Happy Halloween! Time to stuff my face with chocolate chocolate chocolate. I have been eating so healthy this week, but then all this damn chocolate around me ... I CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF!!! Last night I broke down and opened my bag of candy for the little kiddies and I ate like 8 pieces, WHOOPS. Tonight I get to relax for a few hours without my gf because she is going to her cousin's house to see her niece and nephew dressed up and going trick or treating. I am not going because I got relegated to handing out the candy to the rug rats. Guess that means I get to play FFXI and RB2 then eh?
Last night was a day I tried to push myself and I actually got a level on my PLD. I was VERY stressed for time because I got into a party with an hour and a half before gods were supposed to start. By the time I got there and we got started another 2 people had to leave so we were down to less than an hour after only a few mobs. Then waiting around for other people and then finally switching camps. I ended up not even being able to finish using my ring off because we barely killed anything. I only got about 4k exp total wasting like 1/3 of my ring. In the end I wasn't really bothered by it because at least I got SOME exp and a level which makes me happy. No matter how small of progress it was it was still progress.
We then went up and got to sky, got TP, got ready to pop Suzaku, and then realized the guy with all the pop sets was still in Limbus. Luckily he was up in sky about 15 min after we realized this so we decided to just wait for him. We whooped on Suzaku with only 1 tank dying from a Chainspell Firaga III on him but other than that it was cake. Then we moved on to Sieryu whom we also whooped on easily and had one of our PLDs actually Invincible on his 2hr so that was cake as well. After that we broke out and everyone had to go gear up for another Kirin TP burn. I have to admit, I'm actually surprised with my overall damage on it because I realized I had forgotten to 2hr at the start AND I didn't put hasso up until about halfway through. I still ended with about 5300 total damage and about 8.4% of the overall damage. Considering how poorly I think my WAR is gear I think that is fantastic. I would say I was on the lower end of the middle crowd, about 4th or 5th lowest DD. Of course the DRK with an HP build and a Mercurial Kris did over 13% but that's like cheating because of Souleater and his 2hr. Good job to Aguaa none the less for working that damamge. I do have to take some credit for it though because I was in one of Aguaa's parties while he was blitzing his DRK at like level 74 while level syncing down to the bird camp in the past.
Still no W Legs dropped but Sush got his D Body (Shura Togi) and someone else got an Osode. The other gods we did really didn't drop anything worth while and basically everything was a total waste that did drop. I thought about just letting Sieryu's Sword free drop to me but I doubt I would ever use that sword so its not like the 5 points would be worth it. It seems that the LS has been having really bad luck with Waters and Diorites so those were the main things we were trying to go for but never seem to get. Two nights ago we spent hours doing dio/water farming and got nothing, which is just terrible luck because we even had TH4 in the dio party. As for farming last night, I decided I was too tired after we beat Kirin so I just went to bed.
This weekend I will have very little time to game, of course, because my gf is going to be in town before I even get out of work. She does have a lot of homework to do so I may get some free time to level my PLD and crank out a level or 2 on it ... hopefully. I am kind of excited to getting back to PLD because I feel that I am doing a pretty good job holding hate on PLD and being a decent DD too. On some of the crawlers last night I was probably averaging about about 25 per swing which isn't too shabby. Although, I am more looking forward to being done with all of these jobs to 50 so I can move back to the things I really want to do. And on a side note, I don't think I will be doing WHM from 42 -> 66 right away because now that I have a sky shell and busy a lot more I won't be hitting my end of year goal. This puts me to doing jobs that I really want to now then, like my MNK and SAM. I think I will be doing SAM first though because I think I will have more fun with that than I will with MNK, even though I know I'm gonna like MNK too.

RL Craziness
Last night kinda just sucked. To start off, I didn't get out of work until about 6:15. Right after work I had to stop at my parents' house because they were having problems with their one computer connecting to the internet which it turned out there was just a loose connection between the router and the computer. After that I had about negative 10 minutes to eat and get somewhere else. Oh, did I mention my mom got into a car accident too? She's fine, but the guy that side swiped her did a doozy to her back tire. I guess she did like a 270 after getting hit and also ended up driving over someone's lawn because she got spun around so much she had to avoid hitting the guy that hit her. Anyways, moral of the story, I didn't even get home until 9:30. Yay for me and crappy days. I mean I didn't even get a chance to play Rock Band 2 last night... /cry
After I got home I was just being super lazy because I had no interest in really doing anything except being lazy. I did end up going to sky though on RDM, so I got to sit back and be a glorified WHM. I did get to recap my exp on RDM twice last night because the super smart NIN came NIN/DNC so he couldn't provoke the one stat off of me after I pulled it so I got to sit there and die. But after about 2 hours of farming we didn't get any pops because Water and Dio were being whores.
All in all, last night just sucked balls. The only thing that I really got accomplished was getting more sky points and a little bit of merit points. Well, I guess I did regear my PLD so I will be ready to go tonight if I decide not to go to sky .... unless they decide to do gods tonight instead of just farming I want to go level my PLD. I do kinda want to get back to exp a little, especially now that I have some pretty good gear for my PLD and I am sooo close to having all of my jobs at 50. Once I have them all at 50 I will be so much more relaxed and then can go back to enjoying leveling jobs that I really want to level like MNK and SAM. Next week should be a really good week for leveling because Khrone will be back and he has a few jobs at 37 that we can abuse in the bird camp which means my SMN at least should fly to 50. I don't want to really use my PLD there because of how easy it should be to get parties as a tank.
There are still a few things I need to do tonight before I really get down to exp. I need to do my choco race because my DRG still isn't 50 yet. I need to clear out some more inventory space because my outbox is still full since I never go on my mule to collect gear that I send there. There is still more gear that I need to send to my mule and a few pieces of my PLD gear that I need from my mule.
Bleh, I'm not really feeling well, maybe I will leave work early today and take a nap or try to level my PLD before my early volleyball game tonight. I think I need more sleep at night because I find that I just have no drive to do anything anymore. Hope I can fix that a little tonight then.

My First Kirin Burn
To start off the evening I had a bunch of RL stuff to do ... again. But once I got done with that I got a chance to log on and chat with some friends while playing RB2 (GOT MY SOUND GUY) and then headed back out to volleyball. I ROCKED in volleyball again btw. :D
Once I got home it was time for gods. This was going to be my first time with gods in LolFail. Started with Seiryu which was pretty easy, just bound him on his 2hr and we were fine and it surprisingly went well and people disengaged on it in time too. Then we moved on to Suzaku which went well but not as smoothly as one would hope because a few people died from his 2hr because people were really slow on unlocking from him. Those two were pretty easy though, but the real test was up next. It was time for Byakko which I figured would actually let me know how good this LS was. I must admit, Byakko went very smoothly, probably more smoothly than the other two actually. One thing I must say I was impressed with was people were actually on top of the paralynas. Oh, and to top it off, Haidate dropped so that is another person out of the kitty pants line.
Now we move on to the main event, my first Kirin burn. So I actually got to come on my WAR/SAM which was REALLY surprising because my WAR isn't all that well geared especially because Disdain has some of my gear still, like my assault earring and someone else has my chiv chain. Oh well, I swore I wouldn't dump any gil into my WAR until I got Byakko's Haidate which I am sticking to. I will put some more effort into it when I actually have the gil to put into it, like actually lotting on some Heca gear. But back to what I was talking about, the Kirin burn. Each party had a WHM, a BRD, and 4 DD. We did a few practice runs to get the BRDs around to each party with songs gotten out. Its a good thing they did the practice runs because the first try was terrible, and the 2nd one Sush d/c'd, but it was better on the 3rd, and the 4th was when we actually went. I didn't actually parse it but I feel that I did a pretty good job, even without using Mighty Strikes which looking back I should have done. Once the BRDs finished their songs Sush popped Kirin and we just rocked Kirin. His 2hr didn't even kill anyone which was VERY surprising, and no one died at all because the whm nailed benediction right on time. Sadly no W. Legs dropped but N Body and Osode dropped which were both very welcome since that knocks people down in points a lot which brings me up ever so slightly.
Overall it seems like this could be a fun LS to be in. And to be perfectly honest, I was happy for the people that got the drops. I didn't get anything but I don't really expect to be in contention for anything for another week or two. It was a good feeling though to be able to help other people out and get them what they want/need to better gear their jobs. I would be lying if I didn't say it was a good feeling to have myself move that much closer to getting gear for myself too. For this LS I think I will do the smarter thing and instead of just sitting on points like I always used to do I plan on getting what I can, while I can. Although, some of this gear seems to be almost free dropping which would cut the point costs greatly so I may just stick to hoping they free drop to me for a minimal point loss.
Tonight is more RL stuff and then more sky. I may actually try to gear up my PLD tonight too. PLD will be my next job and I might as well get it ready because next week I will have oodles of more free time which means I can go exp again. I guess I will shoot for PLD at 50 by the end of next week maybe since my gf will be around this weekend and then I will have sky stuff late nights which is usually when I get the most exp in.

