Working PC

So somehow someway my desktop started working again. I didn't do anything to it except smacking it on the top of the case. Since I gave it a hard crack on the top I have not had it restart or crash on me. Go figure that showing a little tough love is what straightened it out.

Sadly this also means that all my time spent looking for a new PC is all for nothing now. I had a pretty slick computer laid out too. At least I know what to look for when I do make a new computer in about 6 months though. There is a new desktop in my future though because FFXIV comes out in the middle to end of next year so I will need an upgraded PC to be able to cope with the enhanced graphics. Not to mention I would love to have a new toy to play with.

One thing I must admit is that I have been getting a good amount of use out of my laptop lately. I have a new appreciation for it because it is really convenient to be able to spin around in my chair, put my feet, watch TV, and still be able to game. My laptop also isn't as laggy as it used to be for some strange reason. I always had to dumb down the effects and characters displayed because it would lag, but now it seems to be doing just fine.

Something else I will have to try out is the new windower. My version for my laptop (which is running Vista) is really old because there were compatibility issues. It seems they have fixed those issues because Khrone is now running it on his laptop and he said it works like a champ. After I update that I may have to go and put in spellcast for my BLM macros to make my casting a little bit easier. It would be nice if it could automatically parse what my ACC is and know to switch to more ACC based gear or more ATT based gear. That is getting quite technical and it does do that to a certain extent, but hey, I'm just saying.

PC Problems

I haven't been able to game much lately because I've been having some issues with my computer. It likes to just restart at will now instead of just when Micro$oft makes it.

Since my computer has gone down I've been playing a lot of Modern Warfare 2 which has been a lot of fun. I do like how you can rank up and unlock new weapons and attachments and you have actual things to accomplish in the game. It makes it feel like I'm actually leveling up and gaining new abilities and spells like in FFXI. As much fun as MW2 is I have to admit its starting to become a little repetitive and I'm starting to miss FFXI a little. This is a good thing though because I think I was getting a little burned out with FFXI and needed a short break to reignite the spark.

Hopefully I will have some time to get my computer back up and running soon though because I will definitely want to get back to FFXI soon.

Limbus

Still not much going on in game since I've joined HNM since I honestly don't have much time to do anything besides log on for Einherjar and Dynamis and then the occasional HNM camp. The only difference now is that I joined a limbus shell too.

This limbus group seems really good as they have enough people to do 3 zones at once. Its great because that means faster turn arounds on doing Omegas and Ultimas. The only problem with that is that that also means that many more people ahead of me for items. As of right now I believe I would be 11th in line for Nashira Seraweels which isn't so great. Hopefully people will be blowing points on other pieces of gear and as of right now I have no use for Homam I don't have to waste points on it.

The big problem with this all is that that also means I have to spend more time gaming which I just don't have the time to do because my gf dictates my life right now. I'll be lucky to make a run or einherjar, dynamis, and limbus a week. I'm just going to stop there before I turn this into a complaining post.

Anyways, limbus is fun because I'm actually doing it with people I know like Cbassx, Sush, Ratman, Awnee and Fadee. Like last night I was chatting with Sush the whole time while he was in another zone. Then I was ripping on Cbassx because we were in the same run and we were both BLM. What was fun was that I got bombed by an avatar's astral flow and I blaimed it on Cbassx when I guess it was the other BLM that ran at me to get me blown up ... thanks dude! But was still fun, and fun is all I'm really looking for in this game now.

I've come to the realization that I'm not really doing HNM for the uber gear and the possibility of millions of gil, I do it for fun. There is no way I will have the time to dedicate to HNM to probably even get off of trial let alone really compete for a piece of gear. I am more doing this for the new experience and the titles and the new friends and the possibility of new gear. To be honest I don't mind camping HNM right now because I have other games that I play to waste that time between windows. Its funny because I actually don't like the ones where I have to actively search for the HNM like Dark Ixion or Sandworm because that means I can't dual game.

I also already know what I'm going to spend my time doing once I get sick of those other games, craft or fish. Since I know I'll be camping on my main I might as well try to skill up Screamin's fishing and make some gil. Or maybe go farm for crafting items to skill up my crafting on Treu. Either way, I'll have something to do while I'm camping HNMs.

Not Much

Not much has been going on in game since I got Maat's Cap and joined DaFunk. It has basically consisted of me camping HNMs and attempting to level my Leathercraft.

The HNM part has been pretty cool. I guess I could start a tally of how many of each HNM I've killed so far. It would at least give me something to update in my blog.

As far as crafting going I've gotten about 5 levels on my Leathercraft since the last time I updated this. It is pretty terrible now because I have to go through farming Dhalmels for hides to craft and it is quite annoying. I wish they could be like other mobs that pop in a very small moving location and popped very quickly. As they do not and supposedly the best place to farm them is Bubu, I have to walk around the whole friggin map farming these guys that can walk around a quarter of the map. If only they were like goblins in Gustav Tunnel where they can only walk around in a 10 x 10 area and the respawns about 10 minutes. Well, these are a respawn of about 10 minutes but they walk around in about a 100 x 100 area and no more than about 5 pop in any one location. That means I get to run alllllllll around the map to get these mofos and hope they drop a hide. Probably the worst part of this all is that they drop other stuff that is just total junk and likes to take up inventory space very quickly.

Other than that little bit I've been trying to get whatever else done in game that I can but nothing has really been working out for me. The only thing that is about to pay off with what I'm doing is that I'm 1 decent guild item away from getting my Bonecrafting apron. That will definitely be a bonus because that puts me at 76+2 which is only 2 levels from cap for RR hairpins which means I won't have to worry about breaking nearly as much. 1 level can really make a difference in breaking synths.

Anyways, in my spare time camping I've still been doing some reading since I've technically beaten Uncharted 2 already. I want to try to finish up the Twilight series before I go back and play through the harder levels of Uncharted 2. That way I won't be as distracted while doing one of the other.

Hopefully I can get more stuff done in game in the next week or so so I actually have something to update. Maybe some more HNM kills or more meriting or something.

Uncharted 2

HNM is cool, my first day with a pearl I got to do Einherjar and kill Khimiara. I've now seen Cerberus die and camped some other NMs as well. But seeing as most windows still aren't in my wheel house of time I haven't gotten to even see a Fafnir or a Behemoth or an Ixion or even a Sandworm, although I have camped for 3 or those 4 just never seen them pop.

In my extra time I have been taking up other things like reading. But the thing that I have been draining basically all of my extra free time and even a lot of FFXI time into is Uncharted 2. Fun game, great graphics, and good story line. As much as I like the game play and I honestly do like the story line and am actually interested in what is going to happen next. For instance, will Drake end the game with a threesome of the 2 hotties in the game? I really want to know! Not to mention some of the offhand remarks that are said in the game are pretty funny including the swearing. I know, I'm surprised they aren't bleeping that $&*# out too.

Game play and graphics have been really good. I'm very surprised at how good the actual game play graphics are compared to the cut scene graphics. To me there is very little difference in the graphics of them and sometimes I don't even know if I'm in a cut scene or if I'm actually supposed to be still interacting with what is going on. With how good the single player action is in this game on Normal difficulty, I'm curious as to how hard it gets on the higher settings and with the co-op play.

Co-op play is actually what got me interested in the game in the first place because Disdain and the original Screamineagle were going to get the game and ironically enough the game has a 3 player co-op. I have been playing the game seeing where co-op could come in but it seems that most of the time I am either flying solo or with one other person. There haven't been too many scenarios where I am running and gunning with 2 companions but I guess there are places where they could throw the extra person in but just make it slightly harder on you by excluding that extra person.

This game is something that I have really been having fun with and really have a hard time pulling myself away from, which includes losing sleep because I'm up playing until 2AM. One of my favorite games to ever play with friends was Halo. This game has all the same ideas as Halo and keeps me hooked in the same way as Halo, including the losing sleep part. The big difference in game play is the stealth killing that I just don't seem to be that great at. I can pop moving enemies in the head with ease while dodging fire from the front, but when it comes to sneaking up on a group of 4 or more and picking them off quietly one by one I'm not so great. Occasionally they'll give me freebies where the put you in the perfect spot to take a guy out, but then I have a hard time finding the quiet way to get to the next guy and taking him down without the next guy seeing me and calling in 15 other guys. I'm getting better but its something that I have room for improvement on. Just like my awareness because without a radar like in Halo I feel blind because I don't know where a guy is behind me without me having to slowly spin my vision around.

Enough about that though. In the FFXI front I have been doing some Leathercrafting and selling some more BC products to make some gil. Sadly I'm not making the progress I would like because I can't muster enough straight gaming time together because if I'm not doing an event or camping an HNM, I'm probably sitting at my desk playing Uncharted 2 right now. Hopefully I don't sink too much more time into Uncharted 2 because I feel like I'm getting close to the end. I won't say why or where I am because if anyone does decide to play the game I don't want to ruin the story line for you.

Update:
Beat Uncharted 2 last night on Normal, very fun game. I'm thinking about buying Uncharted 1 now too.

Maat's Cap

BOOM BABY!!! Maat's Cap of blue loserhood is mine! It was a long drawn out journey but in the end was a fun run.

RNG was the last fight I had to do and it took me 2 tries because I screwed up the first time, but learned from my screw up. The first fight went: Velocity Shot > Slug Shot > Shadowbind > Barrage > Sharpshot > shoot > Slug Shot > shoot > I Wing > die. Bold is what I think I did wrong, go figure that die is bold right? Now a few realizations I made, Sharpshot lasts a minute so basically I shouldn't waste time using it during the fight as it will only last about 30-45 seconds. Also, I realized that I used Shadowbind in the wrong spot and I took an extra shot in there that I really shouldn't have.

After planning a little more out, my second fight went more like this (although maybe not exactly as I have to check my log to be 100%): Velocity Shot > Sharpshot > Slug Shot > Barrage > shoot > Shadowbind > Vile Elixir > shoot again (because I didn't have 100% TP) > Slug Shot > EES. I ended up not even using an Icarus Wing which saved me 10k in that fight which I am happy about.

