an exciting night of MNK and SAM fun! It all depends on how fast I can make it through the last 2 levels of MNK. Then I need to find a party on SAM otherwise I'll be in possibly CN soloing crawlers like I was on MNK for those 3 levels from 41 to 44 while waiting for a party. I can definitely see getting 2 levels on MNK and 2 levels on SAM tonight though. 4 easy levels is quite easy. I just may have to take the hit of level syncing down to a level I'm not very fond of, but I refuse to go anything under 34/35 just because it makes my uber gear crap (P Charm and O Kote).

So the hopeful goal of tonight will be MNK to 50 and SAM to 42 and finishing my AF quest for the SAM AF weapon. Quite doable and would total me 2 levels ahead of my overall goal for this tier, which is amazing!

By the Power of Grey Skull

I am Heman! Oh wait, wrong fantasy... but on the same basic trend of power. I HAVE POWER!!! This is a REALLY funny story.

My oldest brother, whom I live with, was home at about 4:30 yesterday to check on the power and get some more clothes and such and said there was still no power. He said he would probably be there until about 5:15 or so before he would head out to his gf's house. I guess he ended up leaving at about 5:45 and there was still no power. At that time I had stopped at my parent's house to drop off the shirt I borrowed for work and then proceeded back to my house. I was talking with my gf on the phone and as I was entering my house I told her "You know what would be awesome, is if I walked in my house and the power was on." AND IT WAS!!! I got home at about 6:15 and from checking the time on the clocks the power had come back on at almost exactly 6PM. Needless to say, I'm a magician, I mean I was thrilled because then I wouldn't have to drive about 30 minutes out to my brother's house (nothing against you Khrone, its just about 3x the drive to work as it would be from my house the next day).

Right then I was still talking to my gf and told her I wasn't doing anything so she could just come over because I would probably just be cleaning my room and moving around furniture because I was going to get cable installed on Wednesday. Which, by the way, awesome luck there too because I was going to call and reschedule but I ended up waiting to reschedule in case by sheer luck my power did come back on and it did! So I spent about 20 minutes moving stuff around and cleaning and then my gf came over. We just sat around and really didn't do anything except a little talking. After a while I kept asking her if she wanted to do this or do that, and she responded "No" to EVERYTHING. So jokingly, I told her what is she doing here if she doesn't want to talk to me or even look at me, yes she said no to both of those questions too? Then she kept saying how she wanted a foot massage and I told her no. After a few more "Do you want to do ..." questions I finally jokingly said, "Just go home then if you don't even want to look at me." And so she stood up and left. I figured she would just drive to the end of the street and then come back. Heck, I almost walked up to a car that was parked about 6 houses away because I thought that was her. When I sent her a text she called me back and said she was almost home already because she thought I was dead serious about her going home. Then she proceeded to tell me that she didn't feel like driving back and forth again so she wasn't going to come back over. We all know what that means, she was angry ... and I played FFXI.

Which brings us to the juicy info about yesterday. I got 3 levels on MNK last night. Most of it was soloed because no one was giving me an invite. Then at about 11:30 or 12 Neatboy sent me a tell asking if I would be willing to level sync down to 35 which I broke down and accepted. So I threw on my Purple Belt and was by far the biggest DD. I really think I was doing about 75% of the overall damage in that party. I was actually skill chaining with the THF's Viper Bite and my Backhand Blow. I'd say about 70% of the time it was junk damage, but that 30% of the time it wasn't, oh man would it lock hate on me, lol. I think at one point I did about a 270 Backhand Blow and the SC damage was about 130, needless to say I was tanking the rest of that fight. :D

Another thing I continue to realise, BRD and DNC are such an valuable commodity. I am positive I wouldn't have been doing the damage I was without the BRD and DNC because of the Madrigal and Minuet and then the Steps that the DNC was doing. Not to mention the Neatboy was the DNC and was doing a good job with it too because he was curing and using the Erase dance to help out for slows even though the WHM did have Erase and was using it. It was a fun party though because we were killing so fast and not really ever needing a break between fights so we have 3 or 4 people trying to pull at one time and whoever found a mob first would pull.