The World is Coming to an End
You heard it correctly, its over, Armageddon is upon us! Say your prayers because today is judgement day! MY BLM IS NOW CAPPED IN EXP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .... I'll give you a second to recover from the heart attack you just had....
Welcome back. Well, I guess that means there is a good reason for sky farming, BLM exp. I got the last 12k exp I needed to cap it in the past 2 days sky farming. It seems like a pretty good group of people up there and they are all easy going. Some of them have some really nice gear but don't know how to play their job well which goes to show, gear doesn't always make the player. Then the biggest thing I just couldn't believe was one of the sacks called for help on Faust. Needless to say my jaw kinda dropped. Only the tank ended up dying though because everyone else just logged out to lose hate. It also gave me a chance to finish my 3 song set I was doing in RB2. hehe Only need a few more stars to get my song guy!
Sorry, got sidetracked. We sadly only got Faust and a Ulli because Ulli was the main thing we needed for more Byakko because we have a few sets of everything else. It was relaxing just sitting up there, watching TV, and blowing stuff up. I felt like I was duoing stats though because Sush's BLM is only 72 and wasn't really nuking for much and the RDM was only landing Grav about 2/3 of the time. It was strange that my enfeebs were landing more than the RDMs.
All I have left to see in this group is gods. They have handled all trigger mobs pretty well so time to see how they do on gods. Tonight we are supposedly doing a Byakko, Kirin, and maybe some Suza and Sieryu, but I'm not 100% sure. I just know the Byakko and Kirin for sure though ... hopefully. It would be nice to see some more people move out of my way in my run for W Legs or B. Haidate. Another problem I foresee is just like every other LS I'm in, I will probably be coming on BLM. If you don't like BLM, don't let anyone know you have it because they will ask you to come it every time.
Before actually heading up to sky I have to go out and get my tuxedo that I got tailored, get a suit for Halloween that I can kinda ruin, and then I have volleyball at 9. It will be full day again but hopefully I can get the suit quickly from a thrift store because I want to get my sound guy tonight in RB2. :D

Another Sad Loss
As of last night Swifman is now on Titan server. He was originally jumping to go snag himself a Hauteclaire but I guess they actually wanted him to join the LS. I guess he just wanted a change and to meet some new people. He told me that if things go really well over there he is going to try and convince me to move but I don't really see myself ever switching servers again. I did it once a long time ago back when I was in a non end game LS and basically all my friends jumped over so I had no real problem with it. This on the other hand I would be leaving all the people that I know including my RL friends which I CAN'T do. They are really what's holding me to the game still.
Anyways, this weekend I was out of town again so not much as far as gaming. Last night I did get a Castle Z coffer Key for my THF AF so I won't have to pick it, but the main reason I got it was because Beerman needed a testimony for his SAM so I went to help him out. It was fun killing some of those demons and amazing how easy they are.
Once we finished that, which was actually pretty quickly, key on first mob and test on 2nd SAM mob, I decided I was going to join Sush's Sky shell. Yeah, I know, its really going to slow me down from gaining levels but in the mean time I can get points in a sky shell to get gear that I REALLY want and I will be making some gil. Making gil is always a necessity because I haven't been abusing Screamin's cooking at all really. I still haven't tried to use it for profit, I've only used it for cheaper food. If I actually dedicated a little bit of time to crafting I'm sure I could make a couple 100k a week. The only way I see myself doing that is this week during lunch because Khrone is out of town which means all of my lunch hours are totally free so I could actually run home and snag lunch and craft.
So I guess I have decided that I'm going to be doing some end game again and at least getting my 15 points a week to be able to receive my payout for the week. Besides that I will be looking forward to the gear that I will be eventually getting.
Tonight will be a really busy night because I have a ton of RL stuff and then when I get home I will have Sky to attend and maybe even some gods to kill. I'd be completely ok with sitting on the outside of the fighting alliance and just getting points while I sit back and play a little Rock Band 2. :D I am thinking I won't be getting any new exp done this week because I will be so busy, but after this weekend I won't see my gf for 3 weeks and I will definitely be cutting back on my RL stuff. Which means starting next week I will be getting back to exp and hopefully cruising my way to 50 on my last few jobs.

There is hope for this game
So to finish off THF I logged back in in Gustav Tunnel and there were 2 guys killing everything at my camp. At first I was kinda bummed, but then they realized I was going for the goblin pets and left the goblin BSTs alone. They were 2 JP guys that didn't speak any English but were very nice. I mean, they even cried for me the one time I died.
All in all I did get to level 50 on THF and was very happy. This means I am now done with THF for a very long time, which makes me very happy. It just did not seem like anyone wanted to invite a THF even though I was a good DD simply because I understood HOW to play the job. And knowing is half the battle... GI JOOOOOOOOOOE!!!!!!!! Oh, um... Yeah, but groups just didn't like inviting me so I had to try to make deal and go solo.
I am actually very happy that I am done with THF, not only because I am done with a job I haven't really been having fun with but because I get to open up a bunch of inventory space now. I think starting last night I had about 5 open slots, now after sending a bunch of stuff back to my mule I have about 15 spots and still stuff that needs to be sold. Not to mention the next job on my list will be a very liked job ... PLD! One of the biggest problems with starting a party is finding a tank and since I will be one, and hopefully a well geared one, I shouldn't have any problems at all getting a party.
PLD will be a good change of pace because for one I won't have to carry all that extra gear around and I can start showing how much I'm learning about all of these jobs that I am playing. My goal will be to get all of these jobs at some point to 75 and actually KNOW how to play them and play them all pretty well. PLD is one that kind of worries me because I have to know what I need to do to hold strong hate even over a very good DD. I have been toying around a little on Screamineagle's but it is still hard sometimes because I'm not exactly sure what I should be doing and when and all of that jazz. Learning the ins and outs of the job is what leveling is all about though, so when I hit 50 I believe I will be pretty confident tanking end game since I don't really get anything new besides gear between 50 and 75.
I guess more than anything I am looking forward to having a job that I should be able to get quick parties on and be able to speed through levels again. There is something about the grind of leveling that makes it so rough, but there is something completely different about blitzing through levels. The grind is tough because you really feel like it is a struggle for every party you get and every mob you fight, but when you are blitzing through levels it almost becomes second nature to you and you hardly notice how fast you are going. I dunno, I guess I will just have to wait and see how it goes when I actually gear it up and go.
This weekend is another weekend of visiting my gf because it is a home OSU football game and they are playing Penn State which means a HUGE game. Basically whoever wins this puts themself in contention for the National Championship game. But all that means that I won't be gaming until Sunday and I have a feeling I may be joining Sush's Sky LS on Sunday as well. I could really use the steady flow of gil as an income to help pay my way to some new good gear and help pay for my leveling because when I get to RNG its going to get expensive. Not to mention only looking forward to Maat's Cap doesn't have the incentive that it did before. I'd really like to have some of the Shura gear waiting for me when I get high enough and be able to snag some w legs .... :D and some N gear to be able to make my WAR worth while and DRG when I get it there. Its just there are always spots I could upgrade on all of my jobs. So I guess that's it for now. Have a good weekend.