Once I got out of the fight I put on my Ducal Something Ring and warped to Jeuno and strode back to Maat and obtained my Maat's Cap at approximately 8:55PM on October 4th, 2009. GO ME!!!! I took screen shots of everything Maat said just so I can have it saved for later, but I will be cutting out the "Obtained: Maat's Cap" and putting that in my sigs from now on. Sadly this brings to an end a very long term goal that I have been working towards for over a year now. Now that Maat's Cap is over and done with I think I need to find myself a new long term goal.

After speaking with the few people that were still wearing a HellsBells pearl last night I think I will be aiming to get SCH up some and maybe finishing off another job or 2 to 75. I can also spend more time concentrating on my crafting as that has been pretty stagnant for a long time. I would at least like to get my Bonecraft to 80, get my BC apron, and start actually skilling up my leathercraft as that is the main sub-craft for BC. Glad I still have PLENTY to do in game. lol

Now for the perfect timing of me finishing Maat's Cap, I was also accepted into DaFunk. This will fill up my time with actually having events for me to attend. Sadly these events will be sporadic because HNM times will be constantly changing, but this will give me access to getting the higher end gear that I really want like Dalmatica or Ace's Helm. Let us see where this journey will take me.

How Did I Win?

Ok, so I beat Maat on THF yesterday, and I have absolutely no clue how. I will have to go through and total up the numbers and all but I really have no clue how I beat him. By the shear fact that I don't think I did nearly as much damage as my other runs, I'm down right stupefied. The only thing that changed from the last fight was the Emperor's Hairpin and Leaping Boots that I borrowed from Disdain.

Let us start out with the numbers I do remember off the top of my head:
- I evaded 7 of Maat's attacks
- Blink absorbed 3 of Maat's attacks
- I Perfect Dodged 7 of Maat's attacks
- Maat gave up when I dropped him below 20%
- I DID NOT HAVE AN ICARUS WING
- I used a Vile Elixir +1
- I used an exp scroll to level up
So, those are the glaring facts of the fight that I currently have. I did also have a Vile Elixir ready for use just in case. Actually as Maat gave up I was hitting my macro to use it because I only had about 530 HP when he gave up which is AT MOST 3 hits.

The fight: 100 TP, Blink Band, Sole Sushi +1, Sneak Attack, hit for 200+, melee, hang up phone, Evisceration for about 250, hit my I Wing macro, realize I didn't have an I Wing, search satchel for I Wing, ....no I Wing, swear a lot in tells to Disdain while still meleeing, Maat PD's, I Flee to entrance, wait for him to catch up to me, flee to the back of the zone, use exp scroll, melee, Dancing Edge, Vile Elixir +1, use PD, melee and pray for my life, Maat gives up while I am hitting my Vile Elixir macro.

I know that may not be the most readable summary but until I post my screenshots that'll have to do.

The ONLY thing that I can think of is that maybe his evasion wasn't nearly as high so I was landing more melee hits because that was the first time I was able to get to 100 TP without using sleeping pots or an I Wing. By all that I can think of though is that he still should've whooped me because other fights I did a skill chain and still only got him to 28%. I'm really looking forward to going home and running the numbers for these fights.

There is one hypothesis I do have for all of these fights: Maat gets easier the more times you fight him. Again, there is no proof, nor have I fought him more than the necessary times. The only thing that makes me think this is that the more times I have fought him on all of my jobs I have always gotten him further down in health and he has done things that wouldn't do as much damage to me. For example, the first time I lost to him on DRK, he drained me for 300+ HP to finish me off, but never used it in any of my other fights. Maybe I'm totally off my rocker, but its just a thought.

T-minus 5 levels and 1 fight to go! :D

How Did I Lose?

First off I tried 2 Maat fights this weekend, one went well and the other, lets just say I don't see how someone could win this fight if I didn't.

DRK fight went well. I went in prepped and ready to rock his face. The fight only lasted about 20 seconds because I went in fully buffed, Drain 2 > Guillotine > I Wing > Vile Elixir +1 > Guillotine > Blood Weapon > 2 hits > done. Using the Vile Elixir +1 REALLY helped out because it basically doubled the damage of my 2nd Guillotine. The reason my 2 Guillotines didn't kill him right off the bat was that one of the swings of my first Guillotine missed because instead of doing almost 1300 damage like I was before I only did about 1000. That was ok though because I was prepared with extra meds to make sure I won that fight.

Now what REALLY angered me was my THF fight. I figured it would be a breeze, but boy was I wrong. Here's how the fight went SA > hit > Dancing Edge > I Wing > Dancing Edge > hit > (he 2hr'd) > Flee > Run to entrance > Vile Elixir +1 > get my ass handed to me > Perfect Dodge > Hi-potion x3 > Vile Elixir > I die with Maat having 40% health. How in hell am I supposed to beat him when I recovered probably around 1k HP and still only took him down to 40%. The ONLY explanation I can find in this is that he guarded my 2nd DE so it only did half damage. That could've been an extra 10% damage there which could've caused him to give up. One other option I have is to merit Dagger twice so I can have Evisceration at 66 and be able to do a Distortion for more damage. I may actually do that just because in the long run it may save me time from having to get ANOTHER THF Testimony. Because I'm oh so excited to have to get another one as it is.

This is the week of Maat for me. I hope to have the cap by Sunday evening. I know I've said this previously but I think I can pull away from my gf long enough this week and hopefully get a few SMN burns in to finish my RNG off. The two big problems right now are getting my THF Testimony again and then getting my RNG to 66. Here's to hoping I have a good week in FFXI.

Testimonies

This is going to be a post strictly for me venting because I got sooooo frustrated last night with the fact that I went 1/37 on stealing my THF testimony.

I had spent multiple nights trying to get it but it just wasn't letting me steal it for some reason. I started really whining about it in LS asking people if I was doing something wrong or what. Figures that as I say I'm going to bed I see a Goblin Bandit and decide to try 1 more time and boom, there it is. Now that I am only 1700 til 67 on THF I might as well get some more exp on it and get an exp scroll so I can definitely win on my first try because I DO NOT want to have to go through that again.

Pretty much the same thing was going on with DRK for a while as I went 1/2, 1/7, and this last time I went 1/5. The only difference is that I know I'm going to beat Maat this time because I'm going to wait it out and get a Vile Elixir +1 to burn so I can do 2x Souleater Guillotines on him and be done with it. I am just getting so sick of Maat fights it isn't even funny, but as everyone keeps telling me, the end is in sight.

At least now I have pretty much full proof plans laid out for both DRK and THF that should allow be to easily beat Maat down. Which means I would only have to worry about RNG, but I have a pretty much full proof plan there too that as long as Maat's 2hr doesn't kill me I should win in about 10 seconds of my first WS on him.

Final Maat's Cap goal: have the cap by next weekend. Yes I realize that gives me a lot of time but I have 8 levels on RNG that I still have to burn through and I still need to skill up my Marksmanship more. As for DRK and THF fights though as long as I get a little more exp on THF I'll be good to go and DRK just needs a Vile Elixir+1.

Triple Shot Of Maat

I didn't do much last night but I felt VERY accomplished as I whooped the old man 3 times and got a SMN burn in.

First off was NIN since I was basically geared and ready to rumble. It was night time so I figured by the time I finished gearing and getting food and getting all the way out to the Chamber of Oracles I'd be ready by the next night, and I was correct. Just as I zoned in it turned night time which worked out perfectly. I started off with the regular buffs and food, and threw in Yonin too. Then I started going at him and once his shadows were down I Retsu'd him to paralyze since I didn't have Jubaku: Ichi. Then I blinded and slow'd him with Hojo: Ichi because again I didn't own Hojo: Ni. From there on out it was pretty easy. Paralyze, slow, and blind were the 2 huge factors because I only got hit once the whole fight for about 85 damage and he never even 2hr'd. In all, fight was a cake walk and even if he did 2hr against me I had over 900 HP still so I would've just kept going and not even bothered healing myself because he was so low on HP already.

Next up was PLD because I didn't have use my 2hr or use an I Wing for NIN so I geared and went for PLD right away. For the most part I was geared for ACC and DMG and used Carbonara for extra damage. Funny story about all this was that I bought Yag drinks and an HP regen food and didn't use any of them. Basically same story as NIN, just straight tanked and Vorpal Bladed when I could and saved Sentinel for an OMG moment that never came. I did use I Wing towards the end just because I was down to about 80MP and about 600HP so I figured I wouldn't bother taking the chance and just unleashed on him. Cake fight that I suggest going DD style because he honestly wasn't hitting that hard and I was never in any real danger.

When I got back from that fight I decided to gear up for SMN since I still had my 2hr as a fall back. By the time I geared up SMN I got asked to quickly come do a SMN burn so I flew out there and got about 4 merits right quick which helped me drop another merit into Lightning Potency which is now at 4/5 and I already have 2 of the 5 ready to cap it.

Once that was done I decided SMN time to go beat Maat. Again, easy fight that as long as you just pay attention and don't lose your head you'll be fine. I could've beaten the record but I decided to go safe rather than sorry. Started with a Blink Band and Titan for Stoneskin, then whipped out Diabolos and sent him on his way. When he got there I used Netherworld Blast on Maat and then Nightmare to sleep his avatar (Titan). Once my rage timer was back up I ran to the entrance and then unsummoned and resummoned Diabolos. By the time Maat had made it to me I had already told Diabolos to attack him. Maat did 2hr at this point and his avatar was awake and within seeing distance, but was way too far out of range to make a difference. When his avatar got there I used Nightmare again and then let Diabolos do his thing. By the time my rage timer was up again Maat was already at about 40% so I Netherworld Blasted one more time and Maat gave up. Very simple fight that takes very little prep or worrying especially when you are 75. I was planning on using my Yag drinks but again just simply forgot to use them because by the time my MP was dropping below 50%, so was Maat's HP and then Blood of the Vampyre was kicking in and I was getting an extra refresh anyways.