This morning when I walked into work I had an epiphany too. I can go solo on pets out in Cape Terrigan now! That definitely added a little bounce in my step because while waiting for parties now I can be gettin great exp. :D Not to mention I can be getting Screamineagle some decent exp on aggro'd Goblins then too because they definitely boosted the exp from DC and EP. I think I killed a DC and got 93 exp from the one which is WAY more than I was expecting.

Tonight will be my last chance to level though because tomorrow my gf is going to be staying at my house so she doesn't have to wash her sheets again after using them. Tomorrow we'll also be packing everything into her dad's truck and my car since she plans on driving down to school at about 8AM on Friday. Yes I said 8AM. I don't even wake up that early for work! Guess that means I'll have to make a stop at Speedway to get some cheap coffee/hot chocolate. But tonight I will be leaving work early since the cable guy is coming and then my gf is going to try and come over as soon as her like 5 loads of laundry is done. Then I have singing to go to at 7 and hopefully she won't come over after that since it'll already be 9. Which means I could hopefully get another couple levels soloing on the pets in Cape Terrigan. :D

Goal for tonight (if I can play): 46MNK, which puts me 6 levels beyond my original long term goal for this week.

Karma is a Whore

I knew this time would come when my leveling streek would come to a screeching halt. This weekend my gf was with me like literally 90% of it. So I barely got any chance to even log on. Then yesterday I actually had a few hours between seeing her and me going over to her house to watch some football.

So here I am, online, looking for a party in Crawler's Nest soloing T crawlers. Exp isn't great but I have my exp ring on so I have to try and finish that off before it wears. I kill enough to finish off the ring so I'm happy while still looking for a party in CN. Finally with much luck I get a party just around the corner from where I was soloing, HURRAY! I get there, its a level sync'd party but unlike every other party I've been in, these people were only holding the level 42s down to 40 which was simply fantastic. Now I didn't have to worry about leveling too soon so I popped my ring after about 3 mobs. We were rolling pretty well and I didn't even have Screamin by us because we were doing so well. After a few more mobs we hit a spot where a beetle popped on us and the one mage got aggro and was having problems sleeping it so I brought Screamin over to save the day, no biggie. Well, this is where Karma is faaaaaaaaannntastic. I heal up the people to save them, lock hate pretty well onto Screamin and then BAM! my power goes out. Now it only went out for about 10 seconds so I'm sitting there thinking, ok, I can live with it just going out like that and just needing to restart my computer. 30 seconds into restarting my computer, BAM! power is out for good. At approximately 5:30PM on Sunday my power was out, and at 11:30PM on Sunday ... my power was STILL out. That's when I packed up a change of clothes and went to my parents' house.

Sadly there wasn't much I could do with just my character without a PL because it was so late and it would probably take me about 2 hours just to be lucky enough to GET a party. Instead I decided to just log on as Screamin and walk around CN for a bit and just chat with some friends that were online, namely Ara and ... drum roll please ..... ARCKK!!! Yes, Arckk is back again! I believe he has been following Ara in the quit and come back trend, rinse and repeat. I guess his Non-Profit Organization that he had a grant for finally ended because the company that was backing it got restructured so it was a pain to work with them and keep the grant alive. So now he's back to just work and school. Hopefully we'll be able to see more of him back on in the game again and hopefully see Disdain come back more, and then if I'm really lucky Hybrid will come back too since he seemingly lost interest in the game temporarily due to some personal stuff.

So here I am sitting with my own little posse of part time players. The ideas begin to spin around my head again .... Limbus, Nyzul Isle, Assault, ZNM, yadda yadda yadda. If only I could get these guys to play more like myself or even as much as Khrone does I would be exstatic because then we really could make a good little group. I mean I'd have a PLD, WHM, RDM, BRD, MNK, and a few of those can be very flexible on jobs. Ugh, but sadly I still have my goals of Maat's Cap. So much to do and not enough time to do it all in!