All in all I did get to level 50 on THF and was very happy. This means I am now done with THF for a very long time, which makes me very happy. It just did not seem like anyone wanted to invite a THF even though I was a good DD simply because I understood HOW to play the job. And knowing is half the battle... GI JOOOOOOOOOOE!!!!!!!! Oh, um... Yeah, but groups just didn't like inviting me so I had to try to make deal and go solo.
I am actually very happy that I am done with THF, not only because I am done with a job I haven't really been having fun with but because I get to open up a bunch of inventory space now. I think starting last night I had about 5 open slots, now after sending a bunch of stuff back to my mule I have about 15 spots and still stuff that needs to be sold. Not to mention the next job on my list will be a very liked job ... PLD! One of the biggest problems with starting a party is finding a tank and since I will be one, and hopefully a well geared one, I shouldn't have any problems at all getting a party.
PLD will be a good change of pace because for one I won't have to carry all that extra gear around and I can start showing how much I'm learning about all of these jobs that I am playing. My goal will be to get all of these jobs at some point to 75 and actually KNOW how to play them and play them all pretty well. PLD is one that kind of worries me because I have to know what I need to do to hold strong hate even over a very good DD. I have been toying around a little on Screamineagle's but it is still hard sometimes because I'm not exactly sure what I should be doing and when and all of that jazz. Learning the ins and outs of the job is what leveling is all about though, so when I hit 50 I believe I will be pretty confident tanking end game since I don't really get anything new besides gear between 50 and 75.
I guess more than anything I am looking forward to having a job that I should be able to get quick parties on and be able to speed through levels again. There is something about the grind of leveling that makes it so rough, but there is something completely different about blitzing through levels. The grind is tough because you really feel like it is a struggle for every party you get and every mob you fight, but when you are blitzing through levels it almost becomes second nature to you and you hardly notice how fast you are going. I dunno, I guess I will just have to wait and see how it goes when I actually gear it up and go.
This weekend is another weekend of visiting my gf because it is a home OSU football game and they are playing Penn State which means a HUGE game. Basically whoever wins this puts themself in contention for the National Championship game. But all that means that I won't be gaming until Sunday and I have a feeling I may be joining Sush's Sky LS on Sunday as well. What time is it....?
TOOL TIME! I mean DUO TIME!
The night started out with some normal RL stuff and then into some Rock Band 2 and then into duoing with my brother. Honestly the duoing felt REALLY slow but with our exp rings on it seemed good since we were doing about 7k/hr. It was probably just that we were fighing mostly IT mobs which was really a pain and just always took a while to kill each mob. Once Khrone hits 31 or so on his DNC I can abuse him for the Desert camp. We did get 2 levels for him on DNC and I eventually got 2 levels on my THF.
Once I burned the rest of my first ring and my second ring we decided to stop for the night. When we finished I was 1600 til 49 so I went out to Gustav Tunnel and was killing some leeches out there. I did die once but that was because I tried out Hide and realized that when pets are involved it doesn't work. The next time I got the huge links I was smart and just Flee'd to get my butt outta there. Once I started to settle into a rhythm I was moving pretty well at about 4k/hr since I'm using junk level 28 Archer's Knives and my only real damage I do is my SA + VB which does hit anywhere from 35-50% of the leech's HP. I decided to just log out out there so I can just log on today and finish my THF to 50 ... finally.
Tonight will be at least THF to 50 since I'm only about 5 or 6k away. After that I will either be going to do something with Khrone or maybe go back out there on DRG to finish that off to 50 so I can work on my AF quest and get rid of the keys I have. Finishing THF and DRG will be nice because it will clear up some well needed inventory space.

Fun with New Friends
I got a good laugh out of this story that I am going to tell but I will talk about it when I get to it in chronological order.
Started off the night by going to play volleyball ... after playing some Rock Band 2 of course. Then after getting online and looking for a party no one was biting on getting a THF so of course I played some more RB2. I actually unlocked a bunch of new venues and songs, but after I played my last 3 song gig I had enough stars to go for my plane! So tonight I will be going for my plane to open up the rest of the world to go around and make some new fans and open LOTS more stuff in the game.
At about 11:30 someone FINALLY invited me to their party. I was pumped, even though I did have to pause a song and screwed up a little because I wanted to make sure I got into the party. Once the party was together we went out to Quicksand Caves and there was a party there so we pulled back a little and tried our luck even though that is really a 1 party camp. At the start I was being nice and letting the other THF pull more mobs because their party was their 1st and I did feel a little bad. A little while later while me and the other THF were waiting for mobs to respawn I made a funny by saying, "I wish these mobs repopped like Colibri." Apparently that's when I set off the other THF because he responded with, "That's why this is a 1 party camp you assholes." Obviously I took offense to being called an asshole, so I did what any other "asshole" would do. I stopped being nice and kept out pulling him on EVERY mob that we tried to pull at the same time. Well if he's going to call me an asshole I might as well act like it right?
What was also amusing is that the THF kept checking me and checking me, I swear he had a macro to check me. Seriously, he checked me about 15 times in about a 15 min span, which was at least 2 times every time he wasn't engaged. Sadly for him he was trying to make fun of my gear which I admit was under par but I was still doing hella damage with my SA's and SATA's which I found a nice medium with since there was no 2nd voker for the PLD. I would SA at the start then SATA the SAM later on because if nothing else he could take a hit or two. Not to mention no one could even come close to what my WSs were doing because my high was about 420 and anyone else's was about 180. So even with my level 28 Archer's Knives I was still doing some awesome damage. That's one of the things that other THF kept trying to make fun of me for, he said "Nice daggers", and I replied with "Thanks, level 28 ftw", and he then responded with, "I was being sarcastic goofy." At that point I wasn't sure if he was trying to be funny or poke fun at me again, but knowing me, I took it as a compliment that I was still better than he was. :D
To top this whole story off, his party left about 2 mobs before mine did and that's when I realized that he was a 75 THF that was level syncing down to level 47. WHAT A RETARD! He was wearing a bunch of high level gear and I don't think he realizes that most of that high level gear doesn't sync down very well, OH WELL. So does that still make me a better THF than him?
Today I have some more RL stuff after work which means I won't be able to get online until about 9 or so tonight. I'm really hoping that I can at least hit 49 on my THF so I can just go to Gustav to solo pets instead of going all the way out to Cape Teriggan. So if I do hit 49 on THF tonight I'm going to stop it there and swap to my DRG and go kill some pets because I need to get my DRG to 50 so I can start popping those coffers and complete some AF.
On a side note, I am hoping Hybrid will be back this weekend because he has had some RL issues with moving and "stuff" but he will be back. Which means I will have my exp buddy back! ... hopefully :D
And while I'm talking about friends ... Disdain get your sorry butt back in game already!!!