Thus bringing me down to 8 levels on RNG and 3 Maat fights, RNG, THF, and DRK. DRK I was starting to gear up for and then saw videos of decently geared 66DRKs 2-shotting him so I think I'm going to try to take that approach. Now I just need to rethink my gear and food a little then go to town tonight. If all goes really well this weekend I'm looking at Maat's Cap Sunday night. :D

Single Digits!

First and foremost, 8 levels left on RNG and I'm done!!! This is really the kicker of the weekend because otherwise I was in a really bad mood because I missed out on my RDM AFv2 Hat and possibly BLM AFv2 Hat.

Anyways, I got a lot of SMN burning in this weekend which means much progress on merits and exp. Obviously I'm really close to Maat's Cap now and REALLY need to start concentrating on my fights. I got DRG fight done this weekend and could probably do BLM, SMN, and MNK without much problem now. That still only takes me to 10/15 fights done so I have my work cut out for me.

The highlight piece of gear I got, and Khrone actually, was Yinyang Robe. That really boosts my SMN because now I am more confident on what I can do with it. Maat should be pretty easy now because I can have over 1100 MP as an Elvaan on SMN, but will probably only be around 980 or so since my SJ gets nixed during the fight. In all that should still be pretty easy for my fight though as long as I don't get unlucky with his Astral Flow. Also in SMN news I got the Temenos item for AF+1 which will be great for AF+1 hands to give me an extra avatar perpetuation cost -1.

I'm thinking tonight if I have some free time I'll be doing my BLM and MNK Maat fights and then hopefully getting into a burn party for more merits/exp. My jobs are really coming along with these SMN burns because even when I'm not leeching exp, I'm still getting good merit points that I'm currently lacking.

No QotD here because it would be large amounts or profanity from me finding out I could've gotten RDM hat Sunday night...

Sleepy Maat

Last night was a fun night filled with just doing stuff with friends. Those are the best nights and sometimes you end up getting the most accomplished.

For starters, I got online and on a whim decided to check Shiki Weapon and wadda ya know, he's up. So I'm frantically searching for friends to help me but basically no one was on. Finally I found Mac on and he said he'd be more than happy to come as long as it was up. So we go out there and let me tell you, Mac is a beast at solo RDM. I have no clue how he does it because his macros have to be retardedly complex. Any time he casts a spell he swaps like 4 pieces of gear and then swaps back. I was there on BRD and he was on RDM/NIN and he really didn't need me at all as he took a total of 0 damage the whole fight. Sadly the robe didn't drop but we are planning on going back out there today and hopefully getting the drop so I can look like a real 75 SMN.

After that I had to bounce for a bit, but when I came back Swifman had just logged on too. He let me borrow his Apollo's Staff so I could go Repose Maat a few times and get another big W in my column. That does put me back at 500 for Maat fights, 6 losses and 6 wins, 2 losses on BRD, 2 on MNK, 1 on DRG, and 1 on BLM. I do have much better plans for MNK, BLM, and DRG though so I should be good on those. My big concerns are THF, NIN, and PLD.

So that was a quick and easy fight considering my 1st Repose landed, 2nd resisted, then 3rd and 4th landed. I took a whopping 0 damage but did get silenced once. Its a good thing I did have my Echo Drops macro'd because that saved me about 3 seconds of getting pummeled. But in reality it was an easy fight. Win time was 6min 44sec and the record was 6min 6sec so I did pretty darn good.

Once I got back from that Swifman and I were trying to find stuff to do so we did some ENMs. Hagun ENM where we both dual boxed which was fun and ended up going pretty well, but no drop. Then we headed out to Monarch Linn for 2 ENMs out there. We ended with the Fire in the Sky one that was cake because we both 2hr'd on RDM and didn't get much of a drop from there either. But we also duo'd the Uninvited Guests and that was quite interesting.

Usually you do Univited guests with a DD/NIN and a RDM. It goes pretty well most of the time but when you go in as 2xRDM/WHM it gets quite interesting. We were kiting around the whole time and nuking when possible. I figured out early on that if you kite with W Legs around the outside of the circle he won't catch you for 90% of the fight. The only big problem is locking in hate on 1 person to kite so the other person can nuke and rest without much of a problem. Because of my 5/5 ice accuracy on RDM my nukes were doing about 5% damage each time but I'm guessing Swifman's were getting resisted regularly which is why I was kiting the mob for most of the time. Swif finally was able to start pulling hate from me by cure bombing me so I could rest up to nuke the last bit down. We luckily finish after 28 minutes when we only had 30 minutes to do the fight. It was ugly but really fun at the same time.

Hopefully tonight I can get my YYR, knock out my DRG fight, and then maybe do some Limbus with Swifman if we have some extra time. I'm having fun doing all these little side things with him and Mac because they keep me interested and actually helps me towards having better gear and more gil to play with when I want to buy stuff.

More Maat Mashing

This will be a very short post as I really didn't get that much done this weekend since it was my birthday.

I beat Maat on BST which actually came down a lot closer than I expected. I had to take Maat down below 20% which most people say he gives up at 30% so it was getting scary because my pet just died and Maat and his pet were wrecking me. Luckily I only had to land 2 more hits after my pet died and I won. Simple fight though where I just followed the wiki. Go in with the HQ spider thing, Lifedrinker Lars or whatever, and just sent him in. I took out the pet (dragonfly) pretty easily and then started with a WS on Maat then Snarl. Then just regular melee/Sic-ing my pet. Actually, I don't even remember if I Sic'd my pet. lol

Then I did SAM last night and it was scary close. It should've been over in about 45 seconds but when I looked back at the log I realized why it wasn't. Apparently I missed my 2nd WS which was the most important because that was supposed to be the start of a SC. I was going to rock out Light and then finish him off with an extra Gekko. Well, Maat had other plans by dodging my 2nd WS and screwing up my nice large SC that was going to kill him. Luckily my Third Eye was a champ and absorbed like 6 hits after I put it back up and was able to just melee him down. This was an unlucky fight for me as I even have merits into GK because I whiffed that WS but lucky because I was still able to take him down.

That's about it besides more Testimony hunting so I can clear out inventory space to actually level my RNG. Hopefully tonight I will get round 2 on DRG and MNK and maybe Repose my way to a WHM victory as well. Here's to having a few more Maat fights done by tomorrow.

I Don't Get It

So last night I guess there was a big problem with Dynamis-Tavnazia where the time extensions didn't pop as they were supposed to so the second group ended up not even going in. Which means yet again no Dynamis-Tavnazia for me.

After that I was going to start a burn party and then another group just went in there. Darn. So I asked if they need another puller/leecher/smn and the guy said please. He asked me to come SMN which I didn't mind because I want to get it to 75 anyways so I can get me some merits. When I get down in the tunnel I see that there are 2 guys pulling already so I'm kinda pumped. I figure we can fly through these burns really quickly. Well the first one went well and the second pull was done in about 40 minutes which is like record time. Too bad the one SMN screwed up and only got to astral flow twice instead of three times and left us with our sync 4k til 19 and Thunderspark.

During that pull is when I realized that the leader wasn't actually pulling. The one guy was just pulling on 2 chars and then job changing on one and holding on the other. Which meant that I was helping pull but getting no benefit of being a puller. The guy leading was just there to leech. I don't get it! How does a leecher not have a puller job, that is definitely unfair to the guys that are actually pulling! Needless to say I'm not really thrilled about that. It turns out we had a really good pull but it took us 2 hours to do the pull and kill because 1 SMN screwed up. I mean 40 minute pull, 1hr and 20min to kill. I don't get it!

One the bright side of it, I did get my SMN to 74 and I'm only about 20k til 75. That means I need to switch to exp mode on a 75 job so when I ding 75 on SMN all my exp doesn't go straight into merits and I actually get a buffer on my SMN first. I will need a buffer because I'm sure while I'm attempting to learn to play the job I'll be dying some. lol

That still leaves my RNG at 50 and 0 maat fights done last night. I can't say that I'm too disappointed though because I did get over 2 levels on SMN and am now only 1 burn away from being able to merit on SMN now. To be honest though, I really would like to have Maat's Cap first then merit, but we can't be too picky when we're getting fast quick and easy exp.

One Job Left

THF exp is complete! I had some extra time last night and some friends weren't doing anything AND the tunnel was empty. Those three things together means uber exp party. lol

Before I got the group together I was sitting in Besieged skilling up my Divine Magic with Lilmama and Eldeus. I got almost 20 levels on my Divine Magic and am almost ready for my Maat fight on WHM, excluding not having the Testimony yet. But some funny stuff did happen in Besieged. For one, I kept taking hate from Eldeus on his full Usu MNK on my level 66 WHM just spamming Banish, Banish II, Flash, and Holy which was rather amusing. Then there was a huge group of Lamia and undead by the AC room in the courtyard and there was a General there spamming an AoE WS. Well, I decided it would be a fantastic idea to go in and spam Banishga and Banishga II and watch myself die from all the mobs coming at me, but it never happened. All the mobs moved a little but then the General spammed her AoE WS and got all the hate back so I was just spamming my AoE spells too which was rather amusing.

Anyways, when the second Besieged started Swifman was well into bugging me to start a party so I decided to ask the other puller/holder/leecher that I know that wasn't busy. He said he was down and bam we had a party. Originally I was telling myself that I would burn only on my RNG from here on out but I decided that I really didn't WANT to exp on my THF and would much rather exp on my RNG if it came down to it so I burned my THF to about 10k to 67.

This was an AWESOME pull by yours truly though. I mean, the other guy pulled the middle to hold and I pulled the bats, spiders, and then leeches/bogies. First off, the mobs were cooperating a lot more this pull so I lost a lot less mobs. Secondly, I got a bunch more bogies than I normally do. Thirdly, I finally figured out how to pull the leeches without having them deaggro by going over water, w00t! There was only one problem with this pull, the sync was 77 exp until 12 and only made it to 3k til 19 which meant no Thunderspark. It was an awesome pull but unlucky on the astral flows because it seemed that a lot of mobs only got hit by a few of the bursts instead of all of them. At the end of the 9 bursts there were still mobs with 80% HP which isn't cool. The cool part was that we still hit a chain 25 just by doing Thundersparks. Overall with an exp ring I think we got around 45k exp which is REALLY good considering we didn't chain that well during the astral flows.