And going back to the the Ara/Arckk trend of quitting and coming back. Ara believes he has finally decided to call it quits. Hats off to ya chap for doing something that I just cannot do. Without being able to do any sports because of me needing to rest my knee I have nothing to keep me busy then besides spending oodles of money on PS3 and Wii games. I look at FFXI not only as a good time but a good investment. Yes I realize I've spent tons of money and time on this game, but look at how much fun I have at $13 a month. That's like 1 new video game every 5 months. With the time I would spend on that new video game I'm sure it wouldn't last me 5 months which is why I believe that FFXI is actually an investment into my "fun" time. I mean if I broke it down into how much I'm spending per hour I'm on the game ... I'm probably paying pennies per hour. (assuming 60 hours per month, which is an underestimate, and $13 a month, I am paying about $0.0036 an hour playing this game, so FRACTIONS of a cent per hour) Now don't get me wrong, I know Ara is going to read this, but I'm not trying to sway him of coming back again once his account is done. This is merely me stating why I play this game. I remember the 10 days I was without internet a few months ago ... I spent over $600 buying a Wii and a couple of games and spending time with that. Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii and I'm glad I have it, but when I'm missing my internet for 10 days and I go on a spending spree like that, its just not smart. Alright, enough explaining why I play this game. Hopefully when I get home tonight I will be able to log on and get some stuff done in game ... like finishing off my exp ring, AGAIN!

Weekly goal: MNK 44 by the time I help my gf move down to school this coming weekend.

Suck on my Level Sync

Ok, I'm REALLY not a fan of Level Sync. I'm still hoping that one day people will realize what Level Sync was actually meant for instead of trying to bring all your friends back to the dunes. I love exping as much as the next person, but I've leveled 17 jobs through the dunes ... count it ... 17 jobs! Valkurm has lost all its pizzaz for me, I'm sorry.

I also didn't really make any friends last night either. I was in a decent party with a few 75s ... in Valkurm. Yeah, STUPIDO!!!! But the exp wasn't bad, we were killing pretty fast and what not. So I meant to send a message to my "LS" which only had 1 other person on at the time, go HacTao, but instead I sent this to my party, "I really wish I would've come level sync with you :/" Needless to say the lively conversations that were going on in the party ceased and they were probably talking about me in their LS chat. Whatever, whoeve brings a couple 75s to Level Sync in the dunes is obviously a tard because it is TOTALLY WORTHLESS!!!!!! Me level syncing down from 40 was worthless. "Exp is exp" is what the guy told me, so I agreed, then I realized "Valkurm is still valkurm". Yeah, just bitter about the whole Level Sync thing now.

But on a brighter note my MNK is 41 ... yay...

Step 1 Goal Achieved!

Step 1 is now complete in my grand scheme of my glorious hat! I just have to be sure that I don't let up on my goals. I really need to keep myself focused on this because I see so much going on around me that I'm "missing out on" but I feel like I am actually getting something just as good done.

Like last night Sush was bugging me to join his Sky LS and that I have an open invitation whenever I want to join them. Which would really be great because they actually get stuff accomplished in Sky and do really well on the gods. They also go through a lot of pop sets and kill a lot of the gods weekly. Its just that it would really take away from my goals right now. I mean some of that gear would be AMAZING when I get to end game with some of these jobs, but I need to get the jobs there first. I think I will still hold off as long as I possibly can because I really want to get most of my jobs to 66 before thinking about end game again. After I get a bunch to 66 I can start working on getting gear for them end game while working on finishing off the last job or 2.