Rock Band 2
Last night I had VERY little time to do anything in game because I had so much RL crap to take care of. I got home and mowed my lawn, then went somewhere for a couple hours, then came home and did some QUICK cleaning in my room so my brother, another guy, and myself could sit down and play Rock Band 2.
We ended up unlocking a bunch of stuff on RB2 since they are both pretty good at RB1 so it was pretty easy for them to just pick up some of the newer songs. As for me I was trying to up my skills and struggling with some of the Hard on guitar and vocals, but I barely got to play the drums because my brother and the other guy were a lot better than I was. We opened up a couple new cities and new venues but the thing that was cool that we opened up was the Van we got. Just before we got the Van we also got a manager and were able to hire some people to help promote our band, Blue Balls.
Yes, the name of my band is Blue Balls. There is a little back story to the name but basically we had to come up with a name this weekend while I was at my gf's sister's house and Blue Balls is the name of the drink that my gf came up with that is actually pretty good (Blueberry Vodka, Sprite and Cranberry Juice). So we chose Blue Balls because it was one of the quick names that was spouted out while we were brain storming.
In Rock Band 2 right now I'm just really going for unlocking all the songs. There are still a limited number of songs that I recognize so it is kind of tough for me to really WANT to play all of these songs. Some of the newer songs do sound pretty cool though that I haven't heard before. One of the songs I still haven't played yet that just sounds cool from the preview is the Panic! at the Disco song.
As far as FFXI goes ... I think I'm going to be joining Sush's LS because I have a ton of sky gear I need/want and its about time I found an LS like his that supposedly does 4-7 Kirins a week! He wants to push for 9 Kirins a week but that is pretty rediculous. Plus the weekly payouts would be awesome because I can always use the gil, ALWAYS. I am hoping that joining his LS will be a good change of pace because honestly I'm getting a little bored with just exping alllllll the time. What is also nice about his LS is that its not mandatory. So if I do get the drive to exp again, I can. I think it will be nice to actually have good gear to be looking forward to because I hear that some of the Shura gear is just free dropping now which will definitely be benefitial to me because I don't know exactly how their lotting rules are, like if I have to have a job at a level to actually use the gear. Eh, whatever, I'll just join and see how it goes I guess.

Rock On!
This was a weekend filled with gf distractions. She came into town again and I got some time to myself on Saturday but that was it. Basically I had time to log on, do escort, and craft some food for Beerman. Other than that I got nothing accomplished in game.
As for other game news though, Sush got his W Legs last night ... thus pushing me that much further into the depression of not having that item that I wish I could have more than just about any other item in the game. Don't get me wrong, its not the best piece of gear in the game, but its that piece of gear that I feel I need to truly make my RDM GOOD. Yes, its only movement speed +12% and some other basically worthless stats, but its just that item that I hold near and dear to my heart for some ungodly reason. We all have those items right? What's yours you 3 people that read my blog? (Interactive blog today, isn't that awesome!)
As for Sunday, yeaaaaaaaaaah, I got a new toy, Rockband 2. I have a feeling I'm going to be draining some of my FFXI time into that game which in turn should hopefully bring my spirits back up about FFXI. Just in the first day that I've had the game, I already feel that I'm getting better on the drums and the guitar, but the damn vocals I still suck at because I can't remember words for the life of me. Singing is so hard for me because I don't know HALF of the songs in that game so I'm sitting there humming like a retard. For the guitar and drums its really easy for me to pick up the rhythm and be able to hit the notes ... I know, a white guy with rhythm doesn't sound right does it? I still have some work to do on my comfort level of guitar because hitting that 5th button for hard is well, hard.
Tonight I have a lot of stuff to do around my house because I didn't get ANYTHING done around my house because my gf was in town. I have the lawn to mow, bathroom to clean, my room to clean including doing laundry, and more video games to play! Hopefully the rest of the night I can get some exp in and maaaaaaaaaybe finish off my THF tonight or even just work towards finishing it off because I really want to move on to another job already.

Getting Bored
Last night was kind of uneventful. After volleyball I went and duo'd with Khrone in Altepa again. He got his SAM to 37 and I got my THF to 46. I guess that leaves us with going out to the bird camp in the past to rock out some hard core exp. Hopefully I can snag Swifman and his friends to come out and have some fun with us because he was out there last night with Sinles and Arbil and he got 5 levels on his DRG.
I am kind of at a loss at what else to talk about. I mean there is stuff I'd like to do in game like camp some NMs, join an end game LS, exp more, but my drive is dying out. The only thing really keeping me rolling right now is friends (and my brother) asking me to go do stuff with them. Sush keeps inviting me to his LS, Khrone keeps asking me to help PL him or get avatars or something, and then Swifman asking to go level with him or join his HNM shell. All those things are really what's keepin me chuggin along right now. I don't really have that self drive that I used to, which may be because of the jobs that I'm playing or maybe I'm just burned out from all the exp that I've gotten lately and I need a change of pace. That's probably partially why I have been starting all my AF earlier than I originally planned.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about quitting but I'm just talking about motivation to get stuff accomplished in game. I really want Maat's cap, but its just such a struggle to keep exping EVERY night and at such great lengths. I'd love to actually do some other stuff like assaults or nyzule isle or even limbus. Heck, even just go do some ENMs for gil because you can never have too much gil. Ok, I guess I will just stop there because this therapy session needs to end. haha

I Bring the Pain
Last night Khrone and I did a little duoing out in Eastern Altepa before we went to do some Avatar fights with Arckk. While we were out there I got to show Khrone what kind of damage a real THF can do on those pets. I was starting off just doing SATA on him because Screamin would pull hate pretty easily with me loading him up with enmity gear. I would do about 200 or so damage per SATA which isn't too bad since the pets only have about 400-500 HP. Once I showed him what a SATA + Viper Bite looked like he was quite shocked. After the 320ish damage from that I asked him to do a little parsing. I think we were about 3 mobs into parsing and he said I was doing about 75% of the damage because he couldn't swing fast enough and WS fast enough. What was really funny is that I basically just SATA'd and that was it too. He was the only one doing any real melee damage. On actual mobs he would probably destroy me though. lol
When Arckk got back on we went and killed Shiva and Ifrit which were both pretty easy except for Ifrit's 2hr which actually did 1300+ damage on Screamin to which I was VERY shocked. Granted that was more Arckk's fault because he didn't have Barfira up at that point. Oh well, he only lost like 200 exp and he's only about 400 from recapping exp again anyways.
Its nice doing things with friends again, I like the relaxed atmosphere. Lazy exp with Khrone is nice too because I'm helping him out, but at the same time I'm getting THF to 50 in hopes of my goals. My THF is now 44 by the way, so only 6 more levels before I can be done with THF for a long time. Hopefully I can find some parties that will let my THF be a THF for once.
I know its blasphemous but I am starting to contemplate end game again because I'm seeing all these people that I used to play with in other LSs have all this nice gear and I'm just kinda getting left in the dust in that aspect. I want to have that nice gear to show for all the work that I'm doing too. Its nice to have the versatility that I will eventually have but then again none of my newer jobs to 75 will have any GOOD gear because I haven't spent any time doing end game. I know I shouldn't pick on Khrone, but its so easy because he's my brother, but I look at him and all his talking about wanting to pimp his only 75 job and he's not really doing anything about it. He has a dynamis shell but can't go to most of the events because they are all places that he can't go to since he is still waiting for his Windy clear. But I know that he really should join a sky LS because no matter how long a line is for specific gear there is no way he's going to get it unless he gets in that line. I just don't want to see him waste a lot of time in game like I did the first 2 or 3 years. The other thing is that I could EASILY get him into an LS because I know a few good people out there. Meh, I really am feeling less and less accomplished in game as this is going on. I need to find some way to rekindle my desire to level and get stuff done.
Tonight will hopefully be getting a few more levels on my THF with Khrone on his SAM. Besides that I don't really have anything else to do. Maybe I could go run around and make sure I have all the tuning forks for both myself and Screamin so I don't have to hold people up like I did last night. After that I could try to finish up the rest of my AF weapon fights and quests. So I potentially have a filled evening. Although its very tempting to go run up to sky with Sush's LS...