Tonight could be a potentially great night. We have Dynamis-Tavnazia at 8PM but I have volleyball at 8:30. What I'm hoping is that I can get out of volleyball right at 9:30 and make it home in time for the 2nd run of Tav and HOPEFULLY HOPEFULLY have a chance at RDM hat. The odds are slim but here's to hoping right? Besides that I'm hoping to get some more exp and Maat fights done. I'd like to at least get 1 more Maat fight done tonight so I can knock another one off my list.

Maat Masher

Let me tell you, Maat is not an easy guy. I lost to him on DRG and BLM and almost lost on RDM. From what I hear is that RDM is really tough but I did it in 1 try which I'm proud of. The RDM fight made me realize something though, when fighting Maat, macro out the fight and run through it at the BCNM before you enter.

For DRG, I was cocky. I went in saying to myself that it would be an easy fight. I went in, slept to 100, Penta, Jump, High Jump, Icarus Wing, Penta, and I was dead. Looking at this you might think it was a good job, but then when you really look at it, you realize I didn't use food and didn't use my 2hr. That right there my friends is why I lost. If I would've used food and my 2hr I would've won because I had him down to 40% when I died. Although I also would've won if he didn't partly guard my 2nd Penta. My first Penta did 660 and my second one only did 330, that bastard! DRG was by far the hardest Testimony to get too, but I at least know I need to go to SSG and it shouldn't be hard and I can make some easy gil in the process.

BLM I choked. I went in cocky again and just choked. If I would've read anything about the fight I would've discovered that I could 2 shot AM2. Instead, I went for 3 T4s and then paniced and got waterga III'd to death. BLM at 75 should be simple, AM2, stun, sleep, AM2. But noooo, I stunned and then nuked again wasting my stun that I should've used for that -ga. Lessoned learned... macro the fight, don't take it for granted, and read up as much as possible, it'll save me time in the long run.

WAR I basically macro'd out and I OWNED Maat. I mean I'm pretty sure he was D-E-D DEAD! Of course being 75 helps a lot with damage. hehe RDM was a lot tougher but not as hard because I macro'd the whole thing out so I could just not panic and smack around my macros in order and bam, done. Although, if his blink didn't take one of my debuffs and one of my nukes it would've been a lot easier.

Now on to the brighter part of my weekend, SMN and SMN burning. SMN burning went very nicely, THF is now 65 and ready to be regeared and exp'd to 66. I only need about 25k to get to 66 and I have to gear the job anyways so I might as well gear it and exp it instead of wasting a SMN burn on it. This means I basically only have RNG to do. Go go power Ranger!!! Yeah, shut up, its funny. Sadly, I do not currently have the inventory space to support my RNG gear. This means I need to do a few more Maat fights then unload some gear. Not to mention I stil need to get my RNG AF which is actually mostly worth while to get.

Getting back on track, my SMN is doing pretty well too. I have to admit, SMN is definitely growing on me. Its pretty fun to have your summon go knock some junk up and not be worried about being injured yourself. What I really want to mention is that last night I went to Whitegate to pick something up from Swifman (which will be explained in todays QotD) and saw a shout for a Fenrir fight. Well gues what, I only needed the Fenrir item to get my Evoker's Ring. 5xSMN and a RDM absolutely owns Fenrir by the way. So when I go home tonight, I will have my shiney new Evoker's Ring waiting for me and my refresh active while Carby is out now!!! I so cited!!! This is the first stepping stone to me gearing my SMN. The next ... Yinyang Robe!

On a side note, I actually did some more crafting yesterday. It was great because with the stuff I sold I made about 400k. Such a great feeling seeing my hard work for Bonecraft to finally start paying me back. Of course 10 minutes after it all sold I went and bought a 630k Jupiter's Staff. So much for a profitable weekend right?

Quote of the Day:
Swifman kept telling me he had a gift for me but it wasn't that important. He finally found me last night while I was playing Rock Band 2 with 2 of my brothers so I was obviously afk. After we finished playing I had to run up to Whitegate to get my key item for ISNMs anyways. I find him and am all excited to get my gift. I get my gift in the form of a white arrowhead looking piece which as most would recognize as a Phantom Tathlum. Immediately after trading me he says: "Now quit being a nuub already!" That is right when I lol'd.

One Of Those Nights

Last night wasn't a great night but a progressive night none-the-less. I went in search of some Testimonies to get those out of the way. Of course the one I most desired was DRG so I could do the fight and be able to sell off all of my DRG gear. As luck would have it, I got every other Testimony in Monastic Cavern that can drop except DRG. Luck was so on my side that I even got the DRK Testimony from the Orcish Warlord NM on the 2nd kill but couldn't get a DRG one in about 20 kills... go figure.

It was still semi productive because I got half of the Testimonies that I still needed and I got to toy around with SMN some more. SMN is actually pretty fun, but definitely takes some getting used to. I was mainly playing Screamineagle as PLD/RDM and just using my SMN for Predator Claws and the occasional back up curing. MP management and Avatar Perpetuation cost- is HUGE as a SMN. I wouldn't be able to do most of what other people do because my gear is so lacking and my overall skill as a SMN isn't that great. Pretty much I know what BPs do and when to use them, but I'm definitely lacking in how to use them and the most efficient way of using them.

There is a lot of skill and work that goes into being a good solo SMN and I'm lacking in both currently. When you hear about the difference in knowing how to do something in practice and being able to actually do it, they are two totally different things. Even just last night I learned a lot while for the most part just using Predator Claws. I know my avatar perpetuation cost needs to drastically go down or I would never be able to solo anything. While I was having Garuda attack some mobs I would lose massive amounts of MP just leaving it out. Its bad enough that the level 70 BPs cost 168MP but then the perpetuation cost is the real killer in the long run. It boggles my mind to see some SMNs easily solo mobs and then I sit there and blow 50% of my MP on 50% of a mob. This is definitely something I will need to work on, and with that goes to upgrading some gear.

I don't think this weekend will be all that great for me because I'm starting to not feel well and my gf is already sick. Hopefully I can just do some relaxing exp and knock out some Maat fights. No real goals for this weekend except rank Screamineagle back up in Campaign so I can get him the Iron Ram Body piece.

DRG Exp Is Done

As is obvious by the title, I finished off my last little bit of exp on DRG in campaign. It was kind of a pain because of course when I really wanted a battle it took 15 min before I gave up and went to a random one which ended after me getting 500 exp. Then the next new battle took about 20 min but was enough for me to go about 1k into 66.

After that I told Swifman I'd go hang out with him for a bit and realized he's a really good tank. We did Ramuh and he went PLD/RDM and he was doing awesome. At one point he dropped down to about 20HP after Ramuh's 2hr but brought himself back up with a little of my help. I don't think he could've solo'd it but he definitely did a great job. Oh, and I went on my 72SMN just to play around with my summons. It was fun actually doing something on SMN and realizing that my summoning skill is only about 150 below where it should be. lol Still, I got my MP over 1,000 and I made some new macros for SMN. The big thing is that I need to get some real gear for my SMN and then make some real macros instead of just simple ones where I summon them and swap staves.

Anyways, that was all I got done last night which isn't really that big of a deal for me considering my gf stayed over way longer than I expected and the Campaign Battles took longer. It was cool to be able to do a random event with Swifman though since I don't really get to do much with friends anymore if it doesn't include exp of some form.

Tonight I'm hoping to have DRG done, and I mean done. I plan on getting the Testimony, killing Maat, and selling all my DRG gear that doesn't cross over to another job. If I have extra time tonight maybe I'll try to sneak myself into a SMN burn party or get another Maat fight done. Beating Maat on one of my 75 jobs should be pretty easy and require almost no skill what-so-ever. WAR, BLM, RDM, and SAM should be cake because it isn't that hard to beat him at level 66 so at 75 with merits and good gear it should be a laugh. I heard BLM is basically 4 nukes and its over.

Learning To Play DRG

People don't understand how to play jobs anymore. They think that joining a TP burn party is just that, you join, you swing, you use your TP, and repeat. If that is your philosophy, just quit the game now because you're ruining it for me.

Now I know as a DRG you do massive amounts of damage on Colibri and its really hard for a NIN to tank against you without hate help from someone like a THF. This is where my latest party with DRG was set up well, but executed poorly. The THF was SATAing a BLU/THF... /headdesk. The BLU was dropping huge damage SA'd spells at the beginning of fights.... /slap. And I was the only one sitting there holding back on my damage so the NIN could be the one tanking.

Dear THF, you're a moron. You are level 60+ and I understand you just love SATA, but with Assassin you can now seperate SA and TA and still drop good amounts of hate on the tank, GO YOU. I had to sadly explain this to the guy so he would actually do it correctly. It turns out that I didn't have e nough time to explain how DEX and AGI work with SA and TA though.

Dear BLU, you were better than the THF because you at least knew he was wrong but its partly your fault too because you can just as easily TA the NIN for more hate which you NEVER DID. Yes, I know the NIN has Yonin now for extra enmity, but on Colibri he has Provoke and ... Provoke unless he wants to get his face blown up by spells. My rule of thumb is wait for at least a second Provoke before you do big damage or you start wasting the healer's MP. That is, wait for the second Provoke if you don't have a means of mittigating the hate you just got.

Dear other DRG, don't use High Jump to build TP to WS and then not have Super Jump ready to shed more hate, your face will get eaten especially because you were /WAR and couldn't even take 1 hit.