Last night was also my first experience with Level Sync, and to be honest I was a little underwhelmed. I synced up with my brother's SMN at 21 with my MNK at 38. First off, whenever the level sync person levels, EVERYONE loses TP. (No biggie) Second, my level 15 knuckles added more to my attack than my level 32 knuckles. (Kind of annoying when I realized that) Thirdly, when I hit 40 and threw on my Brown Belt ... my Purple Belt still added more STR than my Brown Belt and I essentrially ditched all the hast bonus on it which is what makes it good. I can understand them bringing down the strength of the uber end game gear but when there isn't really a big difference between some of the gear why cut off all the extras of it. Essentially you are saying "Hey! We're saving you inventory space by scaling back your higher level gear when you want to!" but they left out the fact that even gear that isn't that great at that level will still probably be better than the scaled down version of even the best higher level gear. Now I didn't do any full testing with say O Kote or Republic Subligar, but I'm assuming it is really cut apart too. And O Kote becomes that much worse because the EVA-5 still holds strong even at level 1. This probably makes the O Kote at level 20 about an ATT+5 and EVA-5 piece of gear (if you're lucky). Again, I'm not as amazed with this as I thought I would be.

Not to mention that when I was actually trying to find a party, there were like 7 parties in Qufim Island. This is going to really stress the lower level exp areas until people realize it is still better to join parties with people around your level. That way you can still keep the added effects of your level 39 Haste boots, or you level 34 O Kote, or your level 33 P Charm, or keep your elemental Ni wheel at 40. I think it will just have to sink in to people that dropping to level 15 isn't going to be the answer to trying to exp your way through the grind of the 60s. I mean you can get higher chains and more exp per hour at some of those higher camps anyways. Again, I think it'll just take some time for people to realize what Level Sync is actually good for and not go overboard with it.

Now that I am a full 10 days ahead of schedule I have to try and keep ahead of schedule and keep exping whenever I possibly can because I know later on down the road I AM going to fall behind for one reason or another. So in the spirit of keeping myself ahead of the game I will try to use these next 10 days to get myself from 40 to 50 on MNK. That way I can be 10 levels closer to finishing my next tier goal before I was even planning on starting it. I am really hoping that I am overestimating getting all 8 of jobs under 50 to 50. I had given myself 1 full month to get every Maat's job to 50 (Oct 19th), but if I can hit MNK to 50 before that month even starts that will be a huge gain for myself. If I can get MNK to 50 before the 19th I will have to do approximately 2.5 levels a day for a month to hit my goal which is REALLY easy. With having my weekends open now I could probably crank out a full 10 levels in 1 weekend let alone in 5 days. If I got really lucky I might even be able to get 2 jobs to 50 in 1 weekend (Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday). I guess this second tier goal is all about OBLITTERATING the end date so I can get started that much sooner on the last tier goal of 66. It will also give me time to do all of my AF for all of my jobs ... which I am REALLY not looking forward to. I mean I will have THF at 50 by then so I could just take that out and have Screamin solo all the mobs so I'd have that TH2 to work with making life easier, but that is still a TON of coffer keys and quests to do. 30 coffer keys and 28 quests. BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! Granted that does include finishing my WAR AF which I don't plan on doing (so total that I will do is 27 coffers and 27 quests). Anyways, that will just have to be where I stand for now with AF and all that junk because I will probably take a full week or two to just complete it all.

As for current short term goals, I will be saying ... level 45 by the end of Saturday. If my gf doesn't stay over tonight or tomorrow night I should be able to make about 42 or 43 and should be able to finish off the last 2 or 3 levels on Friday after work or Saturday when I might hopefully possibly have a break from her in the afternoon. Now a lot will lay on parties because there is not much I can do as far as soloing since all solo camps at this level are elementals. Maybe at 44/45 I could run out to Cape Terrigan and see what kind of damage I can do there, but I will have to try that when I get there.

Exp-aholic

Hi, my name is Treubond, and I'm an exp-aholic. I can do a chain 6 solo on goblin pets with a PL. I can also go from 34 to 37 in a matter of 2 hours ... solo. I'm a beast. I can put my fists through spiders like its my job. I PWN! Thank you.