Hitting a Wall
I don't really know what it is but I don't have that drive to exp like I used to. I knew it was coming but I really hoped I could've hit all jobs to 50 before that happened. Does this mean I am not going to go for Maat's Cap anymore? No. Does this mean I won't be hitting my goals as I hoped? Yes.
This isn't such a bad spot for me to be hitting the perverbial wall because I can go out and do some other stuff like AF quests and coffer hunting. Or I can do avatar fights with Khrone and Arckk like I have been doing and will be doing more of tonight. I do still want to get THF to 50 because then I can at least be skilling up my Marksmanship on coffer mobs and be abusing my own TH2.
The ironic part of doing coffer and AF hunting right now is that the one job that I have 2 keys for is the one that I was going to take slowly to 50 with exp scrolls. This means I will have to find a faster way to get my DRG to 50 than just banking on the scrolls. I could go sit in Gustav Tunnel for an hour or so and get my level and then use the scrolls to start leveling my SMN or WHM or something.
Although with a lot of these AF weapon quests I could go through and DO the quests but not actually get the weapons because they would all be taking up inventory space. But getting these quests out of the way would be a great help. I guess that means I have to lay out a plan so that I can spend the least amount of time actually going around and getting the quests and doing the quests so I won't have to do one and realize that I could've started 3 in the same town.
As it seems right now I only have to do a run to Windy and Sandy to get all of my weapons quests started and then most are just run out, fight, and run back. It really should only take me a night to finish 5 weapons quests, but the 6th will be kind of a pain because I have to wait for a full moon to complete the Ranger one. I guess in my free time after work I will go start my quests and see how many I can finish up real quick.
Tonight will be another night of very little leveling if at all because I have RL stuff again and then I will be doing some more avatar runs with Khrone and Arckk. Hopefully after tonight Arckk will have his Moon Bauble and Khrone will have a coupld whispers towards his Moon Bauble. Once they both have their Baubles we can go knock out Fenrir for them to get the summon and for myself to get the Evoker's Ring. I can't believe I'm about to have the Evoker's Ring and my SMN is only 40. lol Ah well, at least its another thing down the road that I won't have to do.

Holy Friends Batman
I can't believe it! I got a /tell last night on Screamin from Bleemo, one of the old leaders of NitohRyu, and he's back! Not only is Bleemo back, but Xandrah, Aetos, and Klitz are all coming back too! All of these guys were really good players. Xandrah was actually the shell holder of NitohRyu and then the other 3 were all RL friends I believe and the other leaders of the shell.
The only down side of all of this is that only Bleemo and Aetos I guess are actually getting their characters back which means that Klitz and Xandrah are starting anew and haven't yet decided on character names and such yet. I did offer for them to all get a pearl for HacTao, which Xandrah actually remembered the name of, but some of them hadn't even started their characters yet so he said they would hold off on that. Now that I have been thinking about it though, they will probably just go where ever Dragonreborn is because he is another RL friend of theirs that never quit the game. It was just really exciting to see them all again.
As for someone else whom I just found out came back as well was Hayden. He was Screamin's old LS leader for Limbus and I guess they became friends through there. Hehe, its funny that all of these guys were actually friends with Screamin but they all still remember me. Xandrah was actually the one that sent the /tell to Screamin from Bleemo's account since I know they were roommates and then Hayden I knew used to e-mail back and forth Screamin IRL. Its just funny that they sent tells to him literally an hour apart. Wow, that's just really cool that all these people are coming back.
Accomplishments from last night are kind of few and far between because of my damn DVR. I got home at a little after 9 and had to start catching up on the Browns vs. Giants game. Once I caught up it hit about halftime. Instead of waiting for halftime to finish to keep watching the game I decided to catch up on Heroes instead and just let the game continue to get recorded. After I finished watching another good episode of Heroes I started to catch up on the Browns game again ... which they were WINNING! If you have seen any NFL football this season you know that the Browns were on the way down the toilets and the Giants were probably considered the best team in the NFL. I don't know what it was but the Browns finally clicked and DESTROYED the Giants, and yes, destroyed because a 1-3 team beat a 4-0 team by 21 points ... 21 POINTS!
Anyways, after that I tried doing Ramuh with Khrone and we failed miserably the first time, but luckily I timed Ramuh's swings just right and got out alive but no such luck for Khrone and Screamin. After that I decided that doing avatars AT ALL is retarded if you aren't blink tanking because the en-spell damage is rediculous and even for as high as my Enfeebling Magic is I couldn't dispel it. So again I just decided to tell Khrone to tank it on his MNK/NIN and I just sat back with Screamin and myself curing and paralyna-ing. It went pretty smoothly that way except that Khrone really needs to learn to time his shadows better and learn how to cancel his shadows because Ichi will not overwrite Ni, but Ni will overwrite Ichi. I get flustered with all of this little stuff but I have to keep reminding myself that I have been playing for what 4 or 5 years and he has only been actually playing for about 1.
Since we were already in the Tree and I needed a key for my DRG AF we just went back by Aquarius's pop and sat there killing basically everything to get me a key. Once I got my key a JP THF asked if we could help him kill Aquarius which again, was no problem as long as you blink tanked it. Now I'm starting to understand more and more what Screamin always complained about how there is sooooooo much in the game that a NIN can tank but a PLD can't even though when all is said and done a PLD is actually a much better tank. Anyways, the Fransica is an axe I will definitely need once I start leveling RNG again, so I'll definitely be back there. Not to mention that Aquarius dropped over 3k to each person and there were 5 of us there which is a nice chunk of change.
Tonight I don't know what I will do, maybe more THF. I really should start getting rolling on THF to just get it over and done with because I know SMN is gonna be a pain til 50 but hopefully WHM will go pretty easily. Guess that's my very little update for today.

THIEF!!!
After a seemingly very short weekend I came home to leveling THF. No joke, I had my flag up for about 2 seconds and I already had an invite. People apparently are discovering the bird camp in the past and taking full advantage of Level Sync.
The party was WHM, PLD, RNG, RNG, BST, and THF (me) and we did pretty well considering we didn't have a PL. We were still rolling at about 9k/hr with having to go a little slower than I am accustomed to because of waiting for healing magic. It was a good paced but still relaxing party where I could still watch TV while not having to worry about people dying. The only real problem I had with the party was that I couldn't take full advantage of my THF. There was no 1st provoke for me to drop a full SATA so I was doing separated SA and TA attacks but always using WS with my SA for more damage. One time the RNG pulled a lot of hate and the PLD couldn't get it back and I actually got a chance to land a full SATA on him ... no WS ... and it still landed for over 300 damage. Its nice to see the possibility of great damage that I can do with a THF but it was kind of disheartening that I couldn't take advantage of it in the party I was in.
The night was definitely an accomplishment though because I did get 4 levels and got up to 41 on my THF. One of these nights I really should put together my own party and head out there since it really isn't that hard to just grab 1 level 37 person and a party and go rock out in that camp. I honestly could see myself going all the way to the mid 50s on all of my jobs in this camp because it is sooooo easy to exp there and the exp flows so well.
As for goal reaching, I'm not going to even come close to my goal of October 19th for this tier because that's 7 days but I need 38 levels still. That means I need over 5 levels per day to hit that which is VERY unlikely. I did take a few nights off which is really what held me back but I did also get a few coffer keys which makes things easier when I do all my AFs. It has been nice to slow down a bit because the whole reason I was doing this is because I was having fun going at my own pace for everything and pushing myself so hard to keep up with my aggressive goals has been taxing me. So slowing down and enjoying the scenery will do me some good.
On the plus side, I have hit 925 total job levels which is really making me realize I'm getting really close to 1000 levels. That's one hell of a lot of job levels for one character... I have also broken below 200 levels to go til Maat's cap and am now at 196 to go. Doesn't sound like much and I realize that is still quite a lot of exp to get but I'm glad I have broken through another plateau.
Tonight I have some RL stuff again so I guess I will try to exp THF afterwards and maybe try to hit 45 or something if I'm lucky. Maybe tonight I will actually throw to gether my own level 37 party in the past. I could see me grabbing a group of mostly friends and then the 1 random person that is 37 that I can level sync with. haha Not really going to set a goal but I'll just say hope to hit 44 tonight because that will be 3 levels for this evening.