Dear me, GOOD JOB! You used Jump at will to help do damage and build TP. You came /SAM so you could get to 100% TP with 1 less swing. You gear swap on WS's to boost your damage and make exp flow faster. You learned that using the combination of Third Eye > Penta Thrust > High Jump or Super Jump usually meant you took 0 damage. As it turns out it was good timing between battles too because you could either use High Jump or Super Jump each fight. You also didn't use High Jump > Penta Thrust > getting your face rapped because you were intelligent. You also learned that when you have someon who relies on being behind the mob for big amounts of damage you should stand next to the tank because you will take hate. Here's to you Mr. Smart DRG Man. Ahh, the joys of an 8k/hr party in a 12k/hr camp....

As awesome as that party was they were understanding when I had "something come up" and I had to leave real quick. Funny part was that that "something came up" was a SMN burn party that I could get hella faster exp than I was with them. That was the start of a pretty good SMN burn weekend.

By the end of the weekend I had gotten my THF to 62, my DRG to 65 (in the exp party), and my SMN to 70. My first Predator Claws was also for 1258 on a poor bat in Zeruhn Mines. I know I shouldn't be worrying about my SMN but getting it to 75 is an eventuality anyways. Also, the sooner I get my SMN to 75, the sooner I get to turn these parties into merit parties and put myself into a substantially better position for getting into DF. But I did get 2 more levels on THF which is sorely needed because I really don't WANT to level THF at all. There is a lot of gear that goes into making THF good and I just don't want the hassle of all the swap gear for a few levels. Once I get through THF and get my last level on DRG I will only have RNG. Yeah, I'm PUMPED!!!!!! Just having all the exp done will make me feel great. When I finish all my exp for Maat's Cap I think I will put in my app to DF and while they are talking about not letting me in I can work on fighting Maat. lol 21 LEVELS OR 377K EXP TO GO!!!!!

There's so much I can do after I get done with Maat's Cap its not even funny. For one is stress less about NEEDING exp and HAVING to finish this. I can relax and maybe concentrate on gil making, missions, Campaign, and maybe even finishing off some stuff on Screamineagle. This is such a comforting feeling to be able to see the end and not have any HUGE plans afterwards. Maybe some exp, definitely some merits when I feel like it, possibly crafting, such options!

Oh, and on a quick side note, I did my first Einherjar run in a loooooooooong time with DF this weekend. Someone messed up a pull and linked the last wave of mobs and the boss so we ended up wiping but I'm just happy I got about 1300 points that is going towards my Omega Ring. If they let me in I would love to dual box Screamineagle in there to get him some extra gear as well.

Quote of the Day:
Hmm, lets put it this way, I heard a lot of quotes this weekend and 90% of them are not allowed to be put into print because there doesn't need to be a trail led back to me. Lets just leave it as this was a great weekend. But in the interests of my 1 or 2 readers....

Brick Wall

I was doing so well for so long, but then of course when I start coming really close to my goal I hit a brick wall. In the past week or so I've gotten like 2 levels. 2 levels in a week will just not fly if I'm going to have my cap by the end of the month.

Lately I've been out of town, busy with sports, or with my gf all the time. Disdain is finally coming back and I've had very little time to do stuff with him. Last night I was able to get his DNC into my exp party because it took our BRD way too long to log back on. It was a fun party considering our MNK/WAR was tanking. Not to mention my polearm starting to skill up more and I was able to more consistently drop massive Penta Thrusts on the Colibri. Having Disdain on DNC was a nice addition, considering no BRD or COR, since he could do haste samba, back up cure, and pull.

Other than that though I have had basically no progress in game. No bonecrafting skill ups, no real Maat's Cap progress, no new gear to speak of, no special events I've done, and just being envious of some of my friends because they started doing Salvage. It sucks not having a regular schedule because that means I get excluded from all the events I would like to do. Not being able to be relied on for certain times week in and week out is crushing because that leaves me with just leveling jobs and meriting and making the occasional Dynamis when I can. This blows...

After chatting with Swifman a little bit he's pretty convinced that I could make it into DaFunk without much of a problem as long as I get a some more merits into BLM. Right now I know my jobs are kind of lack luster but that's only because I never had the need to really deck them out. If I am accepted into DaFunk though I know I'm gonna have to drop some gil and upgrade a lot of my gear so I can really contribute to the LS. But this all depends on me FINISHING MAAT'S CAP!!! ARGH!!! Hopefully I can crack down and get this done by the end of the month AT THE LATEST because I would like to move on with this game instead of just exping all the time.

I don't have a Quote of the Day because I'm not in a great mood.

I Just Stole 60

Basically, I thieved myself through the 50s again without swinging a weapon. Thief is now 60 and ready for the 1 night stand to finish it to 66.... hopefully! The great part is that I don't have anything to skill up for THF so it doesn't really matter if I blow it off. I just need to get it to 66 and that's all.

Another thing I got done this weekend was get DRG to 62 and my Polearm to 192. I still have a lot of work to do on my Polearm skill but I'm happy that I'm making decent progress on my DRG. This is one job I haven't minded taking the slow way because I know in the end it will shine with higher weapon skill and my new found knowledge of how to mitigate hate. Dropping a 600+ weaponskill on a mob and not taking any damage by the time the tank has hate back is great. Third Eye, High Jump, and Super Jump are great abilities to have in your arsenal since you can drop lots of damage, take 0 damage, and then magically have the tank tanking again.

The goal for this week is finishing THF or getting THF mostly finished and more progress on DRG. I'm thinking a minimum of 5 levels by the end of Thursday because on Friday I go out of town for the weekend.

I'm Burning Out

Yeah, I like to use stupid 1-liners to show say what I'm really doing. But I have a feeling once I actually get Maat's Cap it will be rough to think of new ones.

Since it has been a while since I posted I will go back to where I left off, DRG. I believe it was 59 the last time I posted but now it is 61. That happened this past weekend while I was moping around and had no intentions of leaving my house for reasons I will briefly mention at the end of the post. Anyways, I got into more bird parties and got my Polearm up close to 180 which is decent but still not where it needs to be if I want to beat Maat. I still have 5 levels of exp to get my skill up higher and seeing that it is not even capped for level 54 yet I will be able to get it at 200 if not close to 200 by the time I start getting into regular Colibri parties and finish DRG to 66.

Next was BST which I was finally able to finish off SMN burning, hence the title. The purpose of the title is that last night I did 4 burns in a row and was starting to get a little burned out and was not in the mood to have me and another guy pull but me hold all the mobs while he went and joined the burn. For future information, it is rather difficult to recast with over 100 mobs smacking you even if you have Aquaveil up. I was able to hold the mobs pretty well but I did end up having to use Invincible at one point to save my arse.

You may be wondering why I have THF listed in the label also. Well, THF is listed because after I finished BST I switched to THF and got 7 levels going from 50 to 57 in 2 burns. It was great to basically fly through the 50s in a matter of 2 hours. lol I figure by the time I finish DRG to 66 through exp parties I should be able to burn THF to 66 through smn burns. Hopefully I can finish them at the same time and then strictly concentrate on RNG.

One thing I have been thinking about though is that I want to have SMN above 70 before I do Maat on it because I think that trying to do him without using my 2hr could really save me some time from having to wait for my 2hr to reset and do another fight right after it. Not to mention I wouldn't mind trying to snag a Yin Yang Robe before I do the fight to really rock his socks off.

Something I have started to think about is what will I do once I get all my jobs to 66 and get my Maat's Cap. There are a few jobs I wouldn't mind getting to 75 but I'm in no real rush to do any of that. Maybe I will start meriting again and start concentrating on finishing off the jobs that matter to me like RDM or maybe even SAM. I have some STR merits I could really use or plenty of other places I can drop merits. But I have been more thinking about finishing my own MNK off to 75. It could really be a big boost for getting myself into a Salvage group especially when I'm now 1/3 on Black Belt items without spending a dime. Although, another option is trying to join an HNM shell and just help out whenever I can. Its not like I would be around all the time but whenever I get on I could devote my online time to them to get some really nice gear for myself. Plus there is sea I could jump into to get myself really rounded out for some of my jobs like SAM, MNK, or even BLM. Not to mention in sea I could pick up the enfeebling cape.

I dunno, for those that read this blog let me know what you think I should do after Maat's Cap. Level all jobs to 75? Do SCH? Join HNM? Merit? Farm as much gil as I can? Finish Bonecraft to 100 and do subcrafts to 60? I need some help people!

Oh, and I said I was going to mention why I wasn't in a good mood this weekend. Which ironically coincides a little with Lost. On 7/23/09 my car was broken into and my work laptop was stolen. Part of the ID number on the laptop was also 23. Anyways, if you know something about Lost it is one of the "cursed" numbers that Hurley talks about. But I had to have my window replaced on my own dime and luckily work paid for the laptop. Hopefully that will all be finished and taken care of by the end of tomorrow though because I will be getting my car back by the end of the day tomorrow and hopefully all my software will be completely updated on my new laptop. Ok, I'm done writing as this turned into a long post.

Fast And Burning

JUST LIKE MY PEE!!!! No, not really...

Well, I am happy to say I got 2 levels last night! Actually I got 3 levels last night, but the 1 on SMN I don't really count because it is already post Maat's Cap level. But the other 2 levels were on BST so that is a big step in the right direction as that is my highest Maat's Cap job that isn't 66 yet. I probably got about 50k on my BST from SMN burning when it would've been more but we had 2 huge screw ups on pulls.

Some people think because they know the concept of how an Astral Flow party works they know how to do it correctly. Such as; I know how to pull, I get hate from one of each type of mob and just link everything. Yes, that is how you pull for an Astral Flow party, but just because you can make it all the way across the zone without dying doesn't mean you actually pulled correctly.

The other puller in my 2nd group did not understand how to pull. He just aggro'd and ran, that was it. You have to actually keep the mobs close or they depop. The one good pull we had with the 2nd group was because I cleaned up everything he missed. The guy said, I'll pull the middle, and by the time I got Screamin in the zone there were 10 mobs just at the front part of the middle that had already repopped. So I pulled some bats from up top, then pulled the middle again and we got about 30k which is just from pulling the middle. When this guy "pulled the middle" the second time I didn't have Screamin clean up after him because I had Screamin do an actual upstairs pull. This is where I should have realized it was a bad idea. I got 8k from that pull and that was with my exp ring. 8k... Let me reiterate, 8k. I know my pull on Screamin wasn't that great because the tunnels are narrow and it is very easy to lose a lot of mobs, but this guy obviously got NOTHING from pulling the middle. Needless to say, if I ever do Astral Flows with him, I'm not letting him pull the middle... EVER. But hey, at least our Level Sync target only gained 1 level on his 13 DRG.