Yulp, 3 levels on MNK last night ... before 9:30PM!!! That's just amazing!!! The exp was flowing soooooooooooooo fast. I'm very excited to see how fast I can roll out to 40 or 50 now. I still could pull out another level or 2 on these pets which would take me to 39 or so and then it would be time to either Level Sync or head to Crawler's Nest. I can't believe how fast I was exping last night ... it was RECOCKULOUS!!! And yes, I did do a chain 6 solo last night, with a PL of course. OMG, and I just realized something else ...

ALL MAAT'S CAP SUB JOBS ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!! D - U - N DONE!!!!!!!

w000000000000t!!! Man, I am feeling FANTASTIC right now!

Whew, its gonna be a while before I come down from this high. I can feel this first tier goal coming to a close and me working my way to 50 on all my jobs now. This is very exciting! Can you feel it?!?!

Ok ok ok ok, now I need to start planning out where I need to level all of my jobs from 40 to 50 now. As far as solo spots, the only good ones I know of for at least the beginning of the 40s are elemental camps which just won't work for melee jobs. Its looking like I will have to party from 40 to about 44/45 then I could try to pull off the blm solo camp out in Cape Terrigan where the rabbits are. It was great exp on my BLM but was a giant pain in the butt with bunny linking. I will have Screamin who can still easily kill these so it wouldn't be much of a problem I suppose. Also, there is a nicer camp just NE of the OP which means I can avoid the plethora of rabbits right by the OP. That will have to be a bridge that I cross when I come to it though. I will be getting plenty of experience leveling jobs in the 40 to 50 range because I have 8 of them that need to get to 50.

PLD, SMN, and WHM I will be more than likely partying the whole way since they aren't really DDs. Well, SMN can be, but its not powerful enough yet because of lack of really strong BPs and good gear. PLD can be a good DD but I'd rather just tank because it is one of the harder jobs to find for a party so making it party is just a smart call I think.

MNK, SAM, DRG, DRK, and possibly THF could be soloable jobs to 50. They actually have good damage output possibilites, but again with THF, its better in a party set up because of SATA so I think I will just be using that in a party as well. Although, the more I think about it, I would probably prefer to just level all of them in parties because it can get boring solo. There will be levels where the exp is really slow so I definitely could move on to a solo camp, but I guess from here on out I will be trying to go party first, and then solo as a last resort.

So as to not continue too far off into the future I need to keep my head grounded and my eyes on the prize still. Short term goal for the week: MNK to 40 by Friday. This is DEFINITELY possible because of how fast I flew through my levels last night. Not to mention I am pretty sure my gf will be giving me a full night off from her tonight or Thursday because she is finally getting it that she is constantly down my throat. So I guess me dropping the hints of the problems in my oldest brother's relationship are finally getting through to her, haha.

Mama said knock you out

Hurray for the gf being in a bad mood! That gave me a chance to do some escort with Khrone and level my MNK more. :D

From 30-32 ... MNK just sucked. I wasn't really having fun because I wasn't accurate at all and my damage was just meh. Once I hit 33 and threw on my P Charm ... I completely whiffed a Combo. After that, I was rocking out though. My overall accuracy really jumped when I put on the P Charm and I can really see why this is considered one of the best overall neck pieces in the game. The accuracy helps more than I really thought it would. My accuracy went from somewhere around 30-40% to about 75%. This is such a huge jump for damage over time and help keeping chains alive in my usually crappy parties. The one thing I do have to say, I am soooo glad I started a party on Sunday because we did really well and I rarely used Screamineagle again. I really like the parties that are self sustaining because that means the people in the party are good players. We had MNK, DNC, RNG, SCH, RDM, and PLD. Pulling was a little sluggish but he kept waiting for the PLD to get some MP back which is cool and understandable. As for healing we were golden because the DNC/NIN had back up healing down and even off voking when the mob would occasionally move on to the RNG or a mage. I couldn't believe the RDM's damage on nuking too, he was doing as much as the BLM was at that level (around 90s w/o MB).