Side tracked
So again, I didn't get any exp in, but I did do some other stuff that took up some time and was semi fun.
I ran out to Ifrit's Cauldron to do Ifrit Prime with Khrone and when we got there I realized Screamin couldn't get in but oh well. While I was waiting for Khrone to get there I got my Cauldron Coffer Key for my DRG AF that I will eventually be getting so that is a plus. Then we went out and did Ifrit, Shiva, and finally Leviathan. For Leviathan Arckk logged on and came and joined us which was fun to have him around again.
After we finished the avatar fights we decided to try our luck on getting Khrone his Carby Mitts. I took him down to get his offering which of course was in the last room possible it to be in. Once we got him the offering Arckk was just waiting for us at the Temple's entrance so he could join us for some fun and excitement. We had some problems pulling a mob through the door to have it open but we got it after about 10 minutes of patience. Once we got up to the room and cleared all the mobs we popped the NM and whooped it. Sadly only the Carby Mitts dropped because I was hoping to snag the Light Elemental Pact that could've dropped.
In all I made some gil for just turning in the whispers on Screamin and myself which is a little cash in my pocket I guess. During these runs I realized that I could be collecting the items for my Evoker's Ring but I'd still need to defeat Fenrir again for the item from there. I'm not really in a huge rush for it but I realize that I will have to be running through these avatars a bunch for Khrone because he wants them all for his SMN that he is leveling.
This weekend I will be going to visit my gf again so that means no FFXI at all until Sunday night. Maybe then I'll decide to throw together an exp party or something. Although I don't know how that would work out since Khrone has my laptop again so I'd be having to break my neck to be looking back and forth from my TV to my monitor again. He better order his laptop today so he doesn't have to borrow mine anymore and I can actually take it out of town with me when I go. Guess that's it for this post, kinda short but not much besides that little stuff.

In all I made some gil for just turning in the whispers on Screamin and myself which is a little cash in my pocket I guess. During these runs I realized that I could be collecting the items for my Evoker's Ring but I'd still need to defeat Fenrir again for the item from there. I'm not really in a huge rush for it but I realize that I will have to be running through these avatars a bunch for Khrone because he wants them all for his SMN that he is leveling.
This weekend I will be going to visit my gf again so that means no FFXI at all until Sunday night. Maybe then I'll decide to throw together an exp party or something. Although I don't know how that would work out since Khrone has my laptop again so I'd be having to break my neck to be looking back and forth from my TV to my monitor again. He better order his laptop today so he doesn't have to borrow mine anymore and I can actually take it out of town with me when I go. Guess that's it for this post, kinda short but not much besides that little stuff.

Unmotivated
Lately my craving for the grind of exp has been tailing off. This is really bad for me trying to hit my goal of end of the year for Maat's Cap because unless I stay hardcore for the next 2 months I have no chance. At the same time I knew this day was coming because there is no way I could keep up that sort of grind for that long.
Last night I really got nothing accomplished in game on my character. I really only geared up my THF and then sat around looking for a party. While I was looking for the party I was messing around with Screamineagle's 73BST. I was doing decently well on it but there is still some getting used to the macros that Screamin set up. Some of the macros just aren't as intuitive to me as I would hope. For instance, he has seperate macros for equiping his charm gear and his CHR gear and another macro for actually charming. To me, I think those should be consolidated into 1 or 2 macros at the most. CHR is used for Charm accuracy and so is the light staff which makes me think that they should be one in the same macro if possible, but also when he has such a simple Charm macro like he does I don't see why he couldn't at least combine 2 of them. I may have to do some rewriting of some of his macros but for the most part I think his macros are pretty good becuase he has the regular pet macros like fight, stay, etc. He also has macros for equiping his attack gear for himself like his Hauby or his attack rings and earrings. Those are macros I will definitely need when I get to that point on my BST.
For the most part I am just trying to get a feel for how beastmaster works again and more of how it works at higher levels. I have already discovered that I'm picking it up pretty quickly and I even had a few good moves, like when I discovered that one of my pet's moves was an AoE move and got aggro from another mob I just uncharmed my mob then recharmed it and went back on my way to killing. It was good to see that it was almost instinct for me to do that because it shows that I could probably jump back into BST pretty quickly since it is definitely a different kind of job to level.
I suppose I won't even set any sort of goal for this evening because I don't really feel that I have that strong urge to go exp. Maybe now would be a good time to go back and get some of the AF I should be working on. Or another option is to finish Screamin's BST to 74 so I can get his AF+1 legs completed and then redo his AF legs and get my AF legs while I'm at it. This is all stuff I will need to do anyways so I guess I might as well start doing it now while I'm not really in the mood for exp.

200 levels to go!!! I didn't realize until this morning but I guess me hitting 49 on DRG last night but me right at 200 to go til Maat's Cap. Wooooooo hooooooooooooo!
Last night was another night filled with RL stuff. Got my hair cut right after work and it was a total disaster! The guy obviously in his "20 years of experience" hasn't learned how to cut my hair correctly. I am probably going to have to get it retrimmed because he buzzed the front of my hair and left the top long. At first glance at the barber shop it looked good but when I got home I realized how TERRIBLE it really was. I mean the front part of my hair is maybe 1/3 of an inch long and the hair ontop of my head is about an inch long .... WHO DOES THAT?! Anyways, after that I had to go buy a tuxedo which was actually pretty inexpensive. Then I had enough time after that to run home and grab some toast and test out my knee at volleyball. I only played the last of the 3 games but my knee was feeling pretty good at that point. This morning it isn't feeling tip top shape so I'm thinking the only 1 night a week thing is probably best ... well 1 night a week at most.
Once I finished all of that I got home and watched the rest of the Presidential Debate and then hoped on to get my 2 levels on DRG. I have finally figured out how to spawn the raptor somewhere else ... just keep killing it until it spawns somewhere else. lol But once the raptor was gone I got my DRG rolling through the exp, or at least rolling for as much as I was paying attention. I always seem to get distracted now-a-days and my exp starts to tail off. When I started I was doing about 9k/hr with my ring and at one point I dropped to as low as 3.5k/hr without my ring. Of the whole time I was out there I was probably averaging about 6k/hr, which is still pretty good solo.
I'm definitely looking forward to 51 and the uncapping of exp. It is going to be great to be able to break through that 300 exp at chain 5 cap and see like 500 exp chain 5s ... if I can do it. AU parties I think will roll really well because its like the level 37 Colibri camp without an exp cap. This is just bringing me closer and closer to my goal and I'm getting excited about it.
The only problem I see is that when I actually get my jobs high enough to do end game and get gear for them I won't have any points or anything to actually get gear. Like I said in yesterday's post I am thinking about joining Sush's Sky LS just to start to gain some points and see if I can snag any gear I can from them. The only problem with that is if they fold before I get what I want ... like every other LS I've been in. I have actually also considered joining Swifman's HNM LS to see if I can use my almost complete Kirin pop set there to get myself W Legs ... which would be AMAZING. I don't know how I feel about camping HNMs and stuff though. The only bonus I can see to that is that while camping I can play my PS3 more or my Wii more and actually get more use out of those systems.
For basically the past week I have just been saying no to do stuff with Swifman and I feel bad because of it since he's almost always looking for something to do, even if its just exping his DRK. And since I told him I couldn't do Nyzul Isle with him again last night I decided that tonight when he gets on I'll try to put together a party and go to my favorite level 37 camp. My only problem I can see is that I would really like to have a DNC in the party because I know that Screamin's MP is going to run out pretty quickly so having that extra healing power to back me up could help a lot. I realize that that is one less big DD to have but it is still an attacker with healing skills. I'd rather have lower exp/hr that people dying because I have 0 MP to cure them with. The added bonus of being in the past is that I can give Screamin the extra Sigil refresh which should help a lot.
As for this evening, well, if all goes according to plan my THF will go from 37 to 41 pretty swiftly. If that goes according to plan maybe I can snag another level 37 person to fly through some more exp. I would've liked to have had THF done already because I highly doubt I'm going to hit my goal of all jobs to 50 by Oct 19th. Maybe I will rearrange my goal a little and say all jobs and at least most AF done by end of October. That sounds like a more reasonable goal for where I currently am. My biggest problem spot for AF is going to be Garbage Citadel since you technically need 4 people to basically keep running around through there to get keys and pop coffers. There is the trick where you can go to the past and then run to the one part where coffers are but there are only about 3 of the 7 coffer spots behind that door, but I guess its better than nothing right?