Live and learn I guess. Next time I'm only doing SMN burns with people I know and trust because I'm pretty sure I could dual box pull better than that guy "pulls the middle". I was surprised that Korroloka was so empty, but that makes me hopeful for next week. If I can snag Vandy to be my 2nd puller we can easily rock out 60-90k in a few hours and finish off his DNC and maybe start another job for him since he's trying to take all jobs to 75.

Tonight I probably won't have any progress because I have some RL stuff to do and then tomorrow I'm heading to PA to go camping for the weekend with some friends from college. So basically, partying all weekend in the middle of nowhere.

Slow And Steady

... is not how I want to be right now. I have been getting a level a night the past 2 nights and that is NOT what I want to be doing. As nice as 1 level a night is, that would take me a month and a half to finish when I really want to be done in about 3 weeks with exp. After finishing exp I expect to take about a week with all the Maat fights.

On the plus side, I finally got into a Wajaom Woodlands party so I was able to skill up my Polearm to 160 by the end of the night. Penta Thrust with a capped Polearm skill should be awesome because I was still landing 500+ Pentas but I was averaging about 350 probably. When my skill is capped I will have much better accuracy so I should be able to blow up some mobs really easily and probably pop over 600 damage Penta Thrusts then, which would be awesome.

I have also really been trying to find people to do Astral Flow parties with but the people I know that would do them with me aren't on or are busy when I'm on. It really sucks because I would be basically done with BST in a night then. Ugh, this is just not working out as well as I hoped.

Anyways, tonight I'm going to have basically no time to myself because I am going to dinner at my gf's house, bball, vball, then I'll probably be taking a nap because I'm supposed to be going to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter. Call me a loser, whatever, I'm looking forward to it. What I am not looking forward to is waking up really early again because I have a dentist appointment at 8:40 tomorrow morning which means if I'm lucky I'll get up to 6 hours of sleep. Why must RL get in the way of gaming? Can't it just buzz off and let me get Maat's Cap already? I swear I'll pay more attention to RL once I have my blue cap!

Jump, Jump ... High Jump!

Oddly enough, that is also how many Jumps per High Jump you can do before its up again. lol I'm funny, I know. DRG is my new toy to play with. And go figure, a DRG got a quick invite to an E. Ronf. [S] party. Also, ironically enough there was a good surprise when I got there.

I get to the party of a guy who's name sounded familiar. Then I see Kaisr there and was shocked. When I asked who was controlling Kaisr I discovered that the leader's name was familiar because he was one of Kaisr's RL friends. That's when we started talking a lot more about Kaisr coming back and ... astral flow parties. muahaha Yes, I'm an astral flow fiend now because it would greatly help out my Maat's Cap goal and help with finishing some of my jobs to 75. Its great making new friends from the old.

So not only did I make a new friend, but I also got into an awesome party because we were dominating the mobs. We eventually were killing so many mobs around us the group that had the good camp gave up because they could only really pull the mobs in their area and then they were out of mobs. Once we got the good camp we had a chain of over 30 at one point before the pulls got to be too far to keep the chain. I do have to admit though, DRK is a dominating DD at those lower levels even against DRG's piercing bonus. But once we hit 40 no one could keep up with a DRG on hate. The one guy would voke at the start of the fights and then I would do a Double Thrust for 300+ and my wyvern would do a breathe damage for 100ish and hate would basically be locked on to me. Not to mention if I did a crit hit it would be for almost 200. Then when I would crit my Jumps it was retarded!!! I think my highest Jump was 271... 271!!!!!! That's more than most of my WSs during the 60k exp that I got in that party.

But in all, good times last night and a new friend was made. He already has Maat's Cap too, but now his goal is all jobs to 75. Guess we have a basically common goal then, tons of exp. lol

MEXICOOOOO!!!

This post has NOTHING to do with FFXI.

All last week I was in Mexico and man it was awesome. All-inclusive trips are the way to go. Drinking and eating as much as you want is great, and you never have to worry about being after hours because room service is included and is 24 hours!

Dreams Puerto Aventuras is where I went which is a little over an hour south of the Cancun Airport. You see the resorts in Mexico and you think its great, but if you see what is in between the resorts you can get kinda iffy. For example, while driving to the airport for our return trip we saw a lot of cops on the road and some with big automatic weapons wearing full riot gear minus the shields. We were quite surprised. On a slight side note, WTF is up with the random 6 inch bumps in the road that make you slow from 60km/hr to 5 then back to 60km/hr?!?! Why not just throw up a stop sign? Or is it that the drivers in Mexico completely ignore stop signs because our driver sure did...

Anyways, Mexican resorts are very nice. The water is amazing, the activities are fun (like swimming with dolphins, zip lining, or even snorkeling literally 3 feet away from an almost 5 foot long Barracuda), and the food isn't so bad. I really have to say, just sitting on that beach, soaking in the sun, not worry about anything is the best relaxing I've had in a long time. It was the best right up until my 80 minute massage that I got on the beach during sunset, and after that it was all downhill. lol

But that was basically my trip to Mexico in a nutshell. It went by so fast that it almost seems like my trip was a dream, but damn was it a good dream! A great dream that came with a nice tan too. haha Coming back to work definitely blows though. Hurray for saving up for my next vaca like this! :D

4 Jobs Left

PLD is done! I have about a 3k buffer in case I fail once or twice too. Hopefully I won't have to actually go back an exp any of these jobs anymore because it would definitely be a pain in my rump.

Got a pretty good party last night and just burned through some exp. Nothing amazing or fantastic, but just happy another job is done. It was a good party though because we had 2xRNG, SAM, RDM, WHM, and me on PLD. At first I was afraid I would have some issues holding hate but then I found my groove. Once we were going for a while I was getting really tired and started losing concentration and other people were getting hit. For the last 45 minutes or so I didn't even use the High Breathe Mantle because I was holding hate well enough for it to not matter.

Now I will be gearing up my DRG for probably my last job or 2 that I will actually be leveling to 66. There isn't too much I need for DRG that I don't already have. I only need a weapon, body, hands, and head piece. In a few levels I will need to get a grenade thing that gives ATT+4 but that's not too rough. I'm kinda excited to level DRG because now I get to show off what I can do on it. Not to mention I will get to play with Penta Thrust which is always a hoot!

Anyways, I'll post more tomorrow when I'm not so busy at work because I NEED this stuff at least working tonight so I can finish it up tomorrow.

Under 1,000,000 To Go

I have officially crossed the threshold of 1 million exp to go. I have somewhere around 900k exp to truck through before I get to make myself very good friends with the old man and his ugly mug.

Working on PLD has still been my focus because its not quite 66 yet. I need a little under 30k before I'm done with PLD for good. This is a job I really have no intentions of taking to 75 since Screamin is well geared already. Besides, I would have more fun finishing off some other jobs instead I think. PLD has been pretty fun but I've gotten to the point where its starting to get boring. Last night was a good change of pace though because we weren't just doing birds like every other party, we actually were doing Mount Z and crawlers. It was still good exp of over 8k/hr so I couldn't complain. Just after I dinged 65 and threw on the Shield Torque I swiped off of Screamin we ended up disbanding though. One exciting I do have to admit though is I do enjoy seeing all the skill ups I have been getting. Parrying, shield, and divine have all been going up at a good pace for how much I use each of them. Of course parrying is going way slower than shield and divine because we all know how tough it is to skill up parrying, but shield and divine are almost 200 which is pretty good for where I am. Its a pity I only have 1 more level of having a chance for shield and divine skill because I will probably never skill shield again and divine magic I will need for my WHM Maat fight.

Something I am looking forward to is getting back to some Astral Flow parties because that will be some quick exp to be able to finish off at least BST and maybe make some good progress on THF. I have been discovering I have less and less of a desire to level THF at all because there is a lot of gear that just doesn't cross over much and its not really fun until 60 with Assassin. Maybe if I get THF to 60 using burn parties I will dump the rest of my burn party exp into like RNG to save myself some gil, but I think I will have more fun with RNG than I would with THF because RNG gets better invites and can REALLY drop some good damage at those levels. The biggest problem with RNG will be how much gil I'm going to have to sink into it. Arrows and bolts alone are going to be rough, but the fact that E Bow is 55 and pretty much the best bow for RNGs is a back breaking expense. E Bow is sitting at about 3.5M right now which takes out over half of my current gil. Yeah, ouch...

Another topic I wanted to touch on is crafting. I have been trying out fishing for profit using Screamin's fishing and my crafting but it hasn't been working out as well as I hoped because people are stupid and throwing away profit. I sell something for 18k a stack, and people undercut it for less than it was selling for previously... RETARDS. There is one thing about undercutting it for maybe 1k less, but when you undercut by 3k you're just literally throwing away 3k of profit. Then on something like RR hairpins. They were steadily selling for 50k per pin, now all of a sudden they dropped to 45k. Why would you sell them for 5k less per synth. This just boggles my mind because people are trying to turn a quick profit so fast, they are missing out on profit that they should be making! Stupid people always amaze me. So right now all of my gil flow that I was counting on has pretty much come to a crashing halt because of undercutters. I refuse to sell my items for less than they are actually worth. Since I'm not hurting for inventory space right now I don't mind sitting on a lot of gil worth of items just so I can be sure I turn the good profit I should be later on down the road.

Basically, I need to find a consistent gil flow right now because I am going to need it very soon. There are also some gear pieces I wouldn't mind upgrading to because they would be boosts to some of my more fun 75s. As of right now I don't feel I have enough gil to dump into those fluff items because I still want to sit on enough of a nest egg to be able to dump into salvage gear if I ever get going on that.