I'm pretty sure everyone in the party got 2 levels by the time we disbanded too. The DNC was a level higher than everyone else but was well worth having because of the extra tanking and the extra healing. In an EXP party DNC are a really good addition because they can heal, off tank, AND debuff, all while doing a little bit of damage. I think this was kind of the whole purpose of COR too but I think DNC does a much better job. Yes DNC doesn't have a refresh dance but when a DNC can just save the mages MP I think it is just as good.

It was also very reassuring hitting 34 and throwing on my O Kote because now I know for sure that I will be able to rock out in my desert paradise! Now I just hope Screamin's MP can keep up with my chains because I won't have to be stopping to rest for MP like on SMN, but on MNK I will be taking so much more damage and will be needing so much more healing. Guess I won't really know how it'll go until I go out there and start rockin on some Goblin pets.

As for tonight, NEW UPDATE!!! (I will now be taking a break from completing this post as to wait for the full update to be released in about an hour.)
...
And I'm back! As expected, the number one thing everyone is looking forward to is Level Sync. But for me I am more thinking about the exp boost for EPs and DCs. I think that will make much more of a difference because that may have more people trying to solo, such as I do, but not picking mobs that are EM, T, or VT to them but rather more around DC, EM, or T to them for a safer approach.

There is so much in this update but honestly, I don't feel that it is that big of an update outside of Level Sync. Some adjustments here and there with items and mobs but nothing earth shattering ... except Nyzul Isle. I think the updates to Nyzul Isle could really be a factor in people going to do that now because now everyone can save their data instead of just having 1 person do it. This is an event I've done a few times but now I'm really interested in because the gear in there is pretty nice and to top it all off ... ITS FREE! That in itself makes it very attractive gear. Just like the ZNM gear that is free but you have to do some background photo taking in order to get the Zeni.

A few other nice things have been implemented, like the drop in price of Limbus and dynamis or the storing of your KS and BC with an NPC. I think more of something that I would like to do now is more small group dynamis since the price has been cut in half and the drop rates have been increased which is FRIGGIN AWESOME!

Ok, so I lied, there is more really slick stuff in this update that I just didn't think of all at once but as I'm skimming over the update again I'm getting excited again. This all means that a low man end game shell is becoming more and more likely for me. I would love to get a regular group to do dynamises to just get AFv2 gear and then AF+1 from limbus. There would be soooo much good gear to be gotten by such few people! Man, I'm pumped for all of this extra stuff, but the big problem is that I'm still going for Maat's Cap. Argh, they keep throwing monkey wrenches into my bigger plans! I will definitely be keeping on my goal of the old man's cap by EOY because I think I could throw in a few smaller events like Nyzul Isle or assaults or a low man dynamis or a low man limbus. I just wouldn't be able to join regular groups because that would definitely slow me down. But I could definitely see getting a group of very skilled friends together to go whoop some butt in an icelands dynamis. Weeeeeeee, my dreams of Duelist Tabard and Hat are still possible!!!

Back to level sync briefly before wrapping this up. I am looking forward to being able to level with my friends now because basically no matter what level we are we will be able to go pimp slap some mobs together and get some good exp! That means my brother won't feel as left behind even though I will be so far ahead. This also means I have to plan soloing better around partying. Right now I'm at a perfect level for my desert glory so level syncing with him would just kind of be a waste for me but a great gain for him. So I would probably go hit 37 on my MNK before level syncing down with him to help him get say his WHM out of the dunes(since that is his current thing he's doin). I just have to keep a wary eye on what I'm doing for levels because I could be gaining great exp duoing with someone at a certain level, I could be gaining great exp soloing at my leve, or I could even be gaining great exp at my own level just by partying. Many more factors have come into me exping my way to the old man's cap. All of which I will be doing I'm sure, just as long as I keep the exp rolling.