Busy...
RL is killin me! I wasn't able to get online until about 11:30 last night because I just had so much to do in RL and I have a ton more to do today. I still need to go grocery shopping and go find a tuxedo today and then wake up early tomorrow to take my car in to get maintenanced. Besides that I may be able to sneak in some decent leveling later tonight and hopefully hitting 50 tonight on DRG, but I'm not holding my breath.
Last night I did pretty well in my little solo spot in Cape Teriggan. At one point I was holding at about 16k/hr with my ring on. Then of course it tailed off and I kept getting sidetracked watching whatever was on TV so my productivity dwindled down to about 6 or 7k/hr. It was a relaxing pace and no pressure pushing me towards it which was fantastic. I really like how I have these goals to hit but since they are my goals and I'm not sharing them with an LS where I have to be somewhere at a certain time and I can change my goals whenever I want its very care free.
Tonight after I finish all of my RL stuff I would like to hit 50 on DRG but that will all depend on how lucky I am I guess. I will probably just stay in Teriggan for another level with my flag up and hopefully snag a party to help me move along to 50. There is always the possibilty of me setting up my own party but I just haven't had that drive to do it lately. As long as I can keep some progress going whenever I can I will be happy.
I have also been debating more and more joining an end game LS that I can come and go as I want to just start building up some points for when I actually get jobs that can use some of the gear like the 3 Shura pieces I would like from Sky (body, head, and legs), B Haidate, W legs, Kirin's Osode, and other random junk that would be really nice to have from Sky. The biggest problem is that I know it would cut severely into my exp time and I'm not really a fan of that. I have also thought about asking Sush if I could just be a purely part timer, like if I get bored of exp for a night I could run up there and go farm and kill gods with them or something. In my mind that sounds good and they could always use me on whatever job like BRD, BLM, RDM, or WAR ... or I could even go up on Screamin and tank for them if necessary. But this is all just possibility stuff that has crossed my mind and such. This still isn't set in stone but I may ask him about it some time.
I don't really have much else to say so I'll just leave it at hopefully 50 on DRG tonight, but doubtful. Besides that just getting my RL stuff done to get back to finishing DRG.

I come bearing more bad news, its seems as though Hybridkiller is now also retiring from the game. He is moving out to the middle of no where to move in with his girl friend. As he plays on his PS2 he will probably have problems getting internet to a room he needs it and a TV to play on. The worst part of all of this is he is talking about selling off his characters which honestly I think is a terrible idea because there is always the possibility of him wanting to come back down the road. But that's his call and sadly not mine. He said he would sell them to me if I wanted them but I've vowed never to buy an account because where is the sense of accomplishment there? I accepted Screamineagle because it was given to me by an RL friend but that is the extent of me "buying" an account is paying for a second.
Moving away from the sad stuff ... I did my escort quest on Saturday and used it on my MNK which is now 50, YAY. This weekend was also devoted to at least finishing my DRK and starting my DRG which was also accomplished. My DRK is now 50 and my DRG is now 45.
I just have not been having luck with my pet camp out in Cape Terrigan until later last night. Finally the raptor didn't respawn and then I could just run back and forth between the 2 goblins swiping pets and rocking out some good exp again. It is nice seeing about 6 or 7k solo (with a PL of course) without much trouble. What is also great is watching the damage you can do to a pet.
So I have been using my parser again and I have noticed a few things about DRK and DRG. One is either I know how to play them really well or people don't know how to play their DD jobs well. Also, DRK and DRG are some massive DDs and the DRG's wyvern is SOOOOO underrated. In the time that I was parsing with my DRK I was only outdone once and that was on bats where I couldn't land any of my Absorbs or Drain or Aspir for diddly which actually does take away from a DRK. I was outdone by that MNK by about 2 or 3% in the end which doesn't sound like much but over time it adds up.
Then on DRG, WOW, people underestimate the damage that the wyvern can do. I was in a party out in Western Alepa Desert with an amazing party: NIN, DNC, SCH, DRK, DRG (me), and BRD. This party was occasionally hitting chain 6s and we weren't being PL'd, now THATS a party. I also parsed this party and noticed that alone my DRG was doing about 36% of the overall damage, which isn't too bad since the DRK was only doing about 25%. Then I realized, hey, there's Firewing's damage too..... /jawdrops If I remember correctly, the NIN was doing about 18% and the DNC was doing about 12% and Firewing was doing about 12%... yes, my wyvern was doing about the same amount of damage as the DNC and not too much less than the NIN.... WOW! So if you add in myself with my wyvern, I was doing about 50% of the damage in that party! DRGs fuggin ROCK! Its not even like I was super decked out or had uber gear, its just that my damage output so great. I know I've said it before but all you people who still think DRG can't be a good DD, YOU'RE RETARDED!
Moving backwards a little again to DRK. I was actually surprised at the damage I was putting out on DRK when my Scythe was almost never capped and my weapon skill was basically just an extra swing and didn't do any great damage, which is another reason why that MNK bested me in damage, he had Raging Fists and I had Nightmare Scythe. I'm kind of excited to see what DRK can do with an actually decent weapon skill like possibly Vorpal Scythe or definitely Guillotine. I think I did decide that in order to just keep my weapons up to scratch though I will go with GS for my next weapon as it seems a lot better than any other weapon at 50 and it should basically be a free item for me as its just an Allied Notes weapon from Windy.
As for RL, I saw a different physical therapist today since my regular one is out of town this week and he gave me some new tips on what I should be doing to hasten my return to athletics. He is actually more of a sports therapist which is actually right up my alley since that is EXACTLY what I need my leg for. He told me about using one of those thin straps for tendons as it helps relieve the strain on it and he told me to specifically ice under my knee cap. This is because the actual inflamation that I have is under my knee cap so when I ice it I should use an ice cube for 2 minutes while pushing on the top of my knee cap to raise it to more directly apply the cold. Outside of that I need to just constantly stretch basically. I'm pumped because this is giving me hope that I could be back to volleyball within a month. :D
Goal for tonight: As I don't really feel the push anymore and I have some RL stuff to do I will just say DRG to 47 or maaaaaybe 48 depending on how lucky I am with my solo camp.