3 Known Readers!!!

I found out yesterday I have a 3rd reader! Granted he was only interested in my last post because he wants to level his SMN now. lol But its heartwarming to know I have more than just 2 people that occasionally read this.

Anyways, since Sunday I haven't had much time for leveling since I've been pretty sick and my girlfriend has officially moved home. I have managed to get up to level 62 and almost to 63 on PLD though. Last night was kind of rough but for being in Aydeewa Sub. it was actually going pretty well. It would've been much better if our SCH didn't have full MP most of the time and the RDM wasn't refreshing him. I swear all the SCH did was do 2 nukes, rest to full, do 2 nukes, rest to full. People really need to learn their jobs and how to use them because there were many times when we could've used an AoE cure, paralyna or erase, but he was too busy just standing there with full MP. He'd only cure me when I went red and I had no MP too. To be perfectly honest I thought the RDM was dual boxing him because whenever the RDM was doing something, which was most of the time, the SCH wasn't. Then when the RDM was resting for MP the SCH would shoot off his 2 nukes and that's it. Ok, enough complaining about people not knowing how to do their job, let alone do their job well.

There is a bonus of having my girlfriend home now, I don't have to go down to visit her and completely give up FFXI for a weekend. I know overall I will be spending more time with her but I'm just trying to look at the bright side of things. haha

I'm hoping that I will have enough time to finish off my PLD to 66 by Sunday so I can move on to another job. Plus, I'm hoping by then my 3rd reader will be set up and ready to roll with some burn parties. I figure I can finish off THF through those parties because there isn't really anything I need to skill up for THF Maat since I should have Dagger capped, Evasion capped, and then Marksmanship I'm hoping to do through RNG. RNG I may do a little bit of burning with but it would leave me to do a lot of outside skilling up because my Archery and Marksmanship would definitely fall behind like they already kind of have. DRG I could just burn through also but I think I will burn my BST first since that would be the hardest job to get to 66. I'm hoping that once I have the levels for Maat's Cap I can just burn my SMN the rest of the way to 75 and learn to whoop on some mobs. Well, on the other hand I would really like to get my SCH up to at least 37 or actually 75... SO MUCH TO DO!!!

I'm done rambling for now...

Astral Flowing Through Levels

Let me start off this post by replying to Brian and his misinterpretation of what I meant by "SMN burn". I did not mean you get 5 SMNs and a COR and just go fight mobs. I actually meant an Astral Flow party using Level Sync. Without Level Sync this idea would be almost impossible because you would need everyone to be 10-14.

How this works:
Find a level sync target that is between 10 and 14 (or even 15) and get a few SMNs and a leecher or 2 depending on your set up. The usual set up is a level 12 target with 3 SMNs and 2 exp leeches. Then the big part is having 2 or 3 of the people with access to a level 75 RDM or PLD/RDM to pull the entire zone of Korroloka Tunnel. RDM works best because you are less likely to get interupted but I have yet to die from interuption. Usually you have one pull the mobs down the middle while the other pulls the mobs up top. Once you get as many mobs in the zone as you possibly can together you get them in a very close spot. There is a way to transfer mobs from one person to the other by curing and then resting but there have been times where I have gotten stuck resting and ended up dying because I couldn't move from there being so many mobs on me. Getting locked has only happened to me twice so we still transfer mobs to Screamin so the RDM can do an extra pull of mobs.

Anyways, once all the mobs are together one of the pullers picks a big mob, usually a Sea Monk or a Giant and starts spamming spells on it to gain a lot of hate and calls for help. This will be the target of all Astral Flows, or more specifically Diamond Dusts, because there will be very little hate gained by the SMN but the mob will still be targeting the puller. Once the mob is selected you have someone in the party engage the CFH mob so the SMNs can just assist that person for the target. Then there is a 3 or 4 SMN rotation of about 10 seconds apart of Diamond Dusts. Since you are Level Syncing so low, if you don't level between DDs you can pop 1 Hi-Ether and have enough MP to summon Shiva again and DD again, easily allowing you to get off 3 DDs per person and basically killing all 100+ mobs. This normally gets us about 30-35k per pull and takes about an hour total for the pull and killing all the mobs and using the extra 3 people in the party to use their COR 2hr to reset the 2hrs of the SMNs so you can rinse and repeat. On a really good pull you can get up to about 40k with a good COR exp roll and a low enough level sync.

Using this method I have easily gained over 200k worth of exp and finished my SMN off doing so. When I first discovered SMN burns I was a level 44 SMN and am now a 67 SMN. Not to mention I was also able to leech my BST from 55 to 60 last night as well greatly lowering the time I will need to spend getting to 66 on the rest of my jobs.

PLD I was able to just get into a really good party that I had to leave earlier than I would've liked for a SMN burn party. :D But I did get my PLD to 58, giving me another piece of AF to wear and 1 less piece of extra gear I need to have. I am having some fun with PLD because I'm definitely getting a better idea for hate control as a tank just by knowing how much enmity my abilities get me and doing certain things to keep hate on myself.

I know this feels a little like I'm cheating to get my Maat's Cap but I know these parties won't last because we'll run out of sync targets eventually. I also realize that my time with FFXI will be slowing down once my girlfriend moves home this weekend so I won't be able to dedicate the time like I can now, so I want to get in as much as I can before then. After this weekend it will be a real struggle to get the rest of my jobs to 66 because of my time constraints. It will also stink for events since I won't know when I will be able to make them or not because it will all depend on the woman saying she wants to spend time with me that night or not. Stupid RL getting in the way of my goals for Dynamis, Salvage and Maat's Cap.

Productive Weekend (Happy 69)

As this was my last weekend of "freedom", I got a lot done. Now the target number til Maat's Cap is lucky number 69!

Lets just start out by saying, thank you baby jesus for allowing SMN burns. That being said, my SMN is now 65. It is retarded how awesome it is to be able to fly through levels like this. It was about a week ago that my SMN was 44 and now its already 65 and only 2k til 66. This has been going by so fast, and now I know a bunch of people that want to SMN burn with me since I have a 2nd char that can pull. Actually when I get home tonight, I know a guy that wants to make a party because he doesn't have a puller char and needs me. He said he has people to sync with and SMNs that he could invite, but to have an effective SMN burn you need 2 pullers.

I also got around to doing a choco quest which put my WHM over the edge and now is 66. That is 1 more job completed and 6 to go. Well, 5 to go really because SMN is only 2k til being done.

PLD on the other hand I don't mind taking the time to finish it off because I have been getting some good shield skills and a few parrying skills while leveling. Both are a huge pain to skill up so I might as well do it while I'm getting good exp for it from birds.

I got my PLD to 57 in a birds party with a not too smart WHM that was definitely under geared and missing spells. This WHM NEVER Regen II'd me, let alone Regen'd me, nor did he cast Auspice once. One thing I noticed was how much more a bird uses TP moves when we didn't have Auspice active. My face was getting eaten off by TP moves as PLD, but when I was doing WHM and using Auspice I would have to say the bird was using about 3 less TP moves per fight. I would have to admit that Auspice is definitely a worth while spell. Also, after reading a little more about how Auspice works, it reduces TP dealt by 10% which definitely adds up in a TP burn party.

And as a side note, in Dynamis-Beaucedine I got the Argute Gown for SCH which is really nice piece for when I get my SCH to 75 using SMN burns heheheheHAHAHAHAH.... cough cough :D

I think that's about all for today. Hopefully I can get some more levels on my SMN or my PLD this evening. Oh, and about what I said earlier about this being my last week of "freedom", my gf moves home from graduating from college on Sunday. This means that all of this extra time I've been spending playing FFXI will be drastically cut down. That's why I need to get in as much game time this week as I possibly can!

Free Drop

This will only be a short post since I don't have much to update. Heck, most of this update is going to be about Screamin. lol

Starting with Screamin, I basically don't do sky anymore. I really only go up when they really need people since I seriously have everything I need from sky. This is why I've been sending Screamineagle up instead of me because they usually need DD for Kirin burns and my SAM has been hacked up from lending gear to other people, such as my Peacock Charm to Disdain who hasn't logged on since I lent it to him and my Hagun to Hybrid because he doesn't have the gil right now to buy one. Anyways, Tuesday night the LS needed more DD for Kirin again so I sent Screamin up on MNK since it is pretty well geared. Turns out that D Body drops and our leaders were trying to sell it to the other LS that was there waiting to do Kirin. It ends up that no one that is allowed to lot on it wants it so it free dropped. Well, it ended up free dropping to Screamin so I could get him a Shura Togi now. This leaves the only abj that he really needs from sky now is D Legs which I could really care less about. Hurray for Screamin being done with sky too though. :D

Only update I have for myself is just that I've been working on PLD AF. I have all the keys and now have the quested pieces done, but the coffers themselves are being bastards. Last night I literally searched every spot in The Eldieme Necropolis and didn't find the coffer, but I did find the chest. Tonight the coffers better be more cooperative because I want to get crackin on PLD this weekend and I don't wanna blow Friday night searching.

Oh, and some sad news I just got last night. One of my friends may be transfering servers to Remora. I guess they said the friends they are with right now have a lot of drama on this server so they are jumping to go hang with some other friends they have there. Lame excuse if you ask me. I uprooted once and jumped servers and when I did half of my friends quit and I had to start all over again. At the point where I am I don't have it in me to leave and make all new friends again because I have friends all over this server, even if I'm not that close with them, that I just don't want to leave.

You Just Got SMN Burned!!!

ZOMG!!!! I am in love with a stripper!!! Oh wait, I mean I'm in love with SMN burn parties!!! I got 14 levels last night on my SMN just doing 3 or 4 burns. This wasn't just 14 levels from like 14 to 28 either, this was from 44 to 58.