On another quick note and little goal for myself, I want to keep myself in the top 100 on the Hades server according to FFXIah.com. Lately I've been hovering just in the top 100 but now I'm at 97. I need to keep up with exping because the people around me in the ranking seem to all be doing some sort of leveling also. Most of them were finishing off jobs to 75 which means they will get big leaps over my even a few levels on low jobs. Its just something I try to do to keep me going though.

More of the same

Well I logged on, was pumped I got a party pretty quickly. Then they say, "Garlaige Citadel please." And that's about where my excitement ended. I still had hopes because the party was decently set up, at least job wise, with NIN, NIN, THF, MNK, SCH, and WHM. Sounds like a decent party right? Well it would be if the one NIN wasn't an idiot and knew how to tank or line up for SATA. This was also the same NIN that was wearing gear that was no higher than 21 at level 32. Now I know there is some nice gear at 21, but when none of it is HQ there is a problem. Another problem was that (s)he was using Blade: Teki... NEVER EVER USE BLAD: TEKI!!!! It is quite possibly the worst weapon skill in the game and has absolutely no bonuses that would be worth the crap damage that it does. Finally when our good NIN "d/c'd", I say it like that because I've done my fair share of fake d/cing and I know that's what he did (right after a kill), I decided to take things into my own hands. I started lining up for SATA using Screamin to grab hate and stand behind the NIN while the THF SATA'd me. Then I would usually follow up with a Combo to do a skill chain. That was about the point where our WHM and SCH realized that we were pretty money from then on and started nuking to the best of their abilities. The SCH had some nice nukes occasionally. I think I saw one of his nukes land for almost 100 a few times. In all for the party I only got a few thousand exp again and of course I still have my jack on and my exp ring was actually used this time. You know what that means ... I need to try to level right quick so I can maybe possibly hopefully try to start soloing out in the desert.

Outside of MNK, there is really nothing going on in game. I almost bought some Ancient Beastcoins last night because I saw them for 6k each when they normally go for about 8k. I should've grabbed them while I had the chance... oh well. At some point I will be getting myself back into Limbus to get some coins and then upgrade some more gear and maybe get a boxer's mantle or brutal earring, but I think unless I really join an end game LS I am going to rule out the musical earring.

Other than me thinking about more stuff I want to do in the game I am still just trying to get more and more jobs up to complete my 1st tier goal of all jobs to 37/40 by September 19th. After that I work my way to all jobs at at least 50 by beginning/mid October and then do all of my AFs for all of my jobs in 1 week. Now that's what I'm REALLY looking forward to! Doing AF quests are the bomb!!! /wrists... Eh, at least I can store them to save some room and get rid of the gear that doesn't really cross over. I think at that point I will kind of be excited to do all of my AFs though because it means I am that much closer to my final goal of being a big loser and getting "old man's"/Maat's Cap. Ahh, just the sound of me having Maat's Cap gives me the jitters because its so gosh darn exciting and will be the biggest project in the game that I've ever finished! After that I think I've already decided on working on Bonecraft to 100 as my new big project. But enough about things that I might be doing in like 4 months.

As for tonight and this weekend I'm not sure how much time I will have to game, again. Tonight my gf already has us planned on going out with one of her friends. Saturday I have a golf outting which will take up basically the entire day. Then Saturday night I will probably be doing something with my gf again. But Sunday is a hopeful day because I could have some time to myself since I have a ton of stuff that I still need to do around my house. My gf always yells at me to clean my room, but I don't think she gets that I don't have time to clean my room because she is the one taking up that time that I would spend cleaning my room and house. Oh, and just as a quick side note ... my power was out this morning, HURRAY. Which meant I was late to work. It better be back on when I get home tonight because I wanna get a lil gaming in (Choco race and maybe escort) while folding my laundry.

Quote of the Day:
Me: Kmtey, please don't EVER use Blade: Teki again. Please use Blade: Retsu.
Kmtey: Ok.
Kmtey readies Blade: Teki.
Treubond sighs dejectedly.