Ara will be missed. One thing I ask is never delete your character, just cancel it. Because there is always the chance that you will get bored with life and wish to come back again. That being said, I wish you the best of luck in life and LotR.
Well, knowing that Ara is gone now kinda blows the idea that I had yesterday at lunch of having a bunch of friends go through my happy camp and just exp for hours and just have fun with it. Oh well, it was a good idea. lol I mean I guess I could grab random people to go there and exp with me but it wouldn't be as fun so I guess I will just have to make some more friends then eh?
As far as last night goes... I actually got 4 levels on my DRK. For one, I thought I only got like 2 levels but then when I realized where I started last night I figured out I did a lot better than I expected. I was so busy not really paying attention to the game I kept leveling and not really noticed because I watched USF fall to Pitt in college football last night. It was quite refreshing to have an "average" party for once that I didn't really have to pay attention to and just kind of cruise through it. I honestly was happy getting anywhere from 5k-7k/hr and just relaxing through it all.
The party wasn't terrible or anything but I think we could've done better at a different camp because the beetles in Western Alepa just weren't cutting it for us. It was kind of sad because I was barely trying and I was dominating in damage over the 2 MNKs. Granted I was actually using sushi over the meat that the one MNK was using which I think at that point sushi was a lot better since it was a whiff fest without Madrigal. Now I can slide right into bitching about people not knowing how to do their jobs.
Yup, retards galore again, but I wasn't really bothered by any of it except one part. The one MNK kept provoking at the start of the fight. Why the hell would a MNK provoke at the start of a fight? It boggles my mind since the PLD tanking would be the one voking. I really wanted to slap the japanese MNK that was doing it because he obviously just liked getting hit or something. Other than that we had a BRD that just didn't understand how to be a good BRD or something. He would cast songs on us and would understand about trying to give the PLD and myself ballad to keep our MP up which was good. The problem came in on knowing when to pull and how to pull. Occasionally we would have no songs at all AND THEN he would run away to pull. Why would a BRD run away from a group when they have no songs when the whole point of a BRD is to give the songs to the party? Then the BRD just was pulling way too slow at first. He would actually wait til the mob died then take about a minute to just run out and find another mob. Eventually he started to understand to pull before the mob actually died, but here's the thing, he started pulling when the current mob was at 70% health still. Why on God's green Earth would you pull a second mob at 70% when it was taking us a while to kill it? Not to mention he would run to pull the next mob when we were sitting there without songs occasionally. Some things just baffle me, especially the simple problems like our party was having, a provoking MNK and a BRD that doesn't know how to keep songs on you.
I am happy that I got 4 levels on my DRK though. The only problem I have now is that I am going to need to start skilling up my GS and Scythe. I was talking with Swifman and he was saying the same thing about his mid-50s DRK. His skills are starting to fall behind because he keeps level syncing down which is great to get a party, but in the long run you will have to spend that extra time skilling up your weapons again. In my case its no real problem because all I would have to do is take Screamin out with me and go whack away on some Robber Crabs and catch up pretty quickly. I could even skill most of my weapons on my WAR which is fantastic so I could actually get ahead of the curve if I really wanted. I think having WAR at 75 already will really help my weapon skill levels greatly in the long run of Maat's Cap.
As for tonight and this weekend my gf is still trying to decide whether she is coming home or not so depending on her will decide how much free time I have. If she doesn't come home I should have DRK and DRG done some time on Sunday, but if she does I will still probably be working on DRK on Sunday. I know I shouldn't say it, but deep down inside I hope she doesn't come home.
I'd post a goal for this weekend but I don't know how much free time I will have so I will just leave it open for as much progress as I can get in.

Different Progress
After I finished most of what I needed to do IRL last night I logged on and was planning on leveling my DRK. Well, plans changed as I was heading back to Jeuno.
First, I got stopped by Arckk because he wanted me to craft him some Mushroom Stews on Screamin which I had no problem with and did quickly. Second, I got side tracked helping Drivvt with getting some Kindred Seals that he needed for his Genkai 4 quest to raise his level cap to 70. I figured I needed to get a coffer key from a ton of places anyways so I might as well go help him get his KS while I'm abusing his TH2 tee hee. Beerman was standing in Jeuno just as I was heading out and he was really bored so I asked him if he wanted to join us for a little mob mashing and he was reluctant but came anyways, and I'm 100% positive he's glad he came.
So we get to CN and on the way to our camp (I always go down the N tunnel because no one ever camps back there except for key farming or skilling up) Beerman asks about Tiphia because she pops down there. I say she because her name is Demonic Tiphia, anything demonic has to be female ... right? Anyways, I tell him that she pops right around the corner from where we are camping so after we clear the room we can go try to pop her. After clearing the room twice, getting my coffer key, and getting 2 KS we finally got Tiphia to pop. I just about peed my pants because I was not expecting her to pop.
We're sitting there whacking her for about 3 minutes with no progress because of her like 2k Pollens. Then I tell Beerman, who is on SAM, to SC with Screamin to help boost our damage. Once we finally settled into doing a SC we started cruising again ... until 50%. Right at 50%, and I mean RIGHT AT 50%, she started trying to spam Cure V. That was something I just wasn't going to have so I just silenced her and we continued. At no point during this fight was I ever worried because I knew all we had to do was outlast her. I never ran low on MP on my RDM and Screamin only hit yellow a few times. So we did one more SC at about 25% and dropped her to about 15% or so I think and then she whipped around and targeted Beerman and did a Final Sting on him. That was probably the funniest part of it all because he got nailed with an almost 1300 Final Sting and him only being level 66 I believe died and actually deleveled too. He got what was coming to him though, because he came for shits and giggles and ended up with a Tiphia Sting.
After Tiphia we only had to clear the room one more time before getting the KS. Even though Drivvt's TH2 seemed to be not working, it worked when it mattered on Tiphia to make her 100k sting to drop. Beerman said he thinks he has another one of her stings lodged in his chest somewhere now too. lol
After that I decided to just call it a night since it was already like 1AM and all of us needed to go to bed. It was a fun night though. I have to admit for coffer key hunting and KS farming it ended up being pretty nice to just lay back and relax and get a little meriting in again while getting something other than just straight exp on a lower level job. Now that I am thinking about it, I think the week or two of coffer and AF hunting I'll be doing when I get to it will be a nice break before I get to my final Tier of leveling to 66 on all of my jobs.
Something else I think I decided is that I will level WHM last to 50 and then first to 66 because at 50 I don't get anything for WHM, but at 66 I will have Raise 2. So 50 is no biggie, but 66 is actually nice to have if some of my friends need an R2 somewhere to help save them some exp.
As for tonight and this weekend, I found out that my gf is thinking about coming home this weekend because she apparently can't live a week without seeing me. When I didn't sound so excited to see her I think she got pretty bummed out and may not come home now. So gaming this weekend will kind of be up in the air so I guess I will just have to make tonight count.
Goal for this evening: DRK to 41, yes its a low goal but I'm thinking if I relax tonight I can go all out this weekend ... hopefully.

Lazy night
Last night was a very lazy night. I barely did anything in game or IRL for that matter. After work I decided to go watch my team play volleyball since I still can't play. It was quite painful to watch them get smacked around and me not to be able to do anything. Then one of my friends I've known basically my entire life and some other people I know were playing in the next game so I stayed to watch that too. Its pretty different standing back and watching instead of being in there and playing.
Once those games finished I went home and finally logged on and just kind of sat in Jeuno waiting for an invite because I wasn't really interested in throwing together my own party so I took what I could get. I had to level sync down to 33 which wasn't all that bad because I was only 38 when I started but the PLD was talking about how he really should've never level sync'd below 40 because he loses so much as far as armor and job abilities, which I kind of agreed with him on. I did get a level out of the party which really wasn't that great because the BRD wasn't pulling when by all means he should have been and the DNC was pulling way too slowly and didn't understand where mobs would be and to disengage before the end of the fight to go pull. Whatever, I had some fun doing about 46% of the final damage of the party and being able to use my abilities and such.
I have to kind of relearn how to play DRK because I never really learned how to before. I think in just that party last night I really learned a lot about Souleater and Last Resort and Drain and balancing hate. By all means I could've been tanking so easily over the PLD but that would've just been dumb. Learning when to use a job ability and how to use it is way more important than just having uber gear. I've been learning that more and more as I progress through all of these jobs.
Tonight will be another laid back day becuase I have a bunch of stuff I need to do IRL until about 9PM. After that I will try leveling my DRK again and if nothing else I will just go try to actually put a party together for level syncing at my new fav spot. Hopefully Ara or Beerman or Khrone or Drivvt will want to come with me and have some fun leveling.
Since my goal for last night wasn't even close to being met I will stick with a much easier goal: DRK hitting 41 tonight. This is meaning I will be putting myself further behind my goal but I've also found that just blitzing through these levels isn't as fun as actually accepting some of these crappier parties because it makes you more appreciative of the good ones.