I've decided if I can't do SMN burns, I'll be leveling PLD for now. Well, I didn't even get a chance to get the gear that I wanted for PLD last night because I got sucked into a SMN burn so quickly. But that's about when I started thinking "darn" too. lol SMN is nice now because I have all these extra BPs that are fun to use and I don't have to go through the hassle of the 40s or even low 50s. If I can get a few more of these SMN burn parties I could probably get myself to 66 in a few nights! Before I logged last night Sush was trying to get me to do SMN burn parties with him and told me that one of his friends has 4 lvl 11/12 jobs that could go through burns. Which I am totally ok with since that would probably take me to somewhere around 65. Then Drivvt also has his COR at 11 which means that could be a 5th burn which would definitely take me from 58 all the way to 66+. I SO CITED!!!

If I can burn through SMN like this, maybe I can get my BST into one of these parties and fly that through since I would be one of the extra ppl pulling which gives me some (you ready for this) pull in the party. BST will be the only other slow job to get to 66 because I would be basically just soloing the whole time which isn't so much fun when you're only doing about 5-6k/hr on average. At least I will have my Anni Ring to get me through it all.

Ohhh, last night was quite a glorious night. Then I was told I was needed for a Kirin burn and when I got geared up on Screamin, got him up there, and then he never even got an invite even after people were dropping dead. Oh well, at least I will get the points for the Kirin.

Last night they were also helping me through some of the SMN AF which was nice because when we all go as SMNs we can just use the mini forks to get to the fights and then blow up the mobs. Now that my weapon and first SMN AF is done, I just have to get ready and do the 2nd one and I'll be done with another set of AF, well, after I do the coffers and Dark Spark again. I am just happy to be having some uber progress right now.

Tonight I have volleyball but then I will be hoping to get myself into another SMN burn and finish off SMN and maybe see if I can get a lil extra on BST. But if I finish off SMN tonight I will be super duper happy.

WHM Done...

...basically. As far as I'm concerned, my WHM is done getting exp. It is sitting at 65 and about 1.1k tnl. That means I just have to do my choco quest and escort quest for the week and its done. Another option is taking it into campaign for a bit, but I'm just not really into that option.

Now that I can toss a bunch of that gear into storage I don't have to worry much about my extra needed space until I do my next AF. I can put some more gear into my satchel that I always carry with me but I don't necessarily always use like my MP rings or earrings or my dmg reduction gear.

Hmm, now I don't know which job to do next. As of right now I'm leaning towards THF. I basically laid out what gear I need for it last week. It shouldn't be too hard of a job to level because I can help keep hate on NINs which have a hard time tanking through birds. Not to mention I get piercing damage on birds which can be really hot. So this should be a good job to level.

Now that I just talked to my bro (Khrone) and he kinda convinced me that I should do PLD next. He just suggested it because it would give me more experience tanking on PLD so I could jump on Screamin and have more experience and be a better end game PLD. This is decent reasoning, but seeing as I already have experience tanking sky gods it would only add on and not much more. The real reason why I think I'm convinced I'm doing PLD next is that I'm sitting on 3 PLD AF coffer keys and I have some gear saved from when I did PLD before.

I also just went through and laid out what my gear for PLD will need to look like and it looks like I should need minimal effort to get to where I want to be. The hardest part will be simply getting my AF. The quested pieces of AF aren't too hard but require a lot of walking around and patience. Other than those few pieces of gear that I need I think I am all set and ready to rock out on PLD. Time to teach these crappy tanks out there how to tank!

100 Levels to go

I have hit the 100 level mark til Maat's Cap. It was just simple leveling on WHM when I probably should've been sleeping but oh well.

What was really funny last night is that I got home from volleyball thinking that I had to go to sky and when I logged on I discovered that I was the ONLY person on my LS. I was totally shocked and not until I called Khrone up at about midnight that I realized that it was Wednesday and we didn't have sky. That just gave me more incentive to exp.

I swapped to WHM and sat there looking for a party for about an hour and just when I was about to give up, as always, I got a party. The TV was on but I wasn't really watching, I think it was George of the Jungle, but this one commercial kept coming on that was saying "Sleep is the best thing for your body". This was quite ironic because I was forgoing sleep to get more exp in. lol I got about 1/3 of the way through 63 and am alllllmost done with WHM. The way I'm going I think I only have about 4 more exp parties and I should be done. This would be awesome because I am ready to move on to another job, but again I come to the point where I don't know which job I want to do next.

When it comes to jobs I am pretty much just choose what job I want to do next when I finish the job and I just stick it out. Hybrid said he would duo with my BST so that rules out BST. SMN I have a feeling I'm just going to try to SMN burn my way all the way to 66 because it would be the quickest way. This leaves me with PLD, THF, RNG, and DRG to choose from. All 4 of these options are really nice because the 3 DD jobs are great on birds and PLD is a tank job which is always looked for. I guess we can just do this by process of elimination again, PLD is easy but takes the most gear so I will hold off on that. RNG will definitely cost me a bundle so I'll save that for last. That leaves me with DRG and THF, both get piercing damage boost on birds so they should rock in any burn exp party that I join.

I think I may just do THF next to get it out of the way. THF will be kind of gear intensive because of AGI and DEX gear that I should stack myself with. As I have been known to be a little lax on my gear though I may let some of it slide and just stick with simple gear choices that don't drown my inventory. So I guess I should start looking into what gear I should get for THF now eh?

Until WHM is done though I won't bother even gathering gear for THF though. Which means this weekend I will be concentrating on WHM.

On a side note, I kind of joined a Salvage group with a guy I was in an LS with a while back. He was looking for a BRD so I figured since he had the title of Moon Charioteer he might actually have a pretty good group. I will give a go and see how it pans out and hopefully I can get some gear out of this LS unlike the last 2 attempts at a salvage group that I've been in.

Me: I completely disagree, Morrigan's would be the best body piece. How does sleep fit in over that?

Light Leveling

Since I was out of town camping this weekend I didn't get much done. I got back Monday but ended up taking 2 naps throughout the day because I was so tired and then ended the day at my friend's place eating some food that he had cooking for 10 hours that tasted really good. For as long as he had cooked the corned beef I didn't think it was THAT amazing, but it was really good.

In game I did do some light leveling Thursday and Monday. Thursday I got my BST to 55 doing my camp in garlaige and ended Screamin with a 25kish buffer on BST. Congrats bro on a job well done on letting me finish your last 2 levels on BST. :P

Yesterday I did some afternoon leveling on WHM and got it to 62. Nothing spectacular because it was a level sync party in Qufim Island that wasn't really all that good. When I got home from my friend's place I did throw my flag up on WHM and see if I could get a party or go do something with Khrone. Sadly sky was canceled so I did have free time the rest of the night but when Khrone told me he was probably just gonna go to bed I decided that I might as well do the same because odds were low anyways that I was going to get a party and I only saw shouts in Japanese which wasn't boding too well for me getting into a shout group. So I just decided to hit the sack and enjoy sleeping in a comfy bed again.

On a side note that has nothing to do with FFXI, I know, I'm shocked too, I found a 1 season show that looks pretty cool. While leveling my WHM I watched the first 6 episodes of the show thus far. It is called Harper's Island, and the premise is a mass murder was on the island and killed 6 people and kinda caused families to scatter off the island. Now these people are coming back 7 years later for a wedding because 2 of the people met on the island so they are going back because the girl's wealthy family was going to foot the bill. Anyways, the show starts off with someone dying in the first 5 minutes and by the end of like the 2nd episode 5 people died. Right now there are about 8 people dead and they still don't really know who is doing all of this killing. I have a guess to who is doing all the killing but I won't say anything on here and just let whoever watches the show have their own opinions. FYI, all the episodes are on CBS.com which is where I watched them all. Oh, and hulu.com is awesome too. :D

I'm on vaca.
- it was more the quote of the weekend because we were constantly drinking and just relaxing and having fun, but it wasn't vacation, it was vaca. lol

Screamin's #4 75

It has been done, Screamineagle's BST is now 75 with the help of last year's Anniversary Band. I burned through 4 charges last night on BST that's how well I was doing on BST.

Sadly I had to still start in Crawler's Nest because I still wasn't comfortable enough to go charm stuff in Garbage Citadel. Once I dinged 53 though I did a quick check of GC and saw no one ther so hurried my way there. Just my luck though about 2 minutes after I looked the 1st time another BST jumped into the Hellmine spot. I sat around hoping he wouldn't be there that long and hoped I had just overlooked him earlier but he told me he had gotten there about 20 minutes before I asked him which was just about when I left CN and headed there. He was nice enough to agree to trio with me and level sync down to 53 because he was 56 at the time. One really nice thing was that we were still getting great exp even as a trio and none of us even came close to dying.

When we started up I had my exp ring up and Screamin of course had his anni band up so we were ROCKING out exp. I mean Screamin was getting almost 600 exp on some of the hellmines that we chained. The only issue was that because there were only 4 hellmine pops we were burning through them pretty quickly. Luckily we were able to take out the Fallen Majers too and I think we did end up taking out 1 Fallen Mage as well. It helped keep our chains going and helped fill the void while waiting for hellmines to respawn. Most of the time we would clear all the hellmines and Fallen Majers and then the hellmines would be repopping, so it worked out perfectly. Occasionally it was a pain when the hellmines blew up and took out all 3 of our pets because then we'd all have to find new pets, but I did find a light at the end of the tunnel. I discovered that if I uncharm my pet and my pet is not the target of the hellmine's self-destruct I can get my pet to not get hit by it. The one time the hellmine self-destructed and I uncharmed my pet and the other guy's pet died, Screamin's was down to about 10%, and because mine got missed, mine was still at around 70%. A new trick (and a new macro I need to make) for a good duo team to live by.

Now my BST is 54 and could now probably charm the beetles pretty easily down in the basement of GC and Screamin's BST is a little over 6k into 75. I'm very with how much I got done last night on BST even if I did have to skip all of sky to do it. Thankfully I was able to get 4 charges burned leaving me with only 3 charges to use the next 2 nights. As long as no one is at the hellmine camp tonight I should be able to burn 2 rings before having to leave for volleyball. Which means I would only have 1 charge left for Screamin to go through which I could half burn while I'm doing sky and he's just killing mobs in sky on his BST. Maybe I'll even try to pop a Despot or something. lol
